For save default you don't have to do so much just click on any property load "standard" attribute and press save. It will load all attribute from model folder once again
Hi mate! Awesome one! These simple things actually make life much easier... Just a short clarification in regards to options.ini. It needs to exit model without saving to keep changes in the file. Otherwise, if you exit with saving the model Tekla will wipe it out. Alternatively, close Tekla down and change options.ini>Save the file> Open the model.
On same way can be added and shortcut for command"Remove unnecessary drawing files" to remove all dg files what are crated for erased drawings, and minimize used space for the model.Very useful command.
Great stuff! I'll look forward for this kind of videos in the future. Just one caveat with orienation wheel - it spams the undo list, which is annoying sometimes.
Thank you! I guess I never noticed before how the orientation wheel affects the undo command. That's kind of strange, but I suppose it also makes sense. It appears to log each 5 degree step in the undo list as you spin it around. You're right in saying it's annoying. Thanks for the comment! Good catch!
this video is great, what a presenter, but i'm disappointed you didn't add my tip and trick from the forum about a CTRL+P that stays zoomed in, but then again you may not use CTRL+P much as you always have your 3D view and plan views open on your screens. In case that tip would help anyone else, try this in 2016 upwards: CTRL+P to stay zoomed in. • Go to Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts. • Find and clear “Switch to 3D or plane” • Change it to something new, like CTRL+[ • Press ASSIGN. • Find “Zoom Selected” change to something close, maybe CTRL+] • Press ASSIGN & Close. • Go to Component Catalog. • Go to the menu and chose Record Macro, Global. • Name it something like “3D to Plan”. • Hold CTRL • Press [ • Press ] • Release CTRL. • Click “Stop Recording” • Go back up to Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts. • Find “Macro.3D to Plan” • Assign the shortcut CTRL+P to this new macro. BOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!! now when you have an object selected and you CTRL+P it, it will turn it to Plan view but still zoomed in on that object and you won't need to go zooming in and finding where you last where in the model.
That's a great tip! I've made note of it and may include it in a future video (I'll give you credit for it, of course). Thank you and thanks for watching!
Hello Wilson, I have a question regarding anchor bolts. How to move anchor bolts and base plate location without disturbing column location. when I am trying with custom component it didn't worked out. please help me out in this part.
Thanks it is very useful video, especially about magnetic lines and planes. But I would to hear some tricks and tips about unfolding of curvilinears surfaces and element, which consists of plates and profiles and about their settings in drawings. Thanks for advance.
Hola estimado podrías explicar para que sirven las variables del modelo y como poder ocuparlos para un mejor modelado de nuestras estructuras saludos excelente video
Thanks for commenting! If I've translated this correctly, I will try to add more Advanced Options in my tips-and-tricks videos. There are a lot of them! Thanks for watching!
CS Wilson Draws yes yes I have seen them but if I could translate them, translators would be perfect because that would clarify artas dudas is a good channel you have some email to write
Thank you! I have been adding to my options.ini for a while now. I'm not sure why some of the settings were originally added, but unless you're using a really old version of Tekla Structures, I think most are available in all versions (except for XS_USE_OLD_DRAWING_CREATION_SETTINGS, that was introduced around V21 or so).
Yesssss this is wonderful & useful settings work in multiple window but I have a question if I maximize the window, ribbon tool bar is not possible access is there any other settings to work in maximize window with access to tool bar that is great Once again thanks for sharing
If I'm reading this correctly, when you maximize a view on the same monitor that the ribbon is located, the view covers up the ribbon. If that is your situation, then this cannot be avoided. It's best to manually resize any views that are on the same monitor that the ribbon is located.
Can you make splices in reinforcement in tekla, can you make these splices stagered?? If you can make a video regarding this tip, it would be very helpful
You can with the new Rebar Sets in 2017i upwards, when you have Direct Modification turned on there is a splice option on the contextual toolbar when they're selected.
Unfortunately, I don't generate any PDF instructions from my videos at this time. If it helps, you can show subtitles for your language by clicking on the "CC" button in the lower right corner of the video. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!
Dear Sir, I am new in tekla , I have an issue , When I have an elevation view at one of the grid lines using zoom in trying to model something at the top , the vertical grid disappears , why this happens. Thanks a lot , I really appreciate it.
I'm not familiar with v18.1, but if the XS_MDI* variables are in the advanced options, setting them to false should work. I can't find any other information for v18.1 since the Tekla User Assistance website only goes back to v19.
Please Sir i exported Tekla structural designer steel model to tekla structures to design connections , i received warning message that material used that's S275 is not found. How can i resolve this. Thank you in advance
I'm not sure I can help with that, V16.1 is before my time. I started with V19.0/V19.1 and the XS_MID... settings worked without any problems. Are the XS_MDI... settings visible in the Advanced Options for V16.1? I tried to look this up but the Tekla User Assistance website only goes back to V19.0, so information is limited.
Yes, all three of them exist. But setting them FALSE didn't let me use my monitors the way you do. So sad. Keep up the videos please, your videos are smashing ;)
I've imported a few things into Tekla Structures. I don't know what software generated them, but STEP files work pretty well. From my experience, the easiest and most reliable import comes from SketchUp (.skp files).
Dear Wilson, Can I convert stp files to skp files? The reason that I am asking is because I never used sketch up. What is the best way to load stp files?
I can create any stp file from solidworks. My question is if there is any more proper way. For example if I have a surface with double curvature I am importing it as an item but the analysis in Tekla is a little bit awful
I don’t have a lot of experience with importing complex geometry. It’s not something I’ve really needed to do. You might be better off to contact the Tekla help desk.
Good day Sir Please Sir if i export report of tekla structural designer to PDF or word for printing, the member image or drawing in the report generation will be faint, i have try within my ability in the report settings, but i couldn't, please can you help me on this, that's exact setting for it to be clear when printed. Thank you
Sorry. I don't know anything about TSD because I really only work with Tekla Structures (modeling/drawing). You might want to contact the Tekla Help Desk or post your question on the Tekla Forum.
