Genetics are the capstone. Here in upstate ny where the the rh in flower is constantly at 90% outdoors, only the most resistant cultivars make it to the finish line. Some just push more secondary metabolites for extra protection and become more resinous, tricomb latent and potent instead of turning into a pile of budrot.

From 25c to -45c i only make 2 small changes and that change saves me on hydro. One is to turn off the window AC and the other is to move the ehaust from the 3 in 1 AC. In the warmer weather it vents outside, in the winter I vent it into my forced air heat vent. It heats my house, no furnace. Hydro cost drops in the winter by about $20 a month. Make no freakin wonder why I love the winters 🙌💚💨

Missed the live show again. 17°, with 20-30mph winds gives us a "feels like 9°" With wind chill. In Austin, TX! 3-4 days of this. Hopefully no grid going down, like last year. Looks like we'll be okay! Usually doesn't get below freezing, ever. Except the last 3 years. Hotter in the Summer also. No Snow, or Ice control! A few million people, and not one Snow plow! Bizarre..?! One more "far below freezing day" left! 👍💯🙏✌️

This is was probably right before Matt interviewed Shane on "Talking Loud podcast" on The "I-Can Channel"..?! Lots of talk about spectrum, and especially LED Kelvin temperatures, and how Bruce Bugbee found plant "quality" to be the same from 3000K°-6000K° Diodes. Not mixed (but maybe some Reds with each Kelvin° color), but individual Kelvin colors per same fixture, same clone. Really good interview with Shane, of MIGRO. I've watched his channel for years, and learned much more through Matt's interview. Especially on the kind of light color and equal quality results. I'll have to watch again! Highly recommended!👍💯✌️

The cheapest way to heat an uninsulated structure is insulate it! There's foam panels for the back of the garage door, seals for the bottom, which also keeps rodents out, panels for the walls, etc. All money well spent.

I’m in the PNW and my tent is in my garage. This is my first “indoor” grow. The last three years outdoor I have lost my harvest to natural what I would call disasters! 1st year, a champion fence jumping male in the neighborhood, 2nd year was bugs (fucking worms), 3rd year it rained for a solid week just as my trichs milking up so the entire harvest had to be trashed! Decided to go with a tent in the garage, gonna play God, not gonna have those issues when I’m in control! LMFFO!!! If I’d only known! First real issue was the temps! Got a greenhouse heater, next was humidity! Finally got that dialed by sealing my vents and letting the duct fan do the work. Seems to be working so far. I’m in my flip week and haven’t had any real issues so far! That heater sure works its ass off for sure!

My grow is in a tent in my bedroom and it's even sitting at 60 degrees because it's so cold in my house. My home heater here can't keep up with the extreme cold weather here in Fort Collins but man are these plant's looking healthy! They can handle 60 degrees in Veg no problem. Lots of CO2 talk and I just don't use it and my plant's are doing just fine without it. Maybe some day I'll use it but I do just fine and I can grow some DGC Dank without it. I've got a Super Zoldier Syrum grow going now and I have HIGH hopes for a great harvest! I love that Recharge Scotty. I'm almost out so I'll be ordering some more. Big Shout Out to Real Growers!! If you are using AC in your grow, in Winter, in a cold climate figure out a way to use either a portable or a window shaker INSIDE. Why dump the heat outside? Window unit works better because the cold side is cold, hot side is hot. Portables are shitty, a dual hose unit is better than a single. I've ducted the exhaust of a window AC and it ran so much better than a portable. The exhaust of the portable would reach 130-140F, the window unit would run 5-10 above room temp

I live in the Upper Penninsula of MICHIGAN......i had two plants that were in flower when it just got too cold and nasty out. Grew them in my unheated well house. The sour diesel didn't much like it. At 6:06 Scotty yeah you're not really supposed to run your air conditioner in the winter but you can with something called a fan cycle switch it interrupts the fan and let the compressor continue to run until a certain pressure and then it turns the fan on so you could but it's not really good

@@ScottyRealDGC Kinda... the heat pump and air conditioner is the same thing. Genetics and enviroment are both equally as important in their own ways. Both have negatives and positves, but both are needed to see good results. Can have the best setup in the world, but if you put shit genetics in there, not much will come from it, same way you can have the best genetics, but without the right enviroment, they will never reach their potential. That being said I will put enviroment slightly higher on the priority list, simply because a bad enviroment can ruin/kill a crop and its the easiest issue to "fix". Stuff like bad air flow could cause rot on any bud your lucky to get grow and its easy to spot, good genetics is a whole other thing as your only limited to what you see growing yourself , so you might not even know the difference. Most people wont even really understand what "bad" and "good" genetics really means in this day and age. Nowdays, even crappy strains still give you something usually, but way back in the day, this wasnt the case, there was TONS of trash out there that hardly even flowered etc etc. Back in the day "Top shelf genetics" would just grow and yield in ways you wouldnt bellieve next to the average strain, if you havent seen it you wont understand. However in this day and age, this isnt as big an issue, but still something to take into account. As those killer genetics in a dialed in room are how you make the party rock and roll.

Went maybe 8-10 days with it being too cold at night and not quite high enough when lights on and the run was killed yield wise. Some of this was timing right at the end of Veg and beginning of flip and that just nosedived the the stretch. Smaller plants less yield. 😱
