If you have spent some time in Escape From Tarkov and feel like you have a good understanding of the game but want to get better and really hone your skills I hope that this video is helpful to you! These are a few tips that I picked up along the way that really helped me as I was transitioning out of the "Beginner" phase in tarkov. Hopefully these will help you master PVP in Tarkov and help you survive more raids!

Built my first pc this past year and this was one of the first games I started playing as well. Been a super steep learning curve, not only coming from a controller to mouse and keyboard, but also just how different this game is. But on a side note, putting hundreds of hours into this game has made me the biggest Chad in every other fps game I've played since. COD boys ain't got shit on Tarkov Chads, and that's a big fact haha.

Agree! Especially since I've been strictly a solo player. Might try and hop in the LFG section of discord servers to squad up this next wipe. My first wipe I wanted to accomplish learning the game, maps, and doing the tasks, which I thought would be better solo. I definitely accomplished that with a solid foundation for the amount of time I've played

I’d think most new-intermediate players would appreciate a movement guide regarding sound. Something that can be tough to learn in Tarkov is when the extra speed is worth it, or even knowing who can hear you. Sound in tarkov is easily the most important sense for survival and nearly as important in pvp. I know that a lot of it would be situational, but even some basic things could help, such as a roughly estimated radius of how far your foot steps can be heard from at max walk speed (and how headsets impact that radius). I know veritas has a video that almost does this, but it doesn’t go much into detail on the value of moving at x-speed vs the cost of being heard from x-distance. It goes into some depth on using different terrain noises to locate players (I.E., factory bathroom shingles) but not enough for players to gauge whether or not it’s worthwhile for them to avoid those or treat them as any old walkway.

That guy feeling thing is so true. I was hanging out on reserve doing a bit of sniping. The whole time I saw nobody touched marked room by the train station. I told myself not to go unlock it because I’ll get pinched by a Chad. But I figured that ten minutes in nobody will check it. Well lo and behold as soon as I pick up the mag case I found in there I here a duo squad roll up. If I had stayed in the tower I could’ve picked them off but I decided to ignore my intuition and lost for it.

@carewzen

Love your vids! I've watched 3 of them and you are so right about trusting your instincts in Tarkov. The game has an insane mental aspect to it and I like how you touch upon using strategy to outwit your opponents and execute a fight toward your advantage. You bring up great points to reflect on - learning from your mistakes, practicing situational awareness and decisive decision making are key & don't let pride get you killed. Over time these things happen naturally as you progress as a player, but your videos certainly help drill those points.

A valuable thing i learned is that you cannot -CAN NOT- listen to that little voice after you killed someone, saying ''ooooh look at aaaall that yummie loot! go take it!'' or ''now that we have the loot, let's rush extract!''. I always tell myself that if i kill someone, the loot is mine. If i pick it up of not is by choice, but once you kill someone they lost all their stuff. You don't have to pick it up as fast as possible, it can lay there for 20 mins, as long as you don't drift too far, no one can take it unless you notice it (most of the times). So don't rush looting, you got plenty of time :p this time you use to check your sector for teammates or 3th partiers (aka loot deliverers).

For a long time I really sucked at PVP in Tarkov but then I started doing it a little more and my skill started to blossom. For me that was around the 120 hour mark when I really noticed my skills starting to get better. Now I go into the resort on a regular basis and can get a kill or 2 and make it out occasionally. I killed a guy last week wearing all class 6 armor with a super modded HK. It takes time but once you hit that point where your getting decent at the game it’s a lot of fun.

Tip for looting solo: Throw your bag somewhere safe, put everything you need into dead guy's bag and transport that to your bag. Repit for every body you loot. It's way better to make few quick trips, then stay looting for long out in the open. Other pmcs and scavs will probably camp the dead guys first. Also, buy quickly grabbing guns and armor from your kills you prevent some sneaky scav stealing it and killing you later.

Another tip I tell every person I know is new to the game is; if you are playing with people who are experienced with Tarkov, make sure they are not holding your hand the whole time. If you are relying on another person to show you where extracts and loot are, then you yourself are not learning anything. Sure, for the first few days get used to the game. But after that period of time you really need to start solo raiding to find your play style. I played with my friends for like 3 months before I became confortable playing. Each time we would just extract camp. Once I started losing gear fear and realized nothing in Tarkov is permanent, did I really begin having fun with the game and begin taking control of fights/not waiting for people to flank instead of doing it myself. Tarkov is a really fun game but you have to remember it is unforgiving as fuck. Just have fun, do the quests, and eventually you will begin to understand the game more. Also, there are so many different kinds of headsets in the game. No one is truly better than the other, it is all about preference. I myself tend to mentally understand audio cues when I am not wearing any of the headsets. I.e. Comtacs, gssh, tactical sports ect.

I don't think it's this time of the wipe that's the problem. I noticed people got way harder to take out once BSG announced the wipe was coming up. Lots of people started taking out their best gear, spending their money on good gear and not investing in their hideouts.
@jsgdk
@jsgdk 4 года назад
Alot of added "artificial" difficulty for new players, for me too, I started right after the skill progression nerf and all the veterans have maxed out passive skills(and no way for new players to catch up realistically) which is a BIG deal even after I got access to good gear, have plenty of rubles and learned some maps. The next wipe will be a bigger equalizer than previous ones because this, its going to take a long time for everyone to get good passives now.

The easier maps like Factory and customs are the ones you should avoid as low level, only go there for stuff like missions only and let it be in and out. Woods and interchange are much more forgiving, outside loot in interchange is good enough and more or less safe. And woods is better to run something longer range so it's easier to pick fights or run/hide.

I thought I heard someone on gravel around that corner... pre fired and got him. My gut was right. Instead of looting I ran to cover to see if the dude had a battle buddy. He didn't so I healed and CMS... then... I looted.

You missed the tip of Treat scavs as PMC’s, I have gotten killed by a cracked scav that’s more unpredictable than a PMC that you can expect to do certain tactics and strats.

i have 700 hours in this game, and bascialy most of it was camping and playing for money. I never really improved my pvp skills because of this, once i started going ham on pvp, labs, dorms on customs and resort pvp, i improved so much more.

The majority of tarkov players aren’t rats or chads, we are mids. A hybrid spawn where we can’t hit our shots but map knowledge carries us

I still have trouble figuring out where I'm being shot from.

Might be the sound system, it's kinda fucked rn :/ they will update it with a new system at the wipe :) What i mostly do when i get shot is think of which spots i would sit to shoot someone from that is in my position, like hotspots or highgrounds. But the first thing i do is run, don't look around wondering where it's from, first you run because they can see you but you don't see them :p Get cover, maybe reposition, ask yourself if you want this fight or not (like if you have a lot of loot try to lose him/them). What also helps, and it's something you can practice, is once you hear a gunshot or grenade start wobling your head with the freelook key binding. Just slightly left and right, but quickly. That way you can localize sound way better.

My surv rate is fluctuating around 35-40% considering that I'm a Zero-to-Hero format fanboii. Not sure if I'm a mid-tier player. Pretty sure that I can solo a squad or so, though.

Think, how often do I die in Tarkov? Is this a serious question Jesse mate? I die ALL of the fkucing time! Yesterday was a better day, but today has not been fun. Even SCAV's attacking me on SCAV runs

I do not have the best internet connection... so I am very cautious in what fights I pick. I run away often. I often use thermals to avoid fights (because for some odd reason this wipe, a ton of them dropped into my lap, I've bought 2 so far). My survival rate is around 63% at the moment. Very ratty, I admit.

This game is the reason I got a PC..with literally zero experience on a keyboard..I'm talking zero CPU experience I'm fat fingering everything at the wrong time all the time..still love it tho..got about 100 hours and only 2 pmc kills..maybe like 20 scavs..still level 9..maaaan its tough I'm broke rn but I need all that stuff for level 10..it's rough rn Edit..I fuuuucking heard them...what did my dumb ass do? Accidentally hit reload duo opened the door and smoked my dumb ass..fuckers..killed the sniper scav tho before I died so there's that

I've found that most of the community is rather impatient, so just waiting or clearing the area after each kill for around 30 seconds is enough before looting. Most of the time, at least from my experience, when people are playing in a squad and one dies, he will probably immediately want the others to avenge him by rushing straight into combat, so if 30 seconds pass and no one comes, probably no one will.

I dont know if youll ever see this but ive been playing tarkov pretty often for the past few months and my aim still feels off, it looks like i should be hitting the shots but it just doesn't seem to happen. Do you have any tips that would help with improving accuracy in tarkov so i can do better in these pvp fights. thanks love the videos, have helped me learn a lot!!!

Not sure if the Field of View accuracy bug has been fixed, but test things out in an offline raid. (Used to be that at higher FOVs shot placement didn't align properly with optics) Could be anything, ammo type, lag, desync...
