Thank you for talking about this because the narrative created by the media is that Ike preyed on Tina when in fact she pursued him. She was a fan and wanted to join his band. They became friends and Ike took in Tina when she was a struggling teen mother. I knew the movie had an agenda when they completely left out that she had a baby with Raymond Hill at 18 which is mentioned in her book. Tina berated Ike for years but I don't recall her ever shaming Raymond for leaving her to be a single parent. Even the musical on her life makes it seems like Ike is the reason her relationship with Raymond failed. Ike is the reason Tina had a career, he invested a lot into her financially. He was not a good husband but he was a good provider and he helped a lot of people. Tina knew his character before she committed to him. She was more in love with him than he was with her and she thought she could change him. I think that was one of the reasons she was so resentful.

Thanks for your comment. Ike had a serious hippie vibe, and a true party man. Great for the stage , but husband material not so much. The drugs didn't help

In Ike's book "Taking back my Name",He basically admitted that Tina is a respectable woman. Nobody is perfect, but she is respectable. She never took drugs like he did. Nor did she participate in the orgies in his own words She was a woman that any man would be lucky to have. He also said she was a very caring mother. She is on a whole different level and she deserves respect. She has every right to escape her abuser & be unapologetic about it! The man admitted in his book that he beat her with a wire hanger for goodness sakes. When Tina left Ike, she didn't take anything. She gave him everything, all the money & royalties. She was done with him then And literally paid her debts to him. She will always be a SHERO & survivor no matter how you spin the story
@Nina-Culture-Art-Highlights
I’m speaking about their true “Origin’. Tina chose to be with Ike and that band. The drugs came later.it’s a wonder she lasted a week living in a house of parting men. No place for a mother, of a child that was not Ikes. But she survived and beat the odds . That’s not a spin.

@@Nina-Culture-Art-Highlights My point is just that Tina had already told us about all that In her first book that came out almost ten years before the movie. Yes, she begged Ike to be in his band, but so did many other women. She wrote that she moved into Ike's house, had no money, nowhere to go, the dental work, the clothes, and everything he did for her. She even said she doesn't believe there was anything she could have asked him for and he would say no! That's deep. Perhaps that's what kept her there so long, remembering the good times. Ike said that she was living in a freaking dirty garage in a alley when her mother kicked her out for being pregnant & wanted to help her. She also admits that this made her fall in love with him. They were very tight! I'm always team Tina, but Both Ike & Tina have a piece of my heart and it all saddens me the way things turned out between them and their family!

@@Nina-Culture-Art-Highlights Also, I just saw her musical here in Hollywood, California. It was wonderful. Tina has told this story many times already, but its great to watch. It focuses a lot at the beginning on Raymond Hill, the saxophone player, Craig, and even how she balanced Ike and Raymond. Ike and Raymond gets into a fist fight. Ike demands to know who's child it is she's carrying (his or Raymond's) proceeded to tell Tina to be with him and to sing or be with Raymond and out of his band- she chose Ike. It definitely shows a lot of the chaos. It shows A LOT & has many more personal characters in it as well. It shows that her own mother & sister still loved Ike after the breakup and called him their family. Tina quoted before she died that the musical was accurate & that she loved the play because of that and she didn't love the movie because it was not accurate! If you haven't seen it, see the musical. Tina has admitted EVERYTHING, even before that movie. I feel a lot of you vloggers are trying to sell Tina out by telling a story that she has already told, or one that is not true at all. It's Tina bashing plain & simple. What woman takes the side of an abuser? I've seen it a lot lately & it sickens me

They will just ignore all that. And focus on the decisions she made when she was basically still in high school. Yeah a teenager was going to be running rings around Ike Turner and telling him who needed to be in his band and living in his house. Gimme a break. If it wasn't a good place for her he could have told her to leave. But soon as he heard her sing he knew what he was doing.

Yes, I want the truth to come out. I admire both of them as musicians and neither one was a saint...at all. It takes a lot of courage to correct the record because some of these fans can't handle the truth at all and got brainwashed by the movie. The real version would be so much more entertaining! Like the truth of who was bringing women to Ike and fighting women in the nightclubs and more...
@Nina-Culture-Art-Highlights
Thanks for your comment. I went through the same realisation as a Fan and admirer of Tina. She’s a force of nature. But when we really want to keep it💯. We can know the truth and still respect the Art

Hollywood does create images of people's lives and relationships for Fan's. They promote stories to sellout concert tickets, movies, and recording media. With that being said the artist career is sustained and successful. 🎉

Thank you for clarifying the humongous missing piece to the Real Story!! I always wondered why would TINA allow Ike to cross the line within their great friendship. Why TINA was the question? And it seems like it was beneficial for her. Ike made it clear that TINA knew and understood his behavior regarding women.

@@Nina-Culture-Art-HighlightsYes her life was a mess. Rotten teeth, no decent clothes. She latched onto Ike cause he was her ticket out of poverty and she knew that. She stayed there for 16 years cause she was getting something out of the relationship better than what she had before.

@kamariatoure42
@kamariatoure42 Год назад
@@ihanaa9803 She sure did! She went as far as saying she "would have been lost in life without him." I don't know what this so called truth telling is people are trying to put out. We already know everything. Tina has written multiple books And so has Ike. Most people are in the middle. I am a huge Tina fan and she is my idol. But I love both Ike and Tina. No matter what the movie got wrong, Ike admitted in his book that he choked Tina, punched her numerous times like a man, whooped her with a wire hanger and slapped her just because she had a snobby attitude. Not to mention all the women he screwed right in her face knowing Tina has admitted to falling in love With Ike had to be HURTFUL. Even if he didn't feel the same, then why play with her head? Do they want us to throw him a party? He was a damn abusive overly controlling MONSTER & Tina Would still come out as a huge inspiration/SHERO to all women, no matter how you tell the story because it's big FACTZ

So why did Ike, who was 8 years older than Tina, have a single teenage mother living in his party home?
@Nina-Culture-Art-Highlights
Cause Tina called Ike wanting to be in the loop.Raymond Hill was there, her child’s father

@@Nina-Culture-Art-Highlights You said to think about why she was there. And I get what you are trying to imply and how you are trying to make that reflect on her character.🙄 But people seem to conveniently brush off the difference in age dynamic that Ike and Tina had when they first met. Having a baby at a young age doesn't suddenly make you a mature adult that will make the best decisions. Some people might, but everyone is different. The human brain doesn't develop fully until late 20's. And I keep that in mind when I look at their story and how it developed. Ike was always the older one.
@Nina-Culture-Art-Highlights
@@janiceaviles8693 I am focused on the beginning. The night club environment. When everything was new and unproblematic between Tina and Ike. She felt her mother was not an option.And yes she was young. I can understand the Artist in her reaching out to Ike. But it was a fast paced environment
