She was the right person to talk to for him and I'm glad. Someone else mightve felt awkward talking to someone who was so nervous and jittery. But Emma seems such a down to earth person that she probably found that a breath of fresh air against the Hollywood polish media responses shes used to seeing. She was responding to how real and natural he was.
Why would she be nervous or jittery? Emma seems like an adult woman who's kindly tolerating a young, overly-excitable puppy. You guys must be really young girls lol
I’ve liked Emma’s movies but I really haven’t seen any interviews from her, but this makes me so happy because I agree with what you said! She was a great person to be paired with timmy
Specialize I think he just wanted to be prepared so he wrote down points he wanted to talk about and questions he wanted answers to which I think is super adorable and part of his charm for sure 🥰🤷🏻♀️
I seriously adore Timothee because he seems so humble, and like a true fan of cinema, especially seeing how passionate he was about being in Dune. Emma’s beauty is seriously underrated, but she also seems like she could get along with literally anyone and still own the room she’s in. These two are timeless talents.
@@julialumina1615 actually, I also mentioned her bubbly personality by saying “she seems like she could get along with literally anyone” and I also said “these TWO are timeless talents”. I have two daughters, believe me when I say I understand the worth of a woman is FAR beyond that of her physical appearance. Emma is a great actress and I have enjoyed pretty much every role I’ve seen her act in.
@@julialumina1615 not to mention, I didn’t say anything about his talent, specifically. The only time I mentioned “talent” was when I said these TWO. Based off of a RU-vid comment that you apparently misread, you’re misjudging me and my comment.
It's funny when they talk over each other, but not because they were being rude, but because they were being so into the conversation they sometimes forget. It's sooo cute. It's just great seeing these two interview each other. It's perfect!
What's inspiring and heartwarming about this conversation is that both Timmy and Emma are so passionate about their craft and film-making, and they connect on a real, genuine way over this shared passion. They're not trying to project any kind of persona or mask their awkwardness, they're just being themselves and exchanging notes/experiences like two actors who respect and admire each other.
@PietreADI if you're still arguing about mediocrity in Hollywood, then i'm sorry but it has been mediocre for a century. And you may not like it but that's why it's a business called show, they don't expect you to love it, they want you to buy into it
I loved that as the interview went on, they started to physically get closer and even get lost in the conversation, at times it even seemed like I was spying on or overhearing a conversation behind the door. Such a beautiful dialogue.
I love how compassionate, empathetic and supportive Emma is. Such a generous person. She is literally supporting, encouraging, helping Timothee at every corner of this conversation...esp. when he backs himself into a wall...where he get's lost in in his thoughts... She's always there to give him a graceful out. And certainly Timothee is a joy to listen to...just bubbling with energy, gratitude and thoughtfulness...such a great interview for sure. Very authentic.
Timothy gives off hype man, best friend vibes & Emma is like momma bear, mentor vibes. He's so energetic and excited and watching Emma slowly lean in and let loose is sooo cute to watch.
Dune has recently touched my soul in a way most films are unable to, and I beleive this is largely due to the incredible portrayal of the protagonist by Timothee. No doubt this man is on a trajectory for superstardom. I desperately hope it doesn't erode his authenticity, zest for life and his love of film. His excitable, authentic and energetic personality is so rare in Hollywood these days. Emma Stone clearly feeds off his energy in this interview. An absolute joy to watch. Thank you 🙏
Dune is my favorite book of all time and it’s so awesome to see him get a role that can change the trajectory of his career. He seems like such a cool guy and I wish we could be friends.
@@ethanfranzen6145 I'm really curious to learn how you think this movie will change the trajectory of his career. I absolutely loved Dune, but I wouldn't say it will change his career. I'm sure working with Denis and this cast is a valuable experience, but he already had an Oscar nomination and has worked with outstanding directors in critically acclaimed films. I'm keeping an open mind and I acknowledge I'm not an expert, so would love to hear your point of view.
Love hims movie Little women 2019 , lady brid 2017 , Beautifull boy 2018 , Dune 2021♥️♥️ love emma movies to grazy studie love 2011 , Easy A 2010 , La la land 2017 and other movies emma have done♥️ both are good amazing actress and actor 🤩😍♥️♥️♥️
He would have been amazing in that role.. (i presume he was talking about the main character which was played by a pretty good actor that somehow wasn't great in it)
@@KA-gy3lz You'd be surprised. Benicio del Toro is another notable actor who is also a serious film nerd but a lot of actors just work and go through the motions.
@@FrancoisDressler The ones who get awards and are big film actors are also film nerds. You have to be to a certain degree. Then think of all the actors who get into directing.
Classic move, it's called mirroring. Sometimes it happens naturally and sometimes it's intentional. Either way, it makes a person like you. Or they already do like you and it just adds to the likeability.
Can we all appreciate how these two seem to be like in a 'lil brother talk with his sister' situation? I truly enjoyed every minute of this conversation! And I can't believe It's been 5 years now 😪 They are both so lovely and talented.
Timothee is just suuuuuuuch a treasure. I see so much of my own personality there, especially the way he tumbles over his thoughts, and makes connections visibly in his head, and calls himself out on talking over people because he's just bubbling over with thoughts and words excitedly. Its so endearing and makes me feel protective over him. I adore him and I hope he has nothing but good experiences in this industry
me too!!! a lot of the times i almost blurted out shit that was exactly what i was going to say to a response to emma’s question and then he says it. it’s sooo cool to not lose that authenticity when you get on a level as high as his
Timothees shy akwardness is so endearing! He is such a sweetheart! They both engage and listen to the other so well Also Emma telling timothee "stop it, just recieve it" is such a caring thing. Its important for people to embrace accept and take compliments. Its not a prideful thing to take a compliment I love them both! This has been one of my favorite actor to actor interviews
They really vibe well. He’s still young and had that awkward puppy energy and she’s a bit older and more mellowed out now and they just click. Great chemistry, two cool talented and nice people. I would love to see them in a project together.
@@RRisBackBitcheZz Emma Stone won't be part of Greta Gerwig's Little Women as the result of Stone's promotional campaign of The Favourite. Emma Watson took her part, instead. Besides, it's all for the best.
I admit I can't recall the last time I've seen an actor-on-actor type of interview, if I've ever seen one, but I have to say this was by far on of the most not only interesting and intriguing actor/actress interviews, but also incredibly wholesome celebrity talks that I've had the pleasure of watching. The interaction between Emma and Timothee is so casually lovely I adored it. Seriously enjoyed listening to them talk and share their experiences!
Timothee Chalamet always makes me so anxious when I’m watching him (in interviews) because I can literally feel how nervous he is through my screen, but I adore how humble he is. You can tell he still can’t believe he’s talking to all these famous people. I hope he never changes. And Emma clearly finds him adorable. I bet he’s refreshing to talk to in comparison to a lot of other people in that industry. And vice versa. They’re a good match for this series.
Yeah I can feel his anxiety/panic in this video. He's so sweet and I hope he eventually gets more comfortable and feels like he is worth the level of fame he (rightfully) has and is able to not feel so anxious.
There's so many good ones in this series. It's because they come from the same field, expertise meets expertise, they have common grounds and interests, they are really invested in the questions and hearing out the answers. And it becomes more like a natural conversation, it really sets a mood and makes them open up more. No bullshit gossip questions either, obviously. This is a very respectful and professional format.
daniel k. noguera Well, you gotta work with what you got dude. It honestly all depends on you, if you show confidence, no matter how physically attractive you are, you can still become a generally attractive person. If you’re well spoken & educated, THATS SOMETHING work with what you’ve got!!
@@teti9087 Yes, it's definitely possible. But it's gonna take an extreme amount of work, if you're not physically attractive you need to be extraordinary in multiple skills compared to the average person; and then combine them to truly stick out. Many are definitely not ready for that kind of unbelievable grind.
KnockManJo true. But that’s life dude, it sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Honestly, for me, I just do me and I constantly tell myself that everyone else can suck on a nut.
I love how Emma and Timothée don’t really care about the drama and rumours in show business, they just care about acting and being kind and genuine to others. *REAL PEOPLE*
They made crazy rumors up about Emma through the years, they still are! Hope gossip websites all burn in hell! Leave celebrities alone! Paparazzi also sucks!
Oh! They also made nasty as hell rumors about Andrew as well... Hollyweird is a disaster! Leave these innocent people alone! There is actually some innocent people who are in that industry. The truth is. Andrew and Emma are secretly still dating and they never broke up at all! and the media lied the entire time. Stonefield is alive and secretly together and keeping the romance private because of the paparazzi. This is the truth!
The Rita Ora rumors The Justin Theroux headlines The SNL writer thing And the 2015 split things were all complete bullshit! This is the hell the media gives us by making up nasty rumors. This is why don't support magazines or sites like TMZ and PageSix
They also made up gay rumors about Andrew last year. Like... what kind of sick website does this? It's not funny to make mean jokes up about the LGBT. It's a human right some people fight for these days, also calling a straight person gay shouldn't be allowed. Why aren't these internet trolls getting banned or arrested? Bullying celebrities is unbelievable Craziness! Plus Andrew did confirm he's straight. He just played one in a play he got a tony for and he supports the community. This is everything I know. There's more rumors the media made up about both Andrew and Emma through the years, especially 2015- now time period. So be careful what u read on the internet.
I Am A Stonefield Shipper 123 it really does suck, but luckily they ignore it for the most part and don’t give in to what those people want, they want a reaction from them. And I totally agree, I hate how people force a sexual orientation onto someone, it’s not their place
I love the moment when Timmy is expressing his opinion on sth and then goes "well, that's what I think... What do you think?" (10:55) and kinda backs off a little, like he's not sure if what he said makes sense or he's too shy/insecure... But then he regains his confidence once Emma agrees with him :D it's just do cute and i find it so endearing how genuine and vulnerable he is ❤️
@@marialawson2328 that's called grounding, it's a thing i learned in therapy, too. it's actually a pretty common technique, but it's not talked about so often.
Emma Stone possesses this intrinsic calming effect that controls the room. I love any movie she’s been in. She and Timothee are both so talented. He reminds me of a young Alan Alda.
24:38 when emma starts talking about beautiful boy and praising him he doesn’t know how to take it he tries to interrupt emma by praising her back but emma stops him from stopping her praising him... he just sits back holding the chair because he doesn’t know how to take the compliment.
@PietreADI That's not appropriate to say! Who is overhyped and under hyped is not the decision you are to make man, I'm sorry but it really isn't. And I'm not a teenage girl, I'm a woman. I like his performance, he really brings out life to his characters. Elio Perlman played by him in Call Me By Your Name is one of his best performances and that deserves some appreciation. Anybody who has seen the movie and understood it will say how well he played the role. Coming to this interview, did you even watch it? He almost mentioned all of Emma Stone's movies and asked some sensible questions. Emma is one of my favourites, I was just hoping that she would mention one of his best works, which is Call Me By Your Name.
@PietreADI You don't even know my age 😂😂 You just degraded your level 10 times man. You don't have a right to tell me what to watch and you don't know what I watch! If you have so much knowledge about movies do something useful with that, instead of commenting and criticizing other people's choices. I'm sure most of the qualified cinema critics have to disagree with you.
@PietreADI Scared of who??? You? I'm not a movie expert but I like what I like and you have no fin right to tell me anything about my choices. I have common sense to mind my own business and not judge others. I'm done with you. If you are so jobless to continue this, then go on. Bye, I hope I'll never come across some one like you ever again. Because it's nothing but waste of my time and my patience.
Seeing this interview again years later, I am so happy that Timothee is now in Wonka and Dune. Like he is playin 2 very important characters.. After being rejected for Spider man, not getting the chance of being in a movie that is not an Arthouse movie is amazing. I am so happy for him, I think he kind of got what he was dreaming of. I really hope he keeps getting these big roles, and love every minute of them. Even though I am a lover of his independent movies and roles, can't wait to see his bright future.
This mask of bubbly nervous boy falls away when TC stars in TheKing and shows what a self possessed young man he also is. Made me like him even more…a bright future for this kid. Great pairing.
I trained at RADA, and I think I have finally understood what makes Timothee as great as he is. He is hyper focused on the other person. So invested and absorbing of everything in front of him. Almost manically. And why his performances are masterpieces is you know it is because he looks around. Intensively. He isn’t the self absorbed actor. He is the actor that is fascinated by everything and everyone around him and every fine detail. You can see that in his work, it’s an embodiment of accuse observation to the world around him. That is what being a true actor is. It’s not glamorous and flashy like a lot of people think. It’s a human and social analytical study that you use your body to perform and share with the world. I think we are only just seeing the very beginning of this incredible young man.
Olivia Cura Neat observation. He mentions that he is tactile and needs to touch objects to ground him and get him out of his head. My background is psychology and hypnosis, so this externalising of the senses is a technique. Emma mentions a similar method that I will now rob! It's always fascinating when I hear actors mention very similar methods. It shows we are in the same field: transforming and communicating experience. Well done on RADA, too! :-)
@@seop1721 How does that work? Touching objects to get out of one's head I mean. I find that really intriguing. Does that go in line with 'external memory'? Could you tell more?:) Thanks x
I’ve noticed that Timmy apologizes A LOT. Like on every interview. He always thinks he says something that doesn’t make sense or weird, or wrong. He’s the most infp person ever.
I love this over all the interviews with show hosts. It feels natural; Like two normal people having a conversation, able to forget about the pedestal the world places them on.
Timothee* and no not really, Emma is a great actress. But Timmy is on his way to become one of the greatest Actors of this century. When he's in his 40s, he'll be right up there with Brando and DDL.
Nikhil Sharma Excuse but what are these people talking about? Timothee is a great actor but Emma is just as good as he is! At 21 she was nominated for a golden globe and a bafta for a teen movie, do you guys know how often that happens? And at 27 she won a OSCAR. Stop acting like Emma is not going to be one of the best actresses of all time, bc she is on her way.
No, most of the good and celebrated actors have passion for movies. Dosnt mean they are gonna direct a movie. Thats a whole different technique and artform.
@@maanveersingh25 Yeah, very different, but not highly unusual to cross a bridge between those two careers, as nobody knows how actors want to be treated than actors themselves (but of course you need to be equipped for everything else involved in being a director).
I love hearing about and seeing celebrity friendships way more than feuds and drama. I was watching Emma’s facial expressions and you could just tell that she respects him and cares about what he has to say. And it was obvious that he respects her too because he knew a lot about her and he had nothing but kind things to say to her. I don't really watch that much celebrity interviews like this but I'm putting a side note to watch more of them because they're nice to watch.
it reminds me of the time my drama teacher said that a compliment is like a gift, we can receive the gift modestly or with fake modesty and saying things like nah or i was horrible which is really just fishing for compliments and reassurance, timothee is just a genuine human bean who is too humble to handle
This feels like a crowded party where all the cool kids are losing their shit over Billboard's Top 20 and throwing back shots like sweet tea, but you and this one other kid are sitting on a futon in the corner having one of those once-in-a-blue-moon conversations about life and art and fast food and beauty and fear and fandoms and philosophy and everything in between. Timothée and Emma are real people. I love that.
