So glad to find your video! Easy to grow, huh??? This is my second summer trying to grow them and have already had to move it. You encouraged me to keep trying!
Oh gosh I hope you find a good spot for them. I have moved some of mine too mostly when the location had too much sun and the leaves curled. Good luck!!
We had a very hot summer here in the UK and I’ve moved my Astilbe which I thought was going to die from too much sun. First time growing one - fingers crossed it’s now in a better position. Thanks for your helpful tips 😊
Yes you did! I imagine your gardens must have gone into shock! Good luck with the Astilbe. Keep me posted. I am so glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you:)
Hi Amanda:) I really appreciate that. Thank you and thank you for being here. Hopefully more of our videos will be fun and informative for you too! If you ever want to visit Maine… happy to offer some travel tips! Deb
Thank you for your comment and yes... astilbe are so great and add color, texture, dimension and beauty from Spring through late fall (here in Maine). So easy to grow and care for. Enjoy yours!
I wished I had some clay. I have 2'-3' of black dirt, maybe an inch of brown clay/dirt then gravel/boulders. It hasn't rained here in at least 6wk and it's just the beginning of summer. I do have 20 burr oak trees on my 60'x180' lot so I have a LOT of fall leaves that my wonderful Honda mulching mower turns to powder. I only mulch half the leaves and leave the rest until the following spring to mulch when they are a little moist and mulch more than powder. I also save some just to compost for a couple of years before I till them into the soil. I am about 90% shade. I had a beautiful shade garden all at peak maturity when a huge limb from one of the trees naturally prune itself opening up my shade garden to 3/4 day sun. LOL. You're never done with your gardens.
Hey Lee… glad you’re here. Thank you for sharing your gardens and experiences with us. You’re right … things are constantly changing and maybe that’s what makes the gardening experience so wonderful. Just like life, right :). I hope you get some rain soon!!!
The touching the plan was pretty awkward from the beginning and then oops, it broke. 😄 Made me laugh but I accidentally brake plants sometimes when workings in the garden and I hate it. I get mad at myself 😂
