...SUPER LIKE THIS! YOU HAVE THE BEST CONTAINER OF ALL BULBOPHYLLUM VIDEOS I WATCHED SO FAR🤗... (THANK YOU! GOT MORE THAN 5 VARIETIES OF BULBOsssss AND BEEN STRUGGLING LOOKING FOR POT IDEAS. . REALLY THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO🤗)
Shawn Power Thank you and indeed I am always keeping an eye open for better and more creative ways to grow our orchids! Thanks for watching and HAPPY GROWING!
I'm glad you caught that! LOL! Glad to know that you appreciated my orchid-isms! LOL! HA HA HA! Thanks for watching and HAPPY, HUMEROUS GROWING TO YOU! CHEERS!
I've never used them, but they make terracotta hanging jars that you can mount orchids to, but they aren't inexpensive. There is no drainage hole, so you put in water and the moisture moves to the surface of the terracotta and you refill as needed. These give a constant supply of moisture without any media and the orchid can crawl all over it. I like your bread baskets, cheap and effective.
I have never seen the type of container that you are talking about, but they sound similar to the cooling log in which it is in the shape of a log for mounting but is filled with water where it keeps constant moisture and cool temperature throughout the log...and just like the jars they too are pretty costly as well. The bread baskets are fantastic...now I am on the hunt to find more! I got mine at the flea market for a quarter each...so yes very cheap and effective! ...I'm sure you can find them online and other places at a very low price as well.
THAT SOUNDS SO AWESOME! I have seen some orchidvivariam that look superb that are not only beautiful but are very functional for orchids and other plants. I am so happy to hear that they are thriving...a happy orchid makes for a happy owner!!! HAPPY GROWING! :)
Thank you so much for your kind feedback. I do appreciate it. I have used different medias with bulbos trying to find the best ones that have worked for me. Since I have a new way of growing with my orchid kennel I am now able to grow them in sphagnum moss which they really seem to love and benefit from. I've noticed a definite and healthy change in them. It may be a trial and error process for you to find the right type of media and way of growing since everyone's conditions are different...but if you are passionate about your orchids you will indeed find the best way for you. I am wishing you many successes in your orchid adventures! HAPPY GROWING!
Like your saying "like to roam away from home". Little sayings like this help. Could you do a repot video on the coconut orchid? I have one that has gotten very leggy and I'd like to reduce some of its size and grow on the pieces removed. Thanks.
Pat Sfreund Thank you and you will find me using little orchidisms here and there to describe thier different personalities...by using analogies we sometimes can get a better idea and picture that helps to better identify them and thier behavior. I am glad that you can appreciate them. :) Also I will be doing a repot and propagation on my maxillaria soon as it has suffered from frost condition the year before last and hasn't fared well....hopefully my attempts to save what's left of her will be successful and I can hold onto my dearly beloved...wish me luck.
I have a tiny bulbo that is mounted on cork with some spagnum moss. I bought it this wa. I put it in a closed glass orb, open and spray water it daily. There is fungus or white stuff growing on the cork. How do you avoid those unwanted growths in that sort of setting?
...then my mission is complete! That is the very reason I make my videos...sometimes all we need is a little bit of inspirational grease to get the wheels turning! LOL! HAPPY GROWING! :)
I have an ambrosia since last year, it completed all the growth but no bloom, now it is under a humidifier putting out new growths, fingers croddes it will bloom for me next yer or it will go in the trush (like Astrid said in the intro of her videos). Very nice way of potting! I love Bulbo but not all are doing fine with me, medusae is not growing, ambrosia did not bloom, while lasiochilum and roethsch did bloom and are in the exact same location....
Giorgia Canali Thank you....I haven't been very successful with getting mine to flourish either but I have also neglected to go with the flow of how they natural grow and haven't really been giving them much to work with either...so I take full accountability for thier condition. With that being said I've been on a mission to go beyond my orchids simply just surviving but now I am ready to give them exactly what they need by accommodating them and giving them the right tools and conditions to really excel and live out a healthy, prosperous blooming bulbopyllum life....always remember if there is an orchid will there is an orchid way...we have to just be willing to find it. I am wishing you the absolute best in your bulbopyllum and I do hope you can get them to bloom and flourish.
