Tiny, adorable, lives in the exact worst place for an amphibian, and will win a staredown with many different manifestations of death and terror in sequence during an evening stroll before becoming a comparable nightmare to a termite colony for its midnight snack. ... 1. extremely good camaras that can zoom really really far 2. lying down with the camara pointed at a thing for hours until something interesting happens 3. they don't write the scripts or anything until after they've captured the footage, so whatever good stuff they are able to get is what we see

It's all staged. The lighting is made to resemble moon light but it's actually studio lights. The animals are planted for the situation given. Yes this most likely does happen in the wild and is scientifically accurate but to capture it so precisely it has to be staged.
