Although he only did 2 Bond films during his tenure in the 1980s, Timothy Dalton actually was approached by the producers to play Bond not once, but 4 times. In fact, Dalton was offered to play Bond as early in the 60's to replace Sean Connery. But unlike George Lazenby, Dalton, who at the time was only 23 years old, declined the offer.
However had he said "yes" Dalton would have likely got a contract similar to Lazenby. That means playing Double Oh seven , seven times.
Originally this project aims to see what Dalton would look like if he had said yes and started doing Bond films a lot earlier. But recently, I chance upon Dalton's alternate gunbarrel sequence that was never used. Perhaps , the producers did not favor this version because the "leaping before shooting" was too roughly executed. However after polishing I started to warm up to this unused alternate version. Simply because, its an obvious homage to the original first 3 Bond gunbarrel sequence -- all performed by Bob Simmons. Plus, after all, a younger Bond with cat-like reflex does make sense.
