At 5'11" he's using a TREK size M frame with 172.5 crank arms. Interesting.

Rear wheel for sure, front: whatever you feel comfortable in the aero bars. Being comfortable in the aero position beats the aero gains.

He always does his training on crappy heavy wheels. He will have deeper wheels come race day

You'll see that most elites won't run anything wider than a 50 either front or rear in Kona.
