“I say sorry I’m busy but I’m not I’m just playing the sims” wow if that’s not a vibe I don’t know what is!

In the sims 1 days, my friends and me used to share EPs, back in the days you had a cd for each ep and you could install it on multiple PCs.

The colors you used in this build are perfect. This cottage truly looks like it’s sitting by a beach, the walls washed rough and pale by the sand, wind and water. The whole atmosphere of this build reminds me of New England here in America. There are tons of quaint houses like this dotting the East Coast and this cottage would fit right in with them. I also marvel at how you can make base game material look that much more interesting. Personally, I love using CC, but your furniture placement is always so refreshing and inviting. Really good stuff!

Omg another senior player!!! Yay. I have been playing for 20 years too. I used to be spooked with the roaches on Sims 1. I remember I used to prefer staying home on a Saturday morning - sunny out, nice temperatures - and play Sims 2 all day on my cleaned and neat room listening to Brazilian music. I loved listening to Gaetano Velos and have my sims own a business, it was a flower shop. For sims 3 I had an “evil legacy” they all had to have the evil trait and it was so much fun. Then I was told of a whole world online of CC and story blogs and LPs. And here I am today with Sims 4. It’s just amazing. The reason I mentioned my “clean and neat” room must be because my room is a disaster these days. 😂

I love that beautiful garden! So many builders aren't aware that the plants can grow in the dirt. I've been playing since the first version of the Sims and it's been so great being able to see the evolution of the graphics and the technology. I was thinking earlier about how there are compound actions now - i.e., they can eat and talk, they can eat and use the computer, they can read a book while on the toilet - and that wasn't always possible. The lighting is incredible now. Sims can route in much tighter spaces than ever before. It really is incredible.

I think 'skedule' is the "American" pronunciation, and 'shedule' is the "British" pronunciation :) I used to have to strike up deals with my parents to get expansion packs, and that would only be when it was on sale about a year after release 😂 the build is so cute, I love the landscaping and colour scheme 😘❤️

@@jenshansen3329 depends on part of the UK, probably. i've met british people saying "skedzh-ool", but as i've found out recently, a lot say "shed-yool" and by prescriptivists it is considered to be the "right" way of pronunciation. "but i wasn't able to find a pattern in the geographic distribution. what part of the UK are you from?

@disgsteng6755

"skedzh-ool" is mostly american, "shed-yool" is mostly british. prescriptivists think that "shed-yool" is the right way, so you're definitely on the right track. i was taught english by the american tv shows, so i only heard "skedzh-ool" all my life. when i heard you say "shed-yool", i was so charmed. i tried to say it in real life, but since i have a foreign accent, i just sound like a try-hard prick. to me, back then the only game i could buy locally was the pirated one that was burned on dvd and sold for half the price. so hunting down a game was an adventure, for sure. bless the progress for digital distribution. the build is amazing. i love how you always manage to capture the feel of the world, building unique building each time instead of the same build over and over again in all the worlds. it always looks different and in game, such a joy to make sims so they fit specifically in each build. thank you.

I loved hearing your story and how dedicated you were to the Sims even in your earlier years. 🙌🏽 When I was younger I used to go over to my neighbor's apartment down the hall just to play the sims. I think it was Sims 2 at the time. He was a kid my age. I really got hooked when Sims 3 came out. It took me till 2017 just to like the Sims 4. The first time I got the game I gave it back and got a refund lol. Now I love the game thanks to CC and the graphics.

When I was little and it first came out I would play for so long at the kitchen computer that I’d have to sit on a pillow on the kitchen chair because I wouldn’t stop playing no matter how numb my butt would get 😂 it was soooo worth the butt numbness

Remember pulling all nighters on the sims 1. Especially when hot dates came out haha. And everytime I played I listened to Craig David. Hearing songs of his first album always take me back to playing the sims 1 in my little bedroom in the Netherlands. Thanks for this build. Glad I found you on RU-vid!

I am from the US, I lived just outside of Brussels when the game came out. I saw an expansion for it in a shop, The display was huge, and I had not even looked at the sims games and thought about it, when I went back they were all gone...so I got on Amazon and ordered it from the US. There were times I ordered it from the UK site, but delivery date didn't seem to be much different. I sure wish we could have downloaded back then. I read a lot, and my language is English so Amazon was a must for me.

Cute Cottage :) I remember that the electronic store in our town had this summer holiday campaign that you would get a discount for every good grade on your school certificate. So my sister and me (hardworking students as we were) put together our discounts and bought the Sims 3 ^^ (our mom wasn't so happy about that)

You know how when you have move objects on, and you place an object on a surface, it stays at the same level if you move it to a different height surface? I think that's what's happening with the plants, since they are a bit above ground level in the pots. It's a theory, anyway? 😊 This is really quaint and provincial. The bump out with those windows gives a great open and light feeling. I was hoping for that perspective in the screenshots. The swingset from IL fits better than I would have thought, nice pick. It looked like you were doing a loft for the bedroom at first, with half walls, and placing the roof over them by moving it from another second story. I know at the least the loft part would have outdoor lighting, tho, and I wonder if it would protect from the elements?

Been playing since 2000 and I remember getting up super early (like 3/4am) to play. I'd put a towel over my head and the screen to stop the glare of the 90s monitors. 😅 This probably contributed to my poor eyesight today... 🤓 Beautiful house btw 💗

I used to always go shopping with my mum and look for sims 2 expansions. Every wee hoping a new one was out. I got sims 3 in America and used to order the expansions online. My husband (boyfriend at the time) bought me sims 4 for our 6 month anniversary. :)

I only started playing the Sims on a reg basis like maybe 7 or 8 years ago. I was like 16 when it first came out, but I never played it. I think I maybe played Sims 2 on a console w/ a friend tho a super long time back lol You sound like you have/had really nice parents! I couldn't imagine mine ever doing that haha This is a beautiful build as always, love how peaceful it feels!

The cabin is so cosy! I and my bigbro used to get the new sims 1 packs during summer vacation. I do remember one time I saw Superstar in a store, and a woman stuffed it in her jacket and left, of course the alarm went off, but when she said she hadn't taken anything, the cashier just believed her. I do not remember how I got most Sims 2 packs, I think I and a cousin would buy packs and install the other's first and then install our own to get as much as possible out of them. But after a while she started installing mine last so I always had to bring my copy and later was told to leave it there before betraying me completely a few months later... Sims 3 I would buy packs that made me curious on steam but then that computer died... Now I have Linux, so I don't have 4, but 3 doesn't work either and I really want to build 😭

My first sims game was the sims 3, which I was playing on my crappy laptop. everytime I'd load the game it would take over 30 min or more, nowadays I can't even imagine how I was patient enough to wait everytime. I also saved every five minutes or so, because the game would crash constantly. But I loved it still, and did the most stupid things with my sims. I'm quite fond of these childhood memories. But the dispair when the game freezed and I knew that all the progress is gone...

My grandmother took me to grainger games to get The Sims 2 it was a 50min bus ride there she dragged me all over Whitley bay then bus ride home felt like torture. Ran straight home went to download it and couldn't find the key. I was in hysterics (I was an emotional child) ran over to my grandmas to ring up. Turns out the key was under a disc... my poor grandmother thought she was gonna have to go all way back. 😅

I remember when the Sims 2 came out in middle school, I begged my parents to get it (after they had already bough the Sims and every Sims expansion pack). It turned out our family PC was not nearly capable of running the game. So I would bring my Sims 2 CD-Roms to my friends house everyday after school. Her older brother had a gaming PC, we would install the game everyday, play until her brother came home, and he would promptly delete the game files because his PC was going to explode. We reinstalled the Sims 2 everyday. Dedication to the cause!!! :P May have also started my CAS addiction having to remake my Sims daily.
