That's not an helical cutterhead, but a spiral one.

I’m installing these 4-way blades on my Wen planner- what’s the truck to get them installed square?

Good morning I have a Rikon jointer. The first time I used it it was a smooth and clean cut, literally on the second use it left tracks on my project. Would you say that the cutter heads it came with are of a low quality and I should rotate them after only two uses?

I bought a used jet 8hh. I noticed some faint lines on the face of my boards. I changed the inserts according to the lines, tried again, and the lines were a little more visible. Im guessing i need to switch all the inserts because the older ones i didnt rotate were worn? And the newly rotated ones were cutting a hair deeper? Anyone ever come across this?

Great video. Just wondering about a particular scenario. If you have been using one side of the inserts for some time, and then one breaks, so you replace the broken one. As its new and the rest are used, will it cut slightly deeper than the rest making an uneven cut? Thanks. Kris.

Technically yes but I doubt you could measure such a difference x). Carbide doesn't really change dimension a whole lot, generally only the last few microns of the edge will wear away.

Warning: Before you rotate your jointer or planer inserts clockwise, make sure that puts a cutting edge where the old cutting edge was. I made the stupid mistake of watching this video and then rotating my planer cutting inserts clockwise as was done in this video. Problem was, my cutting inserts only have two sharp sides; the other two edges are not cutting edges. Running the wood into a dull insert edge left quite a groove in the wood and, much worse, damaged the cutterhead.
