Hey It's Ely! My friend wants to take nursing as a course but she have sweaty hands and it's really bothering her😅 Okay lang po ba yun to have a sweaty hands?
Hi Tricia Mae Prado! If your friend’s sweaty hands are getting bad, I suggest that she goes to her health care provider because that kind of condition can be fixed! I wish your friend the best of luck!
I'm not quite good dealing with people, I have selective mutism but it actually improved throughout the year of studying and activities in school. Although having problems with social anxiety makes me uncomfortable i really want to study nursing bc I think nursing is a very big opportunity to develop my interpersonal skill and I really want to help people through exposure in the hospital. It makes bother if I can deal with all nursing activities and stuff. So I just want your advice for me Ely it really bothers me to take this :
I hated nursing school my first two years. I had low quiz scores, I was hanging to dear life with exam grades. I have even failed major subjects (NCM 102 😫). Third year was the hardest for me because thats where the core subjects of nursing are. Thats when I knew I wanted to be a nurse and this is what I wanted to be. I never gave up until finally I graduated. I took the board exam and passed on the first take. I’m proud to finally be a nurse. It’s going to be a hard and bumpy road. But trust me, it will all be worth it.
@@esette_14 5 months po ako nag prepare for board exam. I enrolled in a review center (virtual review via zoom). Tapos binasa ko ung libro ni Udan (yellow book). Nag babasa ako notes kahit 1-2 hours per day lang. Pag inaantok ka get some rest (wag pilitin magreview if your brain is tired). Two months before board exam 4-6 hours per day na ako nag bbasa ng notes and reviewers. Last 3 weeks before exam dapat nag ssagot ka nalang ng practice questions including pre board questions (mahirap kasi mag cramming hndi mo maaabsorb lahat ng topics). 3 days before board exam unwind, relax (wag na magreview :D). Pag dating ng boards nagulat ako mas mahirap pala ung mga preboard questions kesa sa actual exam 😃. It’s more on test taking strategy. Minsan ung sagot ay na sa question na mismo. Iniiba lang ung wording. 😊
This is really reassuring, thank you so much for sharing. I’m considering nursing as a career, but I’ve been so worried about the difficulty/pace of the classes and passing
Time flew so fast! Dati pinapanood ko tips for incoming STEM students, and now I found myself here watching this vlog for incoming nursing students! I'll be starting nursing school in a month! Padayon po future, RN's!
I'm not a morning person too. Morning rotation is sickening me always during my college days 😂 What I learned from my Nursing journey, just go with the flow study well and that's it. Don't push yourself too much. Always give yourself a break after a hell week in school. Registered Nurse here. Stay safe future colleagues!
Things you need to learn before taking course of Nursing: 1. The school you will choose is very important. 2. Be a morning person. 3. Time management is everything. 4. Nursing school- is never ending studying. 5. You need to learn your learning style. You need to figure this out to know what helps you study effectively. 6. Acads are not everything. 7. Nursing school is challenging. 8. Nursing is not a joke. People’s lives are literally being put in your hands. 9. You have to take care of yourself. 10. Have a good support system.
Hello po, incoming grade 12 po ako at wla akong inspiration sa nursing🥺 any tips po, wla po kasi akong ibang choice since tita ko nagtatrabaho sa ibang bansa.. Sana po masagot😭😭
I've been a nurse for almost 11 years now and your video just brings me back to those good old days! Everything you said is true! I'm just happy for you that you were the one who decided to take up this course. For me initially I didn't like it so my first few years as a nurse was tedious and frustrating. But as the years passed by, I learned to live with it with gratitude. Now I am a nurse here in Dubai and who I have become came from the tiny disciplines that the nursing job has taught me... keep the positive vibes! Stay inspiring to the burned out nursing students!!!!
@@kingligma8112 well the word smart could mean a lot of things, but surely nursing requires a lot of common sense, fast thinking, initiative, and people skills.. if u have these, at least there is a bigger possibility of being called smart by other nurses..😀😀😀
@@joshianonic1615 Well, we have to act and think smart.. You will just realize that although you may appear smart in lectures, it is a whole different kind of "smart" when you are in the clinical scenario. It's like an additional part of your brain has to function... You are required to think fast and smart, but that will come eventually. Initially it is okay to have mistakes...But inseated of acting emotionally or feeling traumatized, learn to stand up straight and learn from it.. it is much better if you put it on a journal.. so you can come back and read what you have learned...
Hello mam I need some advices bcoz I have passed my 2nd puc and now I want to join nursing but I have a weakness of shivering.i am afraid of practicals.plz help me🥺🤷🙍
@@arpitachougala0707 just do not be too hard on urself. Also dnt be too nervous because it can prevent u from focusing. If you have prepared enough, and u understood the concept then there is nothing to worry about... it is also advisable to ask ur classmates sonu can help each other out.
sameee. I'm also 14 years, I'm stuck between being a doctor or nurse that's why I'm searching abt those. Ik that both are hard but i wanna know what profession will i be more comfortable. I'm still young but I just can't sit here and relax knowing that I had so much to face for my future. Well it's stressing me out, thinking abt it.
"Don't allow yourself to get too invested in everything that's going on to the point that you don't take care of yourself"~ Ely is such a comforting person, she's such a nurse 🥺💛
The real battle begins when you work as a Nurse. Enjoy every moment in school. Academics is just the tip of an iceberg. Goodluck to you and to all nursing students.
Haha, all i though after passing the board exam becoming nurse is the answer to everything. Comes work… problem is not the profession but as u go working there will be lot of people with different personalities that ull have to work with, also theres office politics and etc. thats what u should be preparing after passing the board. Learn to develop how to work smart and how to play with different people with personalities… At the end of the day its not what you know but whom you know.
As a nursing student at SLU Baguio 3 decades ago....there were no guides.... we learned as we go...it was tough but we enjoyed from the time we were in the classrooms, libraries, lab, clinical to our days off. I am now in New York living my dream as a nurse. We never stop learning,we go to seminars and certifications . The more your patients know how educated you are... the more they trust you.Be patient guys and do everything to finish school....you will definitely reach your goals. Nursing is physically, mentally and emotionally challenging but very rewarding.Good luck to you all!!!
hello! i just finished my first year in the college of nursing and i agree with you when you said nursing is hard. its just my first year and i know things are going to get more difficult in the higher years. i am actually very worried now due to the current situation we are in, our program is more on skill-based so its going to be hard if we have to put up with the online classes. i just want to add how i love ret dems! it just pumps up adrenaline and its very fulfilling once you've done it. to everyone with the same dream- in nursing, discipline is everything. remember a-s-k, attitude comes first, then skills, and then knowledge. welcome on board, future nurses. let's serve the people!

I've really been intrested in nursing lately even though im starting highschool this year but when i heard "STUDY STUDY STUDY" i shivered.. im the WORST at studying and managing my time
I teared up watching this because i'm a 2nd year nursing student and I remember the pressure of having to wake up early in the morning for clinical duty 😩 all worth it at the end of the day tho 😭❤️ laban, Nursing!💕
I'm a second year nursing student and...... I REALLY CAN RELATE Nursing is a great profession and a very challenging course it's great but we are unappreciated most of the time as in MOST OF THE TIME !
I am not a nursing student yet but I study health and social care at college. It has happened to me recently where my teachers have assigned me more then one assignment at one time and it is VERY stressful but it is worth it. I pray that all your hard work will pay off. God bless you.
I stand by your tips! This also applies if you're planning to apply for Nursing School in USA! I'm a graduating nursing student (associate's degree) - and it was a rollercoaster ride. Enjoy every minute of it, because time flies!
Did you find the associates degree more difficult? Im thinking of doing an accelerated RN 14 month route to have my bachelors in time. My first year of college I took graphic design classes . So I'm doing my pre reqs my sophomore year of community college
@@-kai9284 I have no comparison but I have no regrets on doing the ASN first! Just to test the waters and accelerate to BSN if you feel the need for administration path. :)
I am 15 and my family is forcing me to be a nurse, ive been crying these days because i dobt really have any idea about nursing and i dont really know if ill pass it or ill like it. But i dont want to disappoint them so im just here saying yes to whatever they are saying.. Its why im watching this video. Thank you..
Ahhh were the same age!! I'm sorry that you're family is forcing you into something you're not passionate about :( I think it's better to do what you really want instead of living for what your family wants bc you'll end up miserable if you force yourself :( Parents shouldn't live their dreams through their child kasi you're your own person and you have every right to choose what you want for your future career. Don't be afraid to be seen as a "disappointment", but instead, think about how your future self will regret not going to the path that you rlly want
My parents are forcing me too. They said I should get a nursing degree so that I can go work to other countries. I don't want to be a nurse. I told them that I have no idea what I should major in and then they already treating me as a failure. Parents should just give advice but forcing their children to take a course contradicting to what their children really want is a big no. They want what's best for their children however this is wrong.
This was so relatable. The subjects were not that hard but we are bombarded with lots of school works all at the same time. Time is really really crucial.
I've been hesitant of taking nursing for years but decided to take the program this year and I'm definitely going to use your tips to hopefully survive freshman year 🤧💕
The last time I watched this vid was when I was in my senior year in highschool Now I'm in my 3rd year in nursing school. I hope next time i watch this I'm a nurse already 🙏
I'm a first year nursing student in FEU. And one lesson that I've learned is that you need to save money to buy medical supplies. Those things are not cheap.
OMGGG the never ending studying is soooo true. I am a freshman in College for nursing and GIRLLLLLL. I have no breaks, I am literally rewriting notes while watching your videos
Good video, the best decision I made as a RN nurse was to create a side hustle for extra income streams. It has really helped me and my family financially stable.

Hello to all, I am an upcoming nursing student. To be honest I am really not certain about this course since I am a bit introverted and doesn't really work well with people, but for some reason i took an entrance exam to a university and passed. Nursing would be a new world for me and I find that exciting and scary at the same time, it makes me wonder if I can do it. It's not that I dont wanna be a nurse, but sometimes anxiety strikes and it leaves me to wonder if I can do it. I am not really the studious type and bit introverted at that, so I think I'm bound to failure. I am trying to escape such predicament by watching some tips on how to study, how to socialize, and also by knowing in advance what are the possible subjects that I may encounter, but idk if that is enough so i searched for tips on how to become a proper nursing student and that is how i stumbled upon this video. The anxiety of becoming a nursing student is killing me, on the positive side though i like the challenge, so i tell myself or maybe gaslight myself that if I can get through this, I would become a better version of myself. P.S. Nursing was suppose be my least priority course behind engineering and criminology but for some reason I made a mistake and choose it as a top priority course which bring me into this situation but no need to worry id still give it my 101% , and with high hopes, become a RN in the near future. I hope future me can handle the stress😅.
I stumbled upon your channel and I LOVE YOU already, thank you so much for being honest and real, and still staying positive and getting me so excited to start my nursing program this fall 🥰😍😍
I'm a senior high school student and I'm planning to take a nursing course to college and all of my reasons including "big salary" LOL just kiddin' hahaha,we have same reasons ate,I badly want to help people and I don't care how risky it is but at least at the end it was overwhelming and full of fulfillment.
Nursing school is so haard. Yep, really hard. You have to be mentally, emotionally and physically strong. I am also a second year nsg student and i miss going to clinical duty (bcoz of dis pandemic). I admire u for having this kind of vlog. :) Sooner we’ll be the angel in the sickroom. Laban future nars. Good luck to ur journey.
Hi Ate Ely! Thank you so much for the tips, I'm a grade 9 student and I'm doing an advance research about nurses. It's kind of pressuring and nervous because one day I'll be in college to learn all this, to take care of people and their lives are up to me. Can I ask what was the first topic or lesson you had to learn? AAAAA Thank you again
So I'm here because I want to become a nurse someday, I am a grade 12 student from STEM. Thank you ate Ely for your inspirational talks, praying and hoping something precious for my next journey ❤️
This was such an insightful video. Thank you for uploading this! I'm an incoming nursing student myself and I've just been spending my self-quarantine watching videos like these to prepare, haha. I can't wait to experience all the things you described here, whether good or bad ☺️ Your voice is really calming to listen to, btw!
Great content, mas na motivate ako mag nurse dahil sa mga sinabi mo pong experiences at mga feelings na nararamdaman while doing your work kaya natin to , god bless
I'm so happy to hear that! If you wanna see any other kind of nursing videos, feel free to let me know! I love taking you guys along my nursing journey! Good luck!
Una kong napanood 'to last year di pa ako sure kung ittake ko ba nursing or diretso med school (graduate nako ng premed) pero there's this voice talaga na sinasabing mag nursing ako huhu i dunno why? Babalikan ko 'tong comment ko pag graduate nako ng nursing. Thanks for this Ely!
Tbh, nursing is not the course I wanted to take but with your inspiring words, I was inspired to continue this course. I know nursing is a bit tiring and needs focus, but I know all those are going to be worth it in the end. Anyways, keep inspiring more young people like me ate hehe lovelots and I'm hoping for more videos like this about BS nursing course♡
Sounds like a nightmare! But a nightmare I'm choosing to have 😌I really think that I'll go through a lot of development with this course. Going to be a nursing student this year and I am excited and horribly anxious at the same time. Oh well! 🤷♀
I like that you talked about the location. I chose the best school in the state I live in and it’s an hour drive away. It may not seem that long but the traffic is god awful on the way back, it will take me 2 to 2 and a half hours to drive back sometimes, not to mention our clinicals would be an hour and a half drive away and our shift would be as long as 12 hours. Id get home at like 8pm and I wouldn’t have time to study. I did that for a year I’m just glad it’s over!
It feels so weird that i watched your videos without the intention of getting into nursing school and after a month i had a breakdown and i wanted to become a nurse, and now i passed the entrance exam for nursing skl AND even more i ranked third place with an average of 85%. Now I'm re-watching your videos before starting the courses and IT'S SO WEIIRDDD

Incoming nursing student and nursing is not really my course it’s biology. But I didn’t get in the university I applied to so im forced to take nursing. We can’t afford going to other schools because of the pandemic that affected my parents work. So yeah im here to make myself to like nursing just a bit to give me energy to stick with this course.
thanks for showing us what might be ahead of us in taking the nursing school. It's a great way to prepare ourselves for the journey we're about to take.
1st year Nursing student here. I discovered your channel recently and wow I am astonished how this tips would really inspire me specially to become a morning person and the time management thingy which I honestly lack haha. I am now more interested in your videos so I'll better stick here ❤
WOW okay so i just randomly found your channel as i was studying for my nursing class! And felt so discouraged before watching cause im just stressed haha. But i love Jesus so much, truly with everything in me! So i wanted to thank you for being bold to share that he really is the One who will get us through school or anything! And i was reading Philippians 4:6 today so that was so spot on haha. God really used this video and your channel to bless me tonight. Thank you so much for your obedience in posting this!
I don't know anymore. Nurse or Law. I love deeply in my heart the law subjects but they told me that it takes lots of years to study it, unlike nursing. They also said that nursing is versatile if studying abroad, so, I don't know which one but I think I will be choosing nursing since I like science and they want a nurse in the family:>
recently found this video and tom is literally my first day as a firstyear senior and im basically focusing on health or med, and the dumb part is i picked nursing without really thinking about it, Now i didnt pick nursing because it's easy cus i know it's not, like what ate said in the vid. But i picked it cus i like the idea of helping people in need it feels good for the soul and mind and the problem with me choosing such a hard course is im not that good in studying, im not good at anything academic which is why i feel like i screwed myself over but it's the first time i actually want something, in the past i wanted to be an engineer but due to my poor academic performance pursuing that "want" isn't really possible for me.And no i didn't pick nursing or med because it's not as good as being an engineer,it's just something thats seems like it's within my ability.Only studying is my weakness. SO basically this video helps a lot thankyou for making it i hope you're doing well and are currently safe from the pandemic and to those who come across this take care and i hope you succeed in life (and if ure pursuing med) study hard, get some rest here and there, and ofc goodluck.
i don't know who needs to see this but remember that life is a one time experience and you shouldn't hesitate on doing the things you wanted eve though it's challenging because challenges can make your existence more interesting
new subscriber here! thank you ate for the tips. incoming grade 12 student pa lang po ako, currently doing some advance readings about sa nursing courses ng 1st year especially sa mga major subjects. this video was published 2 years ago, and siguro registered nurse ka na po ngayon. congrats ate!!!!
Thank you for your experience and tips. It is useful to anyone who will enter the Nursing Profession. Your advice will save others from the trials and errors that may occur. God bless your work
I remember my first year as an RN really sucks! The experience was far more different from being a student. You'll encounter more problems like anytime your patient can b toxic it will challenge u how to handle and face it. And sometimes you'll meet ethico-legal problems that will challenge ur decision. And at the end of the day, your sahod will make u hate nursing. I don't want to be nega. But if adulting hits u, you'll be disappointed. - S. A. D. But to those who aspire,.. Hospitals needs u!
It’s sad to hear that, but I guess as long as we remember the reason why we chose this career in the first place (hopefully because it’s our passion), it’ll get us through tough times! Thanks so much for this! ❤️
