According to Genius, this is Tinashe’s Favorite Song off her Aquarius Album because it explores her vocal range, and she also demonstrates her Rap Experience at the end.
I feel like this is who she really is musically but she makes the 'pop' songs just to keep her label happy and for popularity reasons, loving this futuristic r&b sound.
puno266 no, she actually loves pop music and that is why she makes it. she doesn't want to limit herself to just r&b. that's why she was so stoked to work w britney.
But you can see more of someone's soul in R&B than in pop, that's where more of her mature audience is probably at and as someone who has been a fan since the beginning she started out with R&B so I understand branching out.
puno266 Yeah I agree with you as well. If you take a look at her mixtapes, they all have this weird, beautiful, genuine R&B sound. Now she is so mainstream, especially with her song Flame, and sadly it's because of her label.
puno266 or she simply enjoys making both genres of music....I hate when people don't allow for artist to make more than one specific type of music without having it to be because they are forced....
It's funny how industry works. 2 On, Pretend and All Hands On Deck were financed by her label. The videos were choreo with sexual content and dirty looks. The others were financed by herself: Aquarius, Bated Breath and Cold Sweat. No sexual content and meaning behind them. Tinashe is a true artist that just cares about giving her fans new things such as four mixtapes and visuals that reflect her own vision of art. It would be nice if the industry cared less about money and more about art
I completely agree with this! Ever video Tinashe has produced has nothing to do with being sexual or overly raunchy. Meanwhile her label wants her to be overly sexual which of course is used to sell records. But I respect Tinashe for using her money to stick to being herself. She easily could of went with what "everybody was expecting" which is sexy choreo, smoke and all that bullshit but the song has nothing to do with any of that. Its about the industry and how its snakes in the music business. But respect to Tinashe!
+.blue waffle I'm not saying that Tinashe is against steamy videos, it's just that for me is obvious that her label wants to sell more making those kind of visuals. Chainless is also a bit sexual, but the real tinashe is way deeper than that.
It's about how she feels about the music industry. "I like being alone, come around here spend plenty of time on your own." "After breakfast we'll see who'll still be here." Basically saying a lot of people wouldn't be able to handle the pressure of the music industry.
Byron Graffiti Agreed. Girls Talk TV loves Tinashes music and we see you do to! We would like to feature Cold Sweat on our hit cable television show, "Women In Music" You can help her out by submitting it at girlstalktv.org/submitmusic as well as other great female musicians you know of. I'm sure she'll love you for it!
For the people complaining and saying this video is "weird/demonic" it's not. It shows true emotion and shows how multifaceted she actually is. I like honest emotion in the music I listen to and I love this video.
this song is extremely underrated, I love Tinashe... her message, her style, not to mention shes simply gorgeous! A true Aquarius. Im in love with her album.
Been listening to this song for over 2 months now, I play it everytime I'm at the gym, the audio how the rhythm goes gives me a cool as chill everytime.
Love this woman. I love what she does, love her whole out look on a lot a things, i wish all the best whayever she does. The realist artist out there without a doubt. All our love Tiansha, whole of liverpool love, have great christmas.xx
This is a prime example of why Tinashe is miles ahead of all her other contemporary R&B singers of today. She's just different and stands out from all the rest of the singers now. None of them are really on her level.
Everyone is saying that she is acting really weird but she is not this is actually what happens in the human body of being stressed or depressed or maybe on drugs or taking to much medication or getting drunk to much
Can't believe this girl isn't bigger. Tinashe and FKA twigs need to collaborate. Best damn floor dance workout song that would ever exist! Not just your quads that would be on fire!
Cause her promotion sucks. We have to search for good music. Mainstream pushes detrimental music half the time so yeah, they won't promote all the quality, meaningful music that sets people from mental bondage.
The summers they ain't the same These lovers they ain't the game These feeling, they don't mean nothing These ceilings can keep the pain Explanations you say I deserve it Why after all this time I'm finally worth it Ain't it funny, a power comes with money And how now I'm out here poppin They come back like they're an option Man this shit is hella scummy They claiming that they love me Cause they realize that my time is finally coming They know it Cause my night is young Moon is high The stars are all, alligned

Vty YESS tbh she's the next thing, Jhene is talented in her own way but Tinashe's young ass got the whole package, she'll steal the limelight very soon.
why does everyone have to pit women against one another all the damn time? they can both be great artists on their own. i see their similarities, but every female artist isn't trying to come for another one's spot
PrettyTiaF ok but why must there be a "competition" between two successful women, as if there's only room for one successful female in the music industry. most artists are similar in some way, but i don't see anyone saying Tinashe is gonna take Drake's spot
Liz G hmm...People just have their fave and in their minds their fave is #1 or better. People do the same with men. Say MJ and Chris Brown/Usher/Timberlake/Bruno Mars/The weeknd. Everyone is compared bc everyone has many differences and ppl like to discuss who is better in their opinion. Some people get overly passionate tho lol.
This song is special. It goes deep. The base hooks me instantly & I can see how it might lose other peoples attention after the 1st verse/chorus but I love every second. The harmonies at the end, it’s super sensual & raw. It’s so floaty & id love to hear a remix
RCA didn't promote this single because it would've exposed too many truths about them. Years later, it turns out Tinashe was singing about the RCA folks.
I need to learn to dance to this song. Put all my emotions and feelings of anxiety into the dance.....so beautifully crafted....it touches my soul like no other.
