Thank you guys again for this milestone I will definitely make a part 2 to this sense you guys enjoy it I did as well I will also have a video up tomorrow 💯
Great advice! I personally don’t care about TH, STH or chases. It’s all about the castings that I like, and the enjoyment I get out of the hobby. I like that you mentioned not buying all of them if you find multiple. More collectors need to have this mindset. You got a sub from this old man 🤘.
@dynamicsindiecast4258 I started getting only the car models I loved, but they would change models every few years, so I missed out on a TON of cars I want. So I decided to try to get some TH and Supers, but because of SCALPERS AND D- BAGS I have never found one.
I have found that making an inventory list to keep track of your collection. I have found that Hot wheels uses the same name for different castings, so it's a good idea to use a database or spreadsheet, in my opinion.
I suggest that you not only keep a inventory but collect what you like. I'm suggesting you narrow your focus on a theme. Chases are fine to collect but I think that it is the fun of the chase, not just the casting. My collection is primarily sports cars, exotics and muscle cars. For a while I was collecting vehicles for a diorama that I want to make. For me, I'm just starting my inventory list and since I waited so long, it's a daunting task. I've been collecting since the late 1970's, so I have many cars to inventory. 😮
Would you be open to trading or sharing pics of what you have me and my father in law collect of course he’s been collecting since the 70”s I started in 2000… he has some awesome stuff and it’s cool to just see/look at and go down memory lane
I would say that this is all great advice and support all that you said but the most important thing is to have fun and be happy with collecting the cars you like and not ones people tell you you should ( even though those are the cool ones most of the time ). Also I’d love to emphasize leaving behind TH that you may already have or don’t particularly need cause it can make another collectors day totally worth it
Thanks for letting us know about the super treasure hunt cars. I didn't know about them until now. I just recently started collecting Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Greenlight, M2, and Johnny Lightning.
Great video! More people need the mindset of not taking every car on the pegs. I had to stop watching most RU-vidrs who hunt because it’s infuriating to watch them take everything at the store.
Shawn Nicklaus. Opens 16 cases at once. Check how proud he is. Just watch one video and you'll want to wait outside his house and toss a flaming bag of dog butt cream at him 😂
Super Treasure Hunts have Spectraflame paint, “designer” wheels, rubber tires (real riders), “TH” for Treasure Hunt on the car in at least 1 place, and the card will have the Gold Flame logo stamped behind the car.
Yeah DG exclusives are colors of the big box store colors. One thing to note, is not every car is a super, so be sure to know which exact models come as a STH. Great vid
@TheRealZachPowell if you look on Fandom or list of exclusives, they will show what cars are only at what stores. It takes research to really track all of them, but they are out there in certain colors
GREAT HOBBY! I started at 53 😂, with Hot Wheels 53rd anniversary mainlines . ABSOLUTELY wonderful for me (as something to do). Mind you, it can become addictive and expensive 😉🤣 Most of ALL......ENJOY YOURSELF! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Got back into collecting in 2016 after a 15 year absence. I still have yet to find a Super or a Chase in the wild, so consider yourself extremely lucky. I will buy multiples of TH's, but only as trading stock with other collectors. And I only trade even-up, that is, one car for one car, never for money or multiple cars. Also, from what I can tell, there's no way to tell a DG exclusive unless you know ahead of time as to the color variation. Anyway, good info and happy hunting!
Here in the Philippines based from my experience the trending cars that you said the skyline and civic gold they buy bulks and resell it at a higher price and at most cases with added shipping fee which is sucks
Great video man . I'm not really into looking for chases or supers but I agree don't buy multiple of them leave some behind. My favorite diecast would be M2 . Hot Wheels would be my least favorite
Just started! No TH’s yet. Too many scalpers. Love the Ain’t Faire as I collect buses. I only buy one at a time. May buy two just to open. Wish they would leave them for others.
The DGs are just colors that you can't find anywhere else; same with the Kroger and Best Buy excl colors (same w Target as you mentioned) My buddy lives in TN and found the 'best buy' orange porsche 935 at his Kroger, oddly enough. I def agree with you about other "collectors" buying up everything that they find! I've been collecting since 1980 and the last few years have been horrible, imo, with the scalpers ruining it for the true collectors. -Royce
Ayo that happened to me once found a Dollar General exclusive at Kroger had the thought that the stores probably sell unsold products to stores or someone was returning them who knows
Is it an advantage for me, for i work at a big chain store in California, and have 1st access to Matchbox sealed 72 case as well as new matel unopened shippers when they arrive, as well as ordering capabilitys?
You are the type of person that spoils the hobby for the collectors. Seeing you get first crack, do you add to your collection or call your contact so he can flip them?
2:22 Dont listen to that. buy what you want. Say there are 4 of the same cars you like, think about leaving one or two, but its not mandatory. People can find those exact cars in other places too.
Buddy I get what you’re trying to say but sure one or two don’t hurt but I’m mostly just talking about the th and the sth. It’s okay to own multiple of like manlines etc but leaving multiple of the th or sth that car can also make a other collectors day 🙂
Can ya tell us about Premiums ? They cost more but is their value in them, I bought one is was like $7 but didn't even have rubber tires or anything fancy about it??
Some premium do have value like for example there is a Honda civic that everyone wants on eBay they cost quite a bit. what do you mean? by you bought one that don’t have rubber tires
@@Kraziekul_ Hi , yes I bought a orange Lamborghini, still in blister pack and from what I can tell it has 4 slick plastic tires, its in a black card ,says premium, also bought a road kill garage prem, it has the rubber tires with lines, I'm definitely new to the hobby. afterwards I was kind of disappointed I gave $7 for what looks like a mainline car, IDK? still trying to find my first TH seems next to impossible, but I'm gonna keep tring, it's more the thrill of the hunt for me, and getting mainlines I like or that seem different . oh thanks for the video, trying to learn as much as I can
@@sandymitchell8182 that’s awesome I glad I could help and that orange lambo is it a matchbox moving parts? Or is it part of the premium set exotic evny set?
Too many people do it now…. Extremely hard to find anything! I’ve found 6 or 7 STH in the wild but it’s probably been 2 or 3 years now…. Even regular treasure hunts are very hard to get
618Diecast sends a "Hey" from us in southern Illinois, indeed. Keep in touch for a possible "Mail Call" from us. Be safe and Always Keep The Shiny Side Up, indeed ...VvvvV...
It can become addictive.....costly and time consuming. I've been collecting for years...and some times I wonder what for some times... 0000s of cars and nothing to do but look at them and yer never really gonna get yer money back if you were to sell them.....but hey it good fun.
@@Kraziekul_ thanks man but honestly I gave up tryna find one. Iv come to realize I won’t ever. Like u say grab one leave the rest for others. From what I heard in my area there’s a dude that takes them alll
@@angelpiste805hotwheels2 man that’s just not right how I see it is leave it for other people if you already have it. Unless you do trading then that’s a different story but over all I always tell myself this would be someone’s day if I leave this behind.
Be patient. When you least expect it, you'll come across one. Treasure Hunts are not the main focus for me. If I come across one, fine, if not, no great loss. I am a variation collector. Been doing this for over 22 years.
@@JohnLesniewski-np7jg bro.. all I have is patience now after the 6 years Iv given up nd still another year nd half have gone by and not one still.. I don’t even try anymore but I do look when I can but nada my guy. I have 0 chance of ever finding one. I actually heard that there’s a reseller dude in my area that goes around buying every single one nd doesn’t leave any for anyone to find. Sucks but oh well.
It means whatever is the most popular car like I said for example the Honda civic and skyline and they will just buy all of them so you have to pay the triple the price for it.
I personally dont care about the TH or STH but as the same time i do care but dont care about the TH or STH i care about the ones i like now but anyway i personally go for the hot wheels i really like or love dont pick out random hot wheels just get the ones you love or like people! happy hunting people :) ❤ hope this helps also for new people who start collecting hot wheels! :)
ppl with bucks should stay outta the dollar stores they are too "ggod" to shop at, unless there is profit to be made...like stealing all pokemon cards from children when mcdonalds promoted the 25th anniversaries, same with the general meals pokemon cards for kids.... poor children in my community ended up with nothing...shame. "mommy. please coco puffs with pikachu cards!!" "sorry hito, theyre sold out😢"
And how many Hot Wheels did you race? Do you know that these are toys???? 🤷 Sorry, but I think collect toys is the stupidest thing ever. If I buy a car, I play with it. THESE ARE F TOYS!!!! 🤡
