Welcome back to another video here at Brigade Boats. If you're new, I encourage you to subscribe to the channel! We are building a great community here full of jon boat / aluminum boat enthusiasts. In this video, I cover step by step how I installed the tiniest led navigation lights I've seen on the market! The lights, made by Oznium, are super tiny and really cool! Who said nav lights on a boat have to be boring? These lights are made of high-quality materials and definitely have style and flare. I'll show you the install process in this video, step by step, including parts / materials and tools needed. I'll also share some tips and tricks along the way. This is a super clean and easy process. The project is a Lowe 170 aluminum bass boat. Feel free to check out the Full Build of this jon boat project here- • SHOWSTOPPING ALUMINUM ...

Did you have issues with the cut off angles? I am looking to mount these same lights on my job boat but noticed they are designed to be mounted about 34 degrees from centerline and I suspect for myself and you as well that they are not visible from straight ahead. Making them not legal.

Yeah, definitely not a 112.5 degree installation.

Beautiful boat! I’d like to instal those lights on my boat. Curious, are they 100% legal? It looks like you can’t see them from the front? Asking because I’d like to instal mine in the same area

A bit late, but I suspect they are not legal, dealing with this as well.

I plan on turning one of them Jon boats to be a rowing boat and wire it up for lights and a radio with your hatch seat conversion

These look really cool. I have a brand new Alweld jon boat coming. Without cutting some kind of access panel into the inside of the boat, is there anyway for me to install them? Seems like I would have to have a space cut in large enough for me to get my fingers in there to screw the nuts on.

been watching your vids for awhile now, good job on all!! what is the switch on the far left next to the livewell timer, you didn't say in your wiring video
@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats
@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats Год назад
It's not an electrical switch. Its a cable driven shut off for the valve within the livewell pump. It opens or closes it for livewell recirculation, fill, or drain.

Beautiful boat build, that deck looks awesome, love it. Just subscribed to your channel. You video just made my choice on what bow navigation lights I want to use on my kayak. What stern 360° white light did you wind up going with, assuming you will have that on your beautiful build?

I actually use one from Academy sports. It's made by Marine Raider I believe, it's black and telescopic, the only one I've seen that goes from 26 to 46 inches so it fits nicely in hatches.

They might be US Coast Guard approved, but where you have them at isn’t Coast Guard approved because you cannot see them from the front very well at all. don’t mean to be a negative Nancy, but they’re supposed to be visible from the tip of the boat all the way down to a certain amount of degrees from the side when people see both the red and the green light and the white light is visible as well if people can’t see your lights see your white light. They will think that you are traveling away from them.

I bought and installed these. What fancy stern light are you recommending? I could not find anything on part with the quality of these nav lights...

Looks great brother. The CFR is just a set of federal laws, all the other numbers just tell you what section and subsection that applies to. You also have USC laws which can sometimes be similar, but also cover different things that aren't CFR. I deal with this crap almost daily. Also, for stuff like this, don't use 5200, that crap is permanent, meant for stuff under the waterline. A better option would be 4200 (semi permanent). Just FYI.

Thanks man! Yeah that was what I tookaway from it lol. Hey man, I'm full send, we don't install anything unless we are 110% sure on it hence the 5200! J/K..Honestly 5200 is just easier to find in most cases and I use it most for all my livewell fittings and thru hulls. Was just showing another example as the silicone I used is not an off the shelf item like 5200 which is sold everywhere. Thanks for watching and for input!

3M 5200 also comes in black.

Yes. I've used it. Unfortunately they don't make fast cure in black, or I've never seen it. I prefer 5200 fast cure.

IMHO: YOU SHOULD'VE "DE-BURRED" THE HOLESAW HOLES, BEFORE INSTALLING THE LIGHTS!...WTF??!!.. FYI: "RED" GOES ON THE LEFT/PORT SIDE"!!! "GREEN", GOES ON THE "RIGHT/STARBOARD" SIDE!!!!
@AnthonyJonesBrigadeBoats

It didn't need deburring chief. The lights are installed on the proper sides if you watched the video. No clue why your telling me the sides they go on.
