It's best to shower at night to wash off the dirt and germs from the whole day, also flossing teeth at night before you brush to clean out all the food and drinks from the day. Instead of getting into a clean bed when you're dirty from the entire day, taking showers at night will keep your sheets cleaner the whole week or 2 before washing them. I hope that makes sense.
No doubt. This reminds me of a talk show where the host was asking people to call in and answer how often they washed their sheets. There were people that said once a year, twice a year, etc. Yuck!
Great tips Melissa. Love getting into a freshly made bed with clean sheets. Everything gets laundered each time including mattress/ pillow protectors. I have to have the window open to allow fresh air to circulate both night and day. I also prefer not to have plug ins/ strong fragrances in the bedroom. We have a Dyson air purifier in our bedroom too. I would also not keep any clutter in the bedroom as it’s easier to clean and feels calmer.
A freshly laundered bed is simply marvelous but one thing I do every morning, other than open the windows when possible, is open up all the blinds, curtains and sheers so the sun can shine directly onto your fully opened bed - directly on your sheets. This does wonders in feshening up your bed. You should try it
Best feeling is sun-dried sheets from off the clothes line. If it were practical, I would wash my sheets every day to get that feeling, but since it's not, I have to be content with once a week. 😊
It’s not like I’m a huge fan of vacuuming, but I have two cats so I try to vacuum every day. I have one of the newer Dyson’s. That’s super small, compact and powerful. It makes it much easier.
Yes fresh sheets are like christmas morning. Thats why hospitals change sheets daily. . Its amazing how much dust you get off the mattress when you vac. I vac every day before i make the bed. Almost as good as clean sheets. And letting the room breathe before the bed is made is an excellent idea for freshness.
Thank you for sharing this, I’ve never heard of this before but I’ll definitely look into it. Does this program help with handwriting problems due to dyslexia?
Hi, thank you for the video. Can you do a video about how to get rid of the smell for those who lives with pets? (Pets are clean, everything is taken care of but apartment still has a smell)
Open all the windows as often as you can, box fan going too. Maybe get on your hands and knees to smell the floor as there may be one spot or two that are hidden, causing the smell.
I love getting into a freshly made bed. When I first started dating my fiance, the first night I stayed over his sheets smelled so bad - I couldn't sleep! I made him get up in the middle of the night so I could wash them. Fresh sheets are a must!
On think it disturbs me when people vacuum the bedroom carpet and then the vacuum, the same brush the bathroom floor then they go to the kitchen is in the bathroom floor may have some urine????? it is just a question
I used to sell a German vaccuum (Vorwerk) that really sucked! Part of my demo was to vaccuum a small section of the mattress. I'd always pull up a ton of "dust" (skin flakes). Nasty!
Gee thanks! Omg now I CAN smell my shoes since I am like hmmm does it smell like shoes in here? 🫢 I love your helpful advice videos. Thanks for helping me up my game. ❤😎
Yes a clean bed is the best. I always have a window open, even at night unless the weather is so dreadful. No perfumes. Weekly pillow case change with pillows going out into the sun for a few hours and they fluff up amazingly. This also disinfects them. Fortnightly sheet and pillow case change. No clothes on the floor, a place for everything. The feeling of fresh sheets is the best.
Can you please tell me what the holes in the mop is for? The cloth is too thick to shove in and the cloth falls off? Want to use it for the ceiling dust too. Thanks
My moms carpet is my main stinky issue she has an old cat that keeps peeing around and she is a hoarder so is very hard to find where the cat pee and she is in her 80’s and doesn’t want to let go of any of her stuff, what can i use to spot clean old and new cat messes as i find them?
You recommend opening the window to get fresh air into your room. What if you can’t open the windows? I live in Scottsdale, Arizona. Our high today is 111° F. The low will be 80° about 5am tomorrow morning. Still not quite a breath of fresh air. We won’t cool off until October. The stale air inside during the summer months, the cooking odors, builds up inside, it gets bleak. I have an air filter in my bedroom. I intend to get one for the living room. Any other tips will be welcome.
The smelly shoes subject is what I always comment on. If you notice TV shopping, etc. usually encourages people to wear shoes with no socks or stockings. Your feet sweat & when you don’t wear any socks or stockings, your bare feet will slide in those shoes, malforming them & making them stiff & stinky. You ruin your shoes by doing this, plus, you can get blisters. It’s recommended that you always wear socks or stockings as they wick away moisture & the foot slides into the shoes better. Plus, you don’t ruin your nice shoes. 😉 I keep all my nicer shoes in their box, or in one of those decorative boxes with the Velcro closure.
You said to dry sweaty clothes before putting them in the hamper. What...what do you mean by that? Put them in the dryer? Wrap them in a towel? Hang them out in the sun?
@photofinnish7831 Okay, thanks, I just didn't see that as much different from them drying in the hamper, but if they're hanging in a different room with some airflow...
We shower daily and wash our clothes and clean the house and vacuum and shampoo our carpets and change our bedding weekly. After living in her spare bedroom for a month, daughter says the bedroom smells like our house did.
I've been cursed with two things my entire life: Can't get a dress shirt that I Can close the top button then wear a tie, always one size too small. Can't get bed sheets that fit over the corners - "is a Queen larger than a King"? Whatever I have in mattress or sheets, the fitted sheet never quite fits .
Hey I love your channel and find your tips and tricks amazing. One thing I was wondering is if you have ever done a video on specifically how to clean your ceiling fan blades. I have watched your dusting tips video which I get cleaning top to bottom but, I would love to know how to efficiently clean my ceiling fan blades as I right now hate doing that because of all the weird awkward angles and stuff you have to go to get the dust off. I have the same problem with cleaning my hanging on the wall or ceiling light fixtures it’s just very awkward to clean and I was just wondering if there is a better more efficient way to do both. If you haven’t made videos on those two topics I know some others that would probably love to see those videos too. Thanks for being an accidental cleaning expert because I have learned a lot from you. @cleanmyspace
