I've been using mine so much over the xmas break - I love it. I highly recommend the 'drift wheels/tyres' you can buy for this car, makes it so much more fun indoors, turns it into a drift monster!

Ive been doing so much to my factory one. Bought a carbon fiber chassis and started a mono shock front and rear build of one of these with 3d printed parts. These cars are amazing and have a lot of potential for racing or drifting!

Don't worry, your diffs will get way smoother over time and your car will acturally be able to roll properly. Had that with mine too.

I’ve had a few of these, there are some with bigger wheels etc Wltoys a212 - I built an entire scale track in my garden with a mixture of tarmac, concrete and dirt Jump sections. Apart from the ball joints popping regularly from big jumps they shredded!

I got the Wltoys k989 a few months ago and finally got enough money to make it almost fully upgraded. After tinkering with it a ton, it is defenently one of my favorite rc cars.

I picked up one of these for my boys 8th birthday back in September and it is by far the best rc for the money! This thing absolutely rips! I also picked up the aluminum upgrades and I also had to open up the holes for the ball joints

Awesome FPV car footage Kev. Skyzone has a 3d stereoscopic system and its perfect on cars, not sure why 3d fpv and fpv on cars hasn't caught on more. Love it!

I did exact same upgrade and glad to know having all the same problems I had. You have tinker so much with this kit for it to fit correctly and in the end think it was better stock lol

Fpv adds a lot of fun to RC. Been flying drones for years and put an FPV camera on my XMAXX a couple years ago and its a ball. Thought about adding a gimbal to use the head tracker function, but just havent got around to it

I love my, WL Toys K989. It is a drifting beast along with the truck that shares the same chassis, P929. I also have and the A212 which is the 1/24 scale truck variant that has the same chassis as the A242. All of them are drift machines, but I don't recommend taking them out in the dirt as the differentials are not sealed and the grit eats the gears in no time. They are perfect for wood or concrete floors. Way to capture the drifting glory Kev. Good Job.

I have one of those. Specifically the k969 Porsche 911. The aluminum kits have bad fitment. Upgrade only the turn knuckles to aluminum. The diffs just keep them stock, put some thick grease in them and seal the sides with tape. It will do wonders. The motor despite being brushed is already overpowered, keep it as is.

I love my EMAX Interceptor! So much so that I've been toying with the idea of getting a much faster car and adding an FPV camera. You should definitely add an FPV camera to the rally car!

The K989 rally car is great, I wouldn’t recommend upgrading it though, I bought a carbon chassis, full aluminium parts including new diff, upgraded it to a brushless motor from a mini z (therefore different esc and receiver) and honestly it’s so much worse now. I have just ordered another stock one and the only upgrades I plan on transferring are the metal motor mount so I can alter the gearing and fit a gyro, it’s a great small rc

Upgraded it so that it could use a dumbo rc since using the original remote, it couldn’t really drift, also put some drift tires and also fitted a mini z Mercedes Benz gmt gt3 body shell, it looks amazing!

I have 3 of these haha epic fun. 1 I have brushless and the other 2 are stock. Stock they are great but as they are brushed the motor gets extremely hot. My brushless version goes like stink and runs cold all day long 🔥🔥🔥👊🏼
