Muhammad Sadam It's gonna be stiff competition cause of Gary Oldman, Hugh Jackman, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hanks and DDL.

Totally get that and fairly reasonable, BUT... I think the biggest competition for Timmy on that list is Gary Oldman alone, because many critics and awards analyst (if that's even a thing) or whatever---have been praising his performance in Darkest Hour and building the "It's His Time" narrative since Telluride, and yet at the same time they just can't deny how genuinely astounding Timmy really was in CMBYN, and then they go back to put Gary on top of every their narratives. AND THIS, is what I've been afraid of. I've seen Darkest Hour, I love Gary, and he was WOOOW, he was simply amazing, just as Timmy was in CMBYN. But if we're being completely genuinely 100% honest, the performance that really, I mean REALLY REALLY stuck in our mind (and heart), is Timmy. I mean after seeing Darkest Hour, I practically already forgot what the film was truly about (generally speaking), and I only remember Gary was awesome in it, and that's it. Meanwhile what Timmy did (and Armie, coz their chemistry works both ways) in CMBYN, is just as awesome as Gary in the sense that I just mentioned BUT.... Timmy's performance did something else. It actually lasts in my mind, I mean after seeing it the first time last week, I still--up to this very moment--cannot get over it out of my system, it's just sooo Gary Oldman-Good but PLUS something else. And if that's not GREAT ACTING, I really don't know what is. So what I'm actually saying is, if Oscars voters don't want to F this up, they really should stick to the actual merit: acting, and ACTING ALONE. Not seniority, and especially not the "It's His Time" BS narrative. If they can do that to Anna Paquin when she was only 11, I think they should serve the same justice to Timmy too, coz he just RICHLY deserved it---dare I say, a lil bit more than any other performances I've seen this year (and I can only hope the NYFCC has set the best tone for this, regarding the "It's His Time" narrative for more senior actors). ^_^
