For someone that drives everyday lorries you should know that the merc has the most sluggish gear changes in the whole world

Panche Damjanski I did think that after I wrote that post and tbh never drove a auto tipper always drove Manuel tippers but you do always see a auto merc at lights etc struggling away as the auto box hasn’t got a clue 😂

Merc auto boxes are the worst piles of shit ever invented. I drove the first powershift autos in the 90's and they were awful then. They've got even worse since. My Arocs gearbox regularly shits itself several times a day mainly when slowing down before pulling away. It normally leaves you floating in no mans land looking for a gear, going nowhere. As for pulling away it takes about 3 months to get up to 40 mph when fully loaded. Mecrcedes really should give up building gearboxes.

Dave Badger I’ve got a actros they are dreadful gearboxes and the engine’s are gutless

@@lesterthelab Yep. I drive an Arocs and the gearbox is the most unreliable pile of crap ever built. Our Scanias leave them standing. Shame really as the truck is quite nice, Just the gearbox that lets it down.
