I came for the Vital tutorials, but have found a treasure trove in your channel, thanks for getting me to subscribe not by asking for it but by creating phenomenal content. I'm not even that big a fan of psytrance...

Heheh, I have absolutely 0 idea of music theory, but this is something I do in almost every project I do, no matter the genre.

Lol, if you're good enough... this tutorial is an arrangement tutorial as well. Creating rizers and the use of dissonance in this way will kinda tell you what the track needs or the track will tell you what it wants. Ultimately helping your arrangement.

Nice. Very much focused on the musicality! Really tying in the theory with practical examples and translating the concepts into sound and music. The world needs more of this.

Great info my friend thanks for sharing! :) It would be also very good to watch builiding those same techniques but from a live performance perspective. I think every performer kind of tries to replicate some of these ideas but they tend to fall more on "how we all think it's done" rather than what actually are the best ways of achieving it. Noise build ups for example have always amazed because they can be done in so many ways and from so many sources. After playing with it for so many years I recently changed the way I do it, rather it's in it's live or studio production. Controlling noise while filtering it and playing with the rate of an lfo while quickly and in little burst sending it t a long verb, can create a lot of space and tension too and from there you co go where your imagination takes you. Anyway great review, subscribed!

Great tut ! You're actually using what is technically referred to as a "minor plagal cadence" here. In the key of C minor that would be the chord of F minor resolving to C minor. There are 4 basic types of cadence... Perfect, Imperfect, Plagal and Interrupted. ..handy stuff to know about ;)

Really cool tips. There's a newer VST called "Fluid Chords" that can pitch bend from one chord to another, I think it might prove for some interesting results in this area.
@Felixneobrrr
@Felixneobrrr Год назад
you can do this with mpe without a vst, you just have to find a synth that supports it. all ableton native instruments do

Hello Glitsh, your videos are very inspiring, now a question, where can I find your HIVE preset from this tutorial in your Patreon user list? I am looking for this successful HIVE pre-set.

unf not, i'm spending most of my time creating and editing videos - so I just focus on my own mixing these days, but check out Stooodio mastering/mixing services - one of the best in the game and offering great prices at the moment oood.net/mastering.html
