This is crazy, so much musicianship from every single member. Never thought I would hear this song without keys and still sounding good. Awesome to see Dave playing, but the other guitarist also rips (what a great sounding tele)
Gregory's effect in XTC is becoming ever more clear with each new footage I see, whether it's a vintage interview where he has to grab for a bit of input over Partridge, a live performance of 'senses' with Merillion or this. He may not have written the main song but he wrote hundreds of little ones within that wove the bigger fabric.
Dave Gregory plays the arpeggio part very much like the organ in the Yes version. Impressive. And the whole song is rather complicated to play live as a band.
