It's the feathers, the emotional baggage of killing that many birds to make up a kilogram of their feathers on your shoulders is heavier than steel or feathers combined.

They don’t usually kill birds to get feathers anymore. It’s pretty wasteful and cruel to do it, especially when you’d be able to harvest more feathers over time by keeping the birds alive. My chickens have shed enough feathers naturally in the year and a half I’ve had them to be able to make myself a pillow or two.

I remember my brother asking me this question. He was expecting me to say a kilo of steel but instead I quickly said my dick. Because he wasn't expecting that answer he said that's right. A few moments of silence later and we laughed so hard that apartment security told us to knock it off. We told them the joke and they broke out too. Moral of the story. Dicks are heavier than steel and feathers.

For anyone that's interested, 1kg of steel is slightly heavier than 1 kg of feathers. 1 kg of feather will displace more air as the density of feather is very less comparitively. More the volume displaced more is the upthrust and less the apparent weight.

Kilograms measure MASS, which measures the amount of space an object occupies, not WEIGHT In other words the feathers don’t weigh the same as steel

To be honest, a kilogram of feathers and the kilograms of steel will weight the same. However, the question could have been more specified if it's asking about the mass, volume, or density of the two objects. (However, poor Tim probably hasn't got enough sleep and couldn't think well on the question, so it's not entirely his fault.)
