i have some of those wibbly poles I got three at Hampton court flower festival a few years ago and have just used them as structures they get quite annoying. Now I have a more practical use for them, so thanks Tony 🙂

As my tomatoes grow taller i remove ((with a small clean sharp knife) lower tomato stem leaves. It helps wind flow and more growth is concentrated up the main stem. I also halve the length of the remaining 3 sets of leaves to help them turn red. They do that in commercial glasshouses here in NZ.

Hi Tony, I've had the same problem with sweetcorn, I've sown them twice, now given up and bought some from the garden centre in desperation. I have never had a problem before, the incredible from grown local, bought them last year & grew them too. Love the serial supports for your loveky tomato plants. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊

I got those tomatoe poles a view years ago at Aldi Ireland. Was very exited to get them as I remembered to see them used in Germany very often. I didn’t really like them much and understand why none of the German garden you tubers I follow use them. Many of them use tomatoe hooks or build a Spalier.

I grow 2 varieties of tomatoes, 3 Orange Paruche in my 6x4 greenhouse I take out the side shoots, but the 3 OP & the 3 Lldi outside, I don't bother, always get a great crop from them, although they can get a bit unruly....

Birds just peck the heck out of my outdoor tomatoes. I think they are breaking off the branches and growing tips to build nests from... Had to put nets over them 😢

I still have no clue why you bend your curly canes like that, the idea is they are rammed into the ground upright , then you just feed the tomato into them as they grow , simples, unless its a picking method, release cane and fire all 6 trusses at the bucket on the other side of the plot 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I am trying to remember when you grew tomatoes in that space last, must be 4-5 years ago, or more??? 🤔 They did well in quantity but I just remember you had quite a few that didn't ripen.
