I am of the opinion that all the traditional rulers should be custodians of their cultural heritage and stop being puppets to politicians. Till Nigerians understand the system of presidential system of government and respect the 3 tier of government of Local government, State government and federal government and put all these traditional rules out of government systems.
Emphasis on the “we need to heal” from Rufai… I’m Nigerian American, born in Nigeria but raised in America … and I never knew Nigeria had such toxic ethnic issues until this last election. I grew up always seeing Igbos, Edos, rivers etc as one with Yorubas.. my parents raised me to love All Nigerians… we don’t know how lucky we are to be one, the various traditions, cultures and foods we can gain exposure to. Diversity is a recipe for success… we need to start using what has been used to divide us to unite us!
Nooo, we managed those differences well. But when the political tribe saw that the people will gain knowledge and take control of their country, they first made the people poor, hungry and homeless. Then made them beggars in their own land admist wealth it has. When they succeeded in doing that, they now took what meant so much to us but was managed wisely admist the surplus we had (trib and religion) against us....gradually they used wickedness to cut thru deep into our differences thus winning that war against us. So now, what we have are two tribes: political tribe and masses tribe. Unfortunately political tribe is feeding on our sweat, labour and hardwork...they have turned the masses tribe into SLAVES... They don't fight amongst themselves...tho they all come from different tribes...bcos money is involved. Look at Nigerians outside Africa, don't you admire your countrymen when you see them together breaking records? We have always had those differences. But comfort kept them quiet. Until THEY made us POOR.
The ethnic toxicity has always been flamed by politicians to favour them mostly during electioneering process. It's left to the populace to embrace each other with love and unity and and propagate oneness against our ruiner/rulers.

I am tired of this Lagos Lagos Lagos. Whether you are from Lagos or not you are a Nigerian citizen and you are entitled to every state in Naija. All these foolish fights is because of the level of development between Lagos and other states. If other states where as developed as they should be no body will hear all this crying. It will be in the best interest for Nigerians that every state is developed rather than claiming other states and telling others to leave.

If we claim to be one as Nigerians then according to the laws of the nation, anybody irrespective of the tribe can acquire and build anywhere. There is no law that says stay in your state and develope your state or must do business in your state. Who told you that those that built houses in Lagos and other places don't have houses and investmens in their states too. Everyone is free to work or do business or invest anywhere he deems favourable to him and his family. We have millions of Igbos across the South Eastern states doing their businesses and investing too. Everyone cannot stay in Igboland. Instead of us to speak against this evil agenda against our fellow humans, we are supporting it. It's very simple, if you don't want Igbos to own lands or properties in Lagos, stop selling to them. Keep your lands while they keep their money. But it's inhumane that after selling your lands to them and collected their money, you came back and start hunting the same people. This is evil and must be stopped.
Saying that winners of election are God's choice creates voter apathy. Religious leaders and traditional rulers are indirectly discouraging eligible voters to vote in future elections.

Benin did not creat Lagos,they only settled in a small area of Eko,( even the Oba said it himself that it may not be the whole of Lagos). Ikeja,Allen,Opebi,Ojota,Ketu,many area of today Lagos was created by the Yorubas(Awolowo ,Kosoko,etc. Most of the places i mentioned were not Lagos until some 70yrs ago.
@@tincaisland1374 Benin founded Lagos they were the first to name it Eko before other areas you mentioned there came and joined. One of the oba of Benin also brought the Portuguese to name it Lagos -lagoon meaning a land full of water. Benin founded and created Lagos.

Eko is where Lagos stems from....the true indigenes of lagos know their history and the Oba of Lagos has also buttressed it that Lagos is not part of Yoruba Land... Bear in mind that the word Yoruba stems from Oyo people by the fulani's during the fulani jihad against the Oyo empire... Prior this there were Ijebu's, Egba's and so on.... When the Oba talks about Tinubu’s presidency been ordained by god relates to the the divine right of kings. In political science, the divine right of kings implies all leadership(kings) are ordained by god whether good or bad. If the leaders are good, it means god is happy with the people and when the leader is bad, it means god has ordained such a leader to deal with the people for their perceived wrong deeds and repentance will be the only way out. Mr Rufai, I agree with you that if those buildings were not properly approved prior to construction, it should be demolished. But what you didn't mention was that the landlords still deserve proper notifications before demolition.... even a day in court would have been the least the government can do for a tax payer. In country where criminals are law enforcers, disorderliness becomes the order of every day. What happens In a situation where corrupt state or local government employee issues construction approval that is illegal, who would bear the loss? That is the big question that needs an answer.

The demolition of houses in Lagos may be a good thing to create a better path for water passage, but what are the other motives? Secondly, how were those houses even built? Who gave the owners the permission to build those houses? Did the ward counselors not know about it? The commissioner needs to tell us how did those houses take off? Let people tell us the truth.
