No, there was recognition from the puppy and there probably was paperwork otherwise the cops wouldn't hand it over, but not the best owner if the puppy had no chip to begin with. But it was early days, hopefully this young woman has learned her lesson. I've rescued stray kittens and alway chipped before handover, really baffling that didn't happen.

I felt the same way, especially when she said the friend had problems, it doesn't take a genius to figure out what problems. I bet he was secretly hoping nobody came forward. I just hope she's having a good life💖

My husband is a retired police officer in the US. Cops don’t always have a choice about these things. Nor do vets. Unfortunately, animals and for that matter children basically qualify as property under the law.

I thought the same thing. That little puppy didn't seem happy at all to see her at all. No tail wagging or nothing at all. And the owner didn't seem that worry or happy to have her back. I don't think they knew each other at all. I would had wanted some proof or something that said that the puppy was her's.🤔

@@lourdesojeda1022: she wassn't chipped, there is no proof that that woman is really Abbey's owner. I hope that the animal police keep an eye on that little doggie, and if it goes wrong, then they must look for a temporarily foster mom and a new loving home.

I agree I’m so worried for the poor little girl I wish she had gone to someone else or stayed with Chris but we just have to trust that the owner will look after her well and give her lots of treats and give her a lot of TLC always and I hope we will se Tilly again happy and healthy with her owner

It's against the law to hold the dog away from the lady. They can't just keep her it if's truly hers. That's stolen property. Chris had no choice, sadly.

I think everyone agrees that you need to keep a check on this dog. Too many unanswered questions. I have a bad feeling about this.

Same, if my dog was missing for over a week and I finally found him or someone had him, and called me to ask me to get him, I would cry of tears and say thank you and be really happy, the puppy didn’t seem really happy to see the “owner” , most puppies get really happy to see their owner even tho they’re just 12 weeks old.. 🙄😐

I think you will find that it is no longer possible. I have seen this episode a long time ago. This is a re-upload. Chris isn't even a vet these days. He got the bug for celebrity life and became a TV presenter. That was a few years ago now. I'm afraid if something horrible happened to Tilly, it happened years ago now. Gorgeous looking dog. I pray it all worked out.

Why not! The ‘ what if’ Superman ship landed in Australia! Instead of the daily planet, it is a animal hospital, where Superman had been using his powers to help with vet surgery and medicine, such as x-rays eyes and microscopic heat vision

I very much agree. There was a dog in my village who kept running away. She was a big Mastiff who was underweight. It felt like she was always being featured on our Village Facebook page as “Missing.” Week after week. Then, once she run away again and got hit by a car. My neighbour found her limping. She immediately phoned the police to inform them that she has the dog and conscientiously REFUSED to allow the owner to have the dog back. She took the dog to the vet and it was discovered that the dog had a broken leg. She told the owner that she was unfit to keep a dog and that if she wanted her back, she would have to do so through the legal system and take her to court. Three years later, the dog is happy and lives with my neighbour next door. She has never run away since.

It is not up to the vet to make that determination. The constable informed the vet that it was ok and the vet must comply.

Unfortunately that's true, but you can't judge people based on the story you might have of them in your head. What else can you do except find the owner? It does sound like the owner keeps bad company.

I start getting uncomfortable at around 85. Especially since I got poison oak on my tongue. Whenever I get too warm, start to itch. Stay in the sun too long, break out in a lovely scratchy rash. Don't need the sun to itch, just hot air. This summer's going to be fun.

They're trained vets, pretty sure they can tell a serious case of heatstroke at a glace. Also, I don't think they were using kibble for her meals, probably just had it laid out of a snack

I don't understand how you can say such things. Did you even hear this story? That "owner" was messed up and it most likely is a puppy who is never going to have a stable life! Living among drug addicts. That pup should have been taken and put up for a safe adoption from a decent loving person. The Dr. should have kept the puppy. Not given her away to this loser. I'm so upset over this!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

@@BedfordFalls7 Chris the vet didn't have a choice. The police were satisfied n told him to hand the puppy over, if he didn't he could be charged with theft. I don't think she's a good owner n my gut tells me she definitely is involved with the junkie who had Tilly in a plastic handbag but unfortunately Chris didn't have any other option. 😔

Lets hope the owner is the good one sometimes you can trust your baby with someone you think is your friend and they do something terrible like I said I would beat a heifer for doing that if it were my baby I'd be the one going to jail of course the only one I trust with my furbabies is my mama she considers him her grandson

I agree with you! That person who picked her up had a friend that was doing drugs and put sweet Tilly in a paper bag! and in the heat. What kind of police let that happen? Not where I live. That pup would have been taken from that drug addict and put up for adoption. The home Tilly would go to would be extremely checked out. I am in fear she is miserable or not even alive anymore. I'm so broken up over this story. What a lousy ending. Just horrible.

Sorry, I don't consider this pup saved at all. Not if you give it to someone who says "Oh a friend messed up. A friend on drugs and put the puppy in a bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She proved to the police's satisfaction that she was the owner, and they told the vet who she was... and the puppy was totally relaxed with her. I do hope she doesn't let her friends watch the pup again, though.

@@IMChrysalis People lie all the time.I was an adoption counselor at a shelter and you would not believe the reasons people want a pet. Sorry, does not pass the smell test, that pupper was pretty relaxed most of the time. I am a bit more cynical than you. Have a good day.

@@Escarade George, the cat, was 16 years old and crossed over the Rainbow Bridge July, 20, 2012. Everyone was saddened by his passing. Dr. Chris mourns his loss.

The "owner" was acting a bit strange like she seemed uncomfortable talking to him and didn't want to explain how she got lost. She also ducked away from the camera. Her body language when she was getting the dog seem less joyful and more k I got her back so.

@@pupture9328 then you need body language lessons because she was kissing on the pup and the pup snuggled up to her they were both relieved to see each other the owner Ashlea was appreciative she spoke to Chris nicely and the dog is named Abby she already has a name Ashlea did not look anything like you said or even on drugs not sure what video you saw

No that's not true. Like children, baby animals can misunderstand a moment, feel unsafe and it becomes a trauma.
