Day 1 : Just looking for an IEM to buy Day 2 : Wow there is so many choices and brands . . . . Day 287 : I have lost all hope, after more than 3000 videos about wich IEM is better i'm still unsure about the sound signature im looking for, i haven't slept for 3 days and my obsession for weird technical micro-details is growing more and more, i wonder if i'm ever gonna go back to normal
Just received the T3 a week ago, using them every day. Here are my impressions- Up-sides- Has more treble and bass than the T2, This is kinda like a *mildly* U shaped signature. it has all the characteristics of the T2 and a little more Bass and treble. Treble is a little more forward on the T3 Imaging is super great, Bass has more texture and detail. Where T3 differs from the T2: T2 has better separation in the mids, where T3 has better separation and details in the highs. Soundstage is wider on the T2. Downsides: i find the T2 more comfortable. The shell of the T3 is 2-3mm bigger and a little heavier than the T2. Also, the super thicc and heavy cable comes in the way often which is *kinda* annoying sometimes. TL:DR : Tin T3 is basically everything T2 has plus a little more bass and treble and with better imaging, separation, and microdetails. Does this make the T2 obsolete? ans- NO! The T2 is still a great buy! and some might prefer the T2 over the T3 because of the super sparkly treble. Are these a definite upgrade over the T2? ans- NO! These are kinda sidegrade because some might not like the brighter signature of the T3 and less soundstage. Which one is more neutral? ans- The T2, because of the wider soundstage and the near flat bass response. T3 is a little more "fun" sounding than the T2. Sorry for the giant wall of text, i hope you find this helpful.
When I first saw the Tin Audio T3 launched, I thought "Better wait for the Super* Review". I was not disappointed! Your videos are very well made, they seem well scripted and the quality of the audio and editing is very good. Your description of audio quality is easily relatable and the comparisons to other IEMs make good sense. You're in a completely different atmosphere than other reviewers, IMHO. Keep up the good work! - I'm off to Massdrop to get me some T3s :)
I never understood how neutral really sounds like until I bought this pair. It did reveal recording flaws on my favorite tracks which I don't know if it's good or not or maybe it's just another level of fun. Great review by the way, it's the reason I bought it.
I picked up the TIN T2 Pro last week and am very pleased. The slightly higher treble works for me and the base is nice and tight. No complains. Play around with various tips may tweak the experience that much more... a no brainier purchase.
I have a pair of T3’s arriving soon! I’m no audiophile, I’ve been using apple wired headphones for years, this is my first foray into quality phones. I must admit I’m quite excited, I absolutely adore the look and design of these. I’m worried about the treble though, I do like bass and I like a defined treble, I’m sorry if my terminology is wrong 🙄Anyway time will tell! Thx for sharing!
Super* Review They arrived!!!! I already love the design, even the box is pretty!! I hooked them up and went straight for some Dave Brubeck, first impression is...my ears don’t understand what’s going on, I’m hearing little intricacies that I hadn’t heard before!! It’s only been a few hours but already they’re fantastic and comfortable, but I love the look and feel of them. My boss looked at them and said “they look incredibly expensive!!” I said nothing!! Anyway time will tell, thanks for your honest review. Subbed
@@Nev91280 Not great in the end. Pretty soon the left ear pod would keep falling off its connector to the point where it just wouldn’t reconnect. Bass if fine but treble is almost hissing on certain tracks. 4/10
I got delivery of a set of T3s today partly based on the recommendation made in this video. I am super impressed with the build quality and the standard of the cable is just outstanding. The sound is too bright for some people, you're right, but I seem to have similar tonal preferences to you so all good there. I think the bass is fine, perhaps lacking in sub bass. At this price point it's knocking some of my more expensive earphones to the back of the draw. Thanks.
@@gwynbleiddroach2589 Diwrnod da Gwynbleidd. I have One More Triple drivers, Ultimate Ears Superfi 3 and Trinity Audio Icarus III none of which I think rank well against the T3s even though they were more expensive. I have some that I consider as good. The iBasso IT01 are as good, slightly different sound so it's a matter of taste. I have one set which I think beat the T3s and this may surprise you. The Philips Fidelio S2 are better at lower end bass and match in other areas. I got them in pale blue for just £40, don't care about the colour. The draw back is they are really good fit dependant. If you don't get a perfect fit they sound crap.
@@gwynbleiddroach2589 if you get the Philips you may have to persevere to get a good fit. They come with a good selection of tips but none of them did the job for me. I ended up with a pair from the Icarus III package to get a good seal. Don't say I didn't warn you. :-)
I'm testing them too! I believe CE is the certification to sell them in Europe and the other to sell them in Australia, which is boring but many brands don't pay for that! I didn't try T2, just T2 Pro, and this is a big step up for me, even though they are still not perfect in treble for my taste. But for 95% of the people this could be a definitive set, without any doubt.
@@SuperReview I tried the stock foams but they were too big due the big noozle (and my small ears), then I switched to the black silicon ones. I don't have Comply right now to try, but I'll take them because I really want to appreciate that set. Oh, and I'll try these T3 foams too on T2 Pro, maybe I'll get some surprises.
@@SuperReview OMG. I tried Comply tips on T2 Pro, as you suggested. It's an incredible experience in sound changing: surely detail is not as good as before, but they become comfortable to listen to and the treble harshness is nearly completely gone. I didn't know tips could do so much. I'm now glad to have this set and to be able to listen to it! Thank you man, I'll shoot a video and I'll quote you on that trick
Many thanks 🙏 for Another awesome review very well scripted, enjoyable to watch easy to follow, already have the original T2 passed on T2 Pro but decided to get the T3’s watching your review I am glad I waited 🙂
First time watching your reviews and I gotta say, simply amazing. It was very informative and all the information was relevant. The spin was questionable, but I think I'll still give it a 7/10. Think you could do a review on the TFZ Queens? It's a little pricier than your regular reviews but still worth it. Very very few reviews and all reviews are in an oriental language. Would be great to have an english review for it. Sorry for the long text.
Just reviewed the T2 and heard the same complaint about the bass and I'm like huh? There was plenty in my opinion. Don't really get it but okay. I'm a former bass head too. Great review man! Would love to try these out sometime.
Shrute Bucks Home Studio Basics on the T2, if you push the foam tips all the way back to where it covers or nearly covers the front port, you get about 5dB of clean bass boost.
@@armchairracer007 ya, Ive heard that works well. I have a high end dac amp so i just eq them and they sound fantastic. Im hoping ill have the t3 before my trip in a month tho!
My man! This was the review I was waiting for, its hard for me to trust a lot of reviewers so I wind up here often. Keep em' coming brother. Might have to grab these but for now I'm content with my t2. Cable is so nice though.
Hey man. After watching your review I decided to buy a Tin T3. And after 1 day of testing I felt they sound great but kinda don't fit amazingly well for me and tend to work their way out of my ears as I walk. I started digging further and realized that I'm wearing them the same way as T2's are supposed to be worn, but my blue earpiece was in the right ear and red earpiece was in the left ear which's different from how T2's are supposed to work. And then I realised that T3's are actually supposed to be worn the opposite way from T2's: for T2's the cable goes vertical upwards and for T3's it goes horizontally forward. For both models, red earpiece goes into right ear and left earpiece goes into left ear. After fixing this issue (swapping left and right and changing cable orientation) I noticed that the fit was actually better and more secure for me. That being said, you're wearing both of them *correctly* in both reviews, so my plan to jump into the comment section and blow your mind with "you were doing it wrong since the beginning" type of comment failed. That's ok. However, I find this thing to be super-non-obvious and since you're a fan of T2's/T3's I can't help but wonder why you did not mention this difference in the vid.
TBH, red = right, blue = left pretty consistently. And FWIW, I think Tin even changed their manufacturing so that newer T2s fit the same as T3s. One thing you can try to improve fit is lift your ear when you insert. Here's a goofy GIF of me doing it: imgur.com/a/AVG7mKB
Yes...you said it very right...the treble attacks a bit harsh on T3. My ears hurt after longer listening and also some sort of music will get a complete wrong overall appearance. At T2 and also T4 its much better. So if someone has the intention to buy TIN i would reccomend T1, T2 or T4. Except people who are really on need for treble because they want to enjoy special music where treble is more important can go with T3. They work for some kind of music very fine but for allround listening i cant reccomend them.
Hi there. Love your reviews. Keep up the good work 🤘🏼 Im a drummer, and i wanna dive into the IEMs world. I thought about max 50$..and then i sae the Tin T3.. Do they worth the extra cash? And recommendations? KZ, CCX, TRN etc..? By the way, i need a good seal (foam tips?) to block some of the drum noise and rather have a pre-made ear hook 👍🏻 Thanks for the help. Eli
@@SuperReview most of the vid is great but everyone is here to find exactly how they sound. they are the same construction as the t2 we just want to know if they sound any better
T2 have been such a nice found after all the years of disappointments in my quest for all rounder IEM. The sound-to-price is what an audiophile would expect in 2019 specially considering the age of tech involve in those (and the fact that we normally over pay just for "branding"). I'm rocking way more expensive in ears (Final-Audio sold new at +300e ) and they stand well enough to not make me regret switching between both of them.
I was on a Massdrop binge in the past month or so, picked up the T2, EDC3 and EDC... The T2 sound imho the best, though the EDC series is decidedly more all-day comfortable. I'll keep the EDC and T2 as their sound signatures are different enough, and suit different activities... but the T2 at $35-$50 beats the EDC3 at $99, so I'm selling the EDC3. Really huge bang for the buck here. I am tempted to try the T3, but frankly the T2 are scratching a deep itch already...
@@SuperReview I get the feeling you've sampled the EDC3, because it is extremely flat in it's delivery- I feel there is little fun to be had. The EDC (aka Nuforce HEM Dynamic) is more lively, a little more bass oriented... still doesn't sound as good as the T2s though ;) . I'm keeping the original EDC for comfort, sleeping, snowboarding, and working out. My dedicated (mobile) music sessions are all T2.
Cool review... I was checking contemplating on getting the T2 Pro based on your previous review. But I'll be looking out for this now. I wonder though if you've had a chance to listen to the CCA C10?
I got to audition the Tin T3s and some other chifi iems, the T3s sounded congested in the midrange in comparison. Was comparing them to the moondrop spaceship and the spaceship sounded better than the T3 imo
I need your help, maybe due to the time you do not respond, but it does not cost anything to try. I had a Bluedio V2, Ufo 8 drivers, Edifier W830BT and both are horrible, very low. I bought an Anker Spirit X and I loved it, total neutrality, but I found that it lacked bass and I used insulation tape in the outputs and really increased the bass, but yesterday I noticed my head aching and I remembered the tapes, I took it and everything was normal. Before that I discovered that I like neutrality and I saw all his videos of T2, T2 PRO and now T3, but I do not know how to decide, you loved the T2 PRO + foams and said that he plays the vocals later than T3 and that be brighter, but highly praised the T3. I'm like you, I love to hear the voices of the songs well ahead, then the middle ones where they should be and the bass just as a complement, at the right time because if not my head hurts. In view of this, is the T2 PRO with foams more suitable? Or is it really T3?
Tin Audio rolls of the tongue better for me. Most of the time I accidentally typed tin audio rather than tin hifi. Also, idk why they went with tin (Sn), there are many other, more exciting elements to name yourself after. For example: Beryllium Audio or Bromine HiFi. Man, I love Bromine HiFi...
Look...I'm going to be straight.....the sound might be more fun and slightly different from the signature tinaudio sound, they might be clearer whatever irrelevant...what really is a deal breaker tho, the spin..it's just not as good as the T2 spin :( what a deal breaker! Save lives, save the spin
Seeing your review I ordered t3 from aliexpress and I admit they are very good but I do have 1more triple driver gold Earbud which I bought from 1more site so I compared them and found both are much like the same in terms of sound. 1more is a straight down Earbud and they sound very accurate much like t3. Good imaging very accurate sound impression but lack of soundstage. T3 sounds much like the same but has soundstage like feeling. But I think 1more is slightly better than t3 in terms of sound. I prefer 1more triple driver *gold* as my daily driver. Thanks for the review it has been a great help.👍👍
Hey, thank you for the review, I never heard of comply foam tips. Such good info, I dont see Tin Hifi on the size list when I check them out. Which model Comply did you buy for your Tin headphones?
How would these compare to the iBasso IT01? Do you think they have a similar sound profile? I know the iBasso are a bit more expensive but do you think they are worth that extra cash? Love the reviews by the way. I've been into ChiFi earphones since the VSonic VSD3 came out.
@Jeronimo Stupenengo Pefaur I had more expensive Headphones but they sounded like 30 bucks Headphones. The Quad is one of the best Headphones i ever had, my 400€ Nuforce HEM6 is a little bit more Sharper but not very better, if i had too choose between The Quad and Hem6 i would take 1more Quad anytime
Since you like unboxing earphones, you should try the DZAT DF-10 earphones. They are a few years old now, made of wood & have a very unique sound signature
Super* Review I’m not much of a reviewer or anything, but they sound good to me, the highs are bright, but not sibilant, the mids are smooth & warm and the bass is punchy & energetic with a deep sub bass, they are very fun to listen to
Great reviews. I am thinking of getting some IEMS, I like clarity and listen to a lot of soundtracks. I am going to pair these up with a Samsung a70. Would I need a headphone amp at all? Thanks.
I got these and I'll be returning mine. For me, the only things that sound good with these are podcasts and maybe classical music. These just don't give the fullness that other earphones give. The treble is too strong for my taste. But good review I should've listened to what you said about the treble and bass
You're an underrated reviewer. I find your reviews honest and no politics involved. I always like your views on the products that you review. Because we kind of like the same sound signature.
I will be very frank with you guys. I ordered these headphones, waited 5 weeks, and when they got here I was SUPER exited! I threw them in my ears ( I tried to put them in my ears) the right one stuck but not very well and left wouldn’t stay at all. I tried every eartip until I tried the slimmer foam tips which were the best fit for my ears, but still not amazing. The cable is great btw no complaints there and the build quality of the iem itself is great as well. But the sound quality is SHIT! There is not even a slight trace of bass. And the highs are trying way too hard to be clear that they sound so sibilant and distracting. At half volume I had no bass, sibilance so harsh I had to turn them down, and the soundstage along with fidelity SUCKS! All in all and I’m not joking ( I Rock beyerdynamic 1990 pros with the beyerdynamic a20 amp ) these sound worse than apple earbuds. WAY WORSE. Save your money and buy a pair of headphones!
Agree with you, buddy. TinHifi obviously uses aggressive marketing sending millions of freebies to literally every reviewer out there, thus generating a mass of hype around their very average product. These earphones are overpriced garbage that's hidden behind a fancy box and $5 dollar bling cable.
Waiting for Massdrop to finally send my pair of T3's. Also recently bought a Hiby R3 DAP that has a 2.5mm balanced out, and wanted to confirm if the Tin Hifi T3's work with that?
hey can you make a video about all the audio lingo like soundstage, imaging, or how "hot" it sounds and what not for people who have just gotten into the hobby (with references almost anyone new can get)? :D
I was excited for these as a mobile headphone for video editing. But listening to interviewees is almost painful. Not sure if it's the model I got, but the only way I can hear any bass at all is when I jam them into my ear. I use the same ear tips with my cheap MPOW bluetooth headphones and the cheap ones sound soooo much better. Without that bass, these Tin Hifi 3 headphones sound tinny and cheap. Blah.
I'm confused by the T2 Pro's being your number 1 but, you recommended these as if they're better? I think that all of these Tin's can't get a 5 outta 5 star rating because of their differences. So, either a reevaluation should be done where they get different ratings or, change the ratings to more stars
If I followed that system, I'd always be adding stars and it'd be silly. My star system roughly follows this logic: 5 Strong rec at this price 4 Solid rec at this price 3 Don't hate it at this price 2 Don't bother at this price
Hi Super Review! I've been seeing you recommend Blon BL-03 and Tin Hifi T2 in the comments section, should I go with any of those two or go with T3 instead? My issue with Blon I might have to buy ear-tips and recable it. T3 seem to be great stock alone. Would appreciate an answer! ❤
I think OG T2 is still a great option for the money, maybe even a good companion to T3. T2 Pro IMO costs more than T3 because I want Comply tips with it.
Hey man I love your reviews and I wish you reviewed this Moondrop Crescent iems. Reviews on it are very rare but the ones who reviewed are praising it. I wish you could take a look. I am commenting this because I saw your comment on Crescent review by some iem guy
So what you're saying is tin hifi made t2 which is very balanced..... Then made t2 pro and made the treble hotter/ increased the upper frequency....... Then they reduced the treble again to make t3??? I mean why buy the t3?? How different is it from the t2??? 70$ vs 30$.....I've seen some frequency response curves on forums, there are some noticeable differences in the curves (8k bump on t3, 8k dips on t2...... T2 has much more presence after 10-12k frequency while t3 drops off) . But how different do they actually sound??? Is there any real noticeable difference??? I'm gonna pull the trigger soon on one of these please halp.
@@cyano3d what's the difference? And is it noticeable? Bad guy good audio reviews said that the bass is 3 dB higher..... I didn't see any difference in the bass section of the frequency curve in the forums (might be unreliable )....is there any noticeable difference? And how much? Just the sonic ability..... I'm ok with straight down style wear and weird fits, i just want to know about the audio output.
@@pixellivesmatter8409 the bass has punch and is neutral compared to the anemic bass in T2. I love my T2 even with the anemic bass, i just use a 3m invisible tape and its amazing how it sounds for 27 bucks :3 The real upgrade in T3 is packaging, amazing cable, the slight bass boost and bettee design. I did buy the T3 if it ever hits 50 bucks, solely for the cable which is easily worth 20-25 bucks.
T3 is my #1 recommendation at this point. Yes, IMO it sounds better than T2 enough to warrant the price difference. IMO better imaging and stage, just a great sense of space that T2 doesn't quite give. More treble / less treble is just one narrow way to describe them.
I think that cable is exact same as trn 8core i have. Got for 7$ /550₹ . On my t2s it reduces the airy sound thus giving impression of bass bost. The stock cable feels more detailed in sound.
@@SuperReview Wow! I guess we all have different tastes in sound reproduction after all. I respect that! Can you please check out Sony N3. I know you have been reviewing sub $200 iems, but if you get a chance listen to the Sony N3, they are the newest best hybrids from Sony. Also, not many RU-vidrs have covered it in North America because it's an Asia exclusive so far.
@@SuperReview full copper cable and 100 hours of burn in for dm6. dm 6 reveals bad recordings and can sound too bright , but feed it properly mastered track , prefferably lossless and it shines. i have t2 and t2pro with t3 coming next week. tin hifi is great budget under 100 bucks. the detail dm6 can reveal is few levels above t2 for sure and the price reflects it. IMHO i believe dm6 is best under 200 iem.
Hi there! Thank you for the review but I'd like to ask for your opinion. I listen to variety of music genre from EDM to classical music to acoustic. Will T3 cut for it? I'm not really a basshead. For reference I usually use ATH m-40x headphone. Much appreciated!
I don't think they'll sound much like the Audio Technicas, T3 is more vocals + treble focused. I love it. Great for classical and acoustic especially, but I like it with everything.
Size + fit are very similar -- T3 is probably a touch bigger. Sound is somewhat similar. The Yinyoo V2 has more bass, and vocals can sound a bit thin IMO. T3 a bit less bass but more forward, fuller vocals. I prefer T3, both are quite good.
Very Nice Review! I already have a KZ AS10 used for music and monitoring. Am planning to add another IEM. Between the Tin Audio T3 and TFZ Galaxy T2, which one is a better option to go for music playing or monitoring sound? Any advice would be very much appreciated! Have a wonderful day.
@@SuperReview thank you so much for the reply! I see. If only going to use it for music listening (jazz, acoustics, epic, ambient, classical, instrumentals), what would be a better choice between the two given the type of music I listen to?
@@SuperReview I see. Thank you so much again! Just ordered the T3! If I feel the need to listen to some heavy bass music, I'll just grab the AS10 for it. Is the TFZ Galaxy T2 close to the sound signature of the KZ AS10? Might get them as well in the future if they differ greatly 😅 Have a wonderful day 😊
I tried the T3 this morning, its good for more genre than T2 because of more bass added. But its not sharp enough, maybe treble was drop down a bit. I had only 10 min with T3 because so many people around want it ==
hey, i have quick question - I have cheap MP3 player from aliexpress REIZU D01 - I listen music only on ebike (highspeeds) - is it worth to pay more for T3 or T2 will be fine?
Can you compare it with the 1more triple drivers? In terms of build construction and sound. Im pretty satisfied with 1more but looking for new earbusd that perform better even if they are more expensive
Mm, I dunno, I think the fit of these is not super secure for working out and the foam tips might get nasty with sweat. But just guessing, I haven't worked out in them. Maybe consider Mee Audio M6 Pro 2G. They're sweat proof.
I'm debating getting Tin T2s or not, I currently use Xiaomi IEM Pro HD and Monoprice 8232 Headphones, which are both warm sounding and I'm wondering whether the Tin T2s are going to be too harsh. I listen to hip hop, R&B and jazz most of the times so I prioritize bass over treble
@@SuperReview All the reviews are raving about the sound quality and I could use an upgrade. The Xiaomi earphones are great for the price, but often sound muffled in comparison to my headphones. The reviews on the T2s never say the bass is bad, just less pronounced, and if there is still enough bass, I might not mind the extra treble. Also the build looks awesome and it's one of the few headphones in the enthousiast sector that you can wear wire down
@@DrSpychology Sounds like you'll like it then. The more I listen to other earphones, the more I like the bass on the Tin T2 / T3 series. Right balance for me.
