Chains by Tina Arena came out in the 90’s, it’s a classic, timeless, masterpiece, and she was SO YOUNG when she first recorded and released it and her voice was just as good, but has matured beautifully too!
The Veronicas are (or were!) neighbors of mine (went to my daughters school) - they are tiny girls - big voices though. They are from Brisbane Australia.

Lisa (the shorter Veronica) and Jessica Mauboy look like they were LIVING being on stage with Tina. I remember being obsessed with this song when I was a kid. I was about 5 when it was released but I’d always blast the radio when it would come on. I imagine all three ladies on stage would’ve been obsessed with this song as kids also.

Tina’s voice is clean because she has a very good good forward placement technique. She sings in the nasal resonance I think and it works really well for her.

I once had a tradesman show up with a Tina Arena album cranked up on his van stereo, this fact alone made me somewhat uncomfortable from the get go. He then goes on to inform me how he would lie to impregnate her. not just have his way with her but get her up the duff.

She's one of our highest selling artists, she has 7 ARIA awards, inducted into the ARIA hall of fame, and is a Member of the Order of Australia for her significant contribution to the Australian music industry. Our own government also appointed her for 3 years as a board member on the Australia Council for Arts. And that's just the tip of the iceberg of our love for her down under. Underrated here in Australia? In which reality?
Nick, The ARIA Awards are the Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards held annually. Every year they have a Hall of fame award. Tina's 54 and has been singing on TV since she was 8. 2015 was Tina's year of recognition. More than well deserved by this amazing artist.
Jessica Mauboy is an amazing talent. I suggest a movie called The Sapphires. It’s based on a true story… but she has done so much. I actually live in the suburb next to where Jess grew up. I’ve seen Jess at the local shops with her friends… she is a regular girl with an awesome voice. A real talent.

I remember Tina when she first started out. She has only gotten better as the years have past and I think her best is still to come. The Veronica's are modern day legends and Jessica is one of our greatest with the world at her feet. She is the one person I would love to see representing me and our country on any stage and field she chooses. She is one who truly represents Australia and it's people.

Big Man, I have to agree. I remember seeing this at the time and was blown away by the way the four ladies worked vocally and physically to present an outstanding performance. Now I have to take a cold shower.
BTW - you would be shocked if you knew how old Tina is! Suffice to say - she has aged VERY well. Strangely she is just as big - if not bigger - in France than she is in Australia.
