I lived on my own for like a decade and never ordered in. I often got a bag of chips or a whole chicken from a Rabba but usually I bought food on sale from the grocery store and ate it when I felt like it. Like a box of Chicken Wings is 1 meal, Instant Mashed Potatoes, Pizza, Chicken Burgers, I got a box of Beef Burgers from Cosco and cooked em in the oven on a cooking tray with a mini boat thing of Tin Foil to hold the Grease and made Steamed Hams, There's Cereal and sandwiches and I microwaved Salmon with bbq sauce on it, Eggs, fruit, pasta, There's a lot you can make and its much cheaper than eating out. If door dash keeps screwing it up, remember the ninja code: If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself! Yesssss! I so agree like while the hell should I feel bad because someone doesn’t make as much money as they want, I’ll tip if you give me good service, but I’m not obligated to and I don’t think anyone is a dick for not tipping. Also, not just the counter, but the fucking StarBucks drive thru employees not just bring out the card reader that has the tip option for me to see, but also ask me before handing me food if I want to tip. Basically like you said hostage situation, because one it’s guilt tripping because they know it’d be awkward to deny them on the spot and two like you said if I say no and my food hasn’t come out what the fuck are they gonna to it while getting out my food to spite me. I know it sounds far fetched, but I wouldn’t be surprised or if you don’t tip they’ll be like really shitty towards you. Like I’m sorry, but I am sure there are jobs that pay less than even waiters and they don’t get tips so why the hell should you.
