I have a used tin Lizzie 18. I’m not sure how old, anyway the check spring doesn’t move much and my thread keeps breaking.. does it need to be replaced. I have tried everything.
Thanks for the great video! I am wondering what is a good rule of thumb to be used in determining the appropriate tension setting we should use on the bobbin winder?
Thanks Charlotte. For me, it's a feel thing. When I wind a bobbin, I check how dense the thread is when I press it with my thumb nail. If it winds too tight, it will be hard to press and it could distort the bobbin changing the bobbin's shape and that will affect your stitching. If it's too loose, it will look messy and be loose and soft. So ideally, firm, just not too firm.
