As far as I'm concerned, Tina can do no wrong. She NAILED this. Easily one of the most, if not the most, iconic Bond theme song. Tina Turner is a legend. We stan.
He had a different take on the character. It probably wouldn't have worked with the style of the old Connery/Moore era, but for the more action-centric films he was in, he fit just fine.
Goldeneye is generally held in high esteem, too. To me, this is a theme that can be held up to the classics like Goldfinger, Diamonds are Forever, Nobody Does it Better, Live and let Die and others.

Like Madonna, Adele and even Billie Eilish. Tina understood the assignment and said here is the bar now yall come here. She just elevated everyone who came after her.
Diamonds Are Forever possibly edges this one for me. Horrendous movie, but incredible theme song. The haunting melody, that bass line and Bassey are pure magic.

The indescriptible feelings that went through me during that introduction, make this song hold a very special place in my heart. Goldeneye on the N64 during the 90's was my childhood. Can't tell you how many times I've watched the film but to say I deeply miss those days is a helluva understatement.
🌹no one will ever be able to compare to her. someone like her will never be born again. no one will ever match her achievements. over 6 decades. my God. she's Tennessee, she's US singer in UK and Europe. her voice is unparalleled. the factory sound of her band's musicians. you can hear hammers banging on anvils, pressurized steam pipes, the work of heavy machines in this sound, all of which creates perfect harmony with her voice. Whoever wrote this track deserves an award, and whoever chose Tina Turner as the performer also deserves lots of credits. Tina Turner nailed this song with her powerful voice and all her postures, both standing, stepping back and sitting on the silva chair with her satin dress, I can go on and on. Absolutely the greatest Bond song of all time to the best Bond movie imo - there is no competition. Skyfall or Tomorrow Never Dies were very good, but this is just a masterpiece. The music, Tina's unique voice, the lyrics - it's all f brilliant. Shivers all over my body as she hits those high notes. RIP Queen! And the movie is for me the best Bond movie ever, highly underrated by many. Brosnan was pure perfection as Bond: he had action skills, charm, sexiness, a mischievous smile, was incredibly handsome, and had class at the same time, Sean Connery or Moore, no one compares to him in my eyes. Goldeneye had also a great storyline, Bond Girl that for the first time wasn't just a pretty face but actually a smart programmer and never just a damsel in distress, and it had the best Bond villain played by the great Sean Bean. He was great because he was raw, realistic - especially during the 90s era - and actually had a painful point, not clownish and cartoonish like in the case of the rest of Bond villains.
2 bond girls I might add, who were competent and sexy. It just happened that one was a villain and in a way reinvented this character (after Goldfinger)😊. A Bond Movie that gets better with age...a rare sight.
This is a total master class in singing. Her incredible tone, amazing control and stunning phrasing are PERFECTION. This is one of Tina's greatest performances ever and is Bassey-worthy as an astonishing entry in the deep catalogue of Bond songs.

A few years ago we had on german radio SR3 a contest for the best bond movie theme ever, and Tina's "Golden Eye" got in fight for the first place with Adele's "Skyfall"! It was close, but "Golden Eye" made the first place!!! We will remember you as a very strong and sweethearthed woman!! We love you and always will!! Rest in peace, dear Tina! Despite her age of 56 at the time of this movie and this video she was a very beautiful and sexy woman! You're one of my heroines, Tina, and will ever be!

"Goldeneye" is one of the best James Bond theme songs, excellently interpreted by Tina Turner. In my view, Pierce Brosnan is also one of the Best 007 actors.
How can you possibly go wrong with either Tina Turner or Dame Shirley Bassey?!. This rendition by Tina is like a coiled spring. She is holding back about 15% and that is what creates the tension.
