tips for new hijabis | some things I wish I had known before wearing hijab

Tomorrow with be 1 full week of wearing the hijab full time. I was so so scared to start wearing it mostly because I wasnt sure how my work would react. Most didnt even know I was muslim, but one day I just decided. I have to obey Allah swt, I dont want to die without wearing the hijab. So I wore it, and absolutely no one cared. A week later and its become the norm. I live in the midwest midwest, where wheat fields surround us, we have farms and where there is a very small muslim population. But all I have received is genuine questions surrounding my hijab and SO many compliments. Allah swt truly will guide you through it, trust in him. Walk with confidence, put on a smile and Allah swt with do the rest.

I also started wearing the hijab as a practice but i found it harder than i thought but after a while i just made the intention to put it on and after a few weeks of starting college i decided to become a visible muslimah through my hijab which was indeed a big step and scary. I felt judged and stared at and very uncomfortable in the beginning but SubHanAllah i quikly got used to it and feels like a part of me and cant imagine myself without it now😊i also dont feel comfortable if i wear too tight clothes or if my body parts are visible shapewise so i make it a priority to dress as modestly as i can cuz it doesnt feel right and i am too conscious now to be modest and dont want anyone to check out mu body hahaha. I also want to please Allah by dressing modest ofcourse and i totally see the benefits and increased selfrespect i have gained thru it. It has given me a clear identity Alhamdullilah🤲❤

Oh wow, same here Bushra! I remember that two years ago I wasn’t wearing hijab (I had just turned 15). It was actually in this same month, November, that I started wearing hijab! I had thought about it for a long time before-but I was always afraid of what ppl would think about me. Now I realize that ppl could rlly care less, they’re just focused on themselves most of the time. Now I’m 17, and I’m sooo glad I’m wearing hijab today. :D And you’re right; hijab is a journey, and it’s different for every girl. For all the girls thinking about wearing it; go for it, and don’t worry about what other people think!! You’ll be grateful in the future for sure! Anyway, I absolutely loved this vid. 💖

I’m still struggling with pins and where exactly should I put them to make the hijab stay stable 😭 it always seems to fall down a lot in public 💀 My family and friends are so done with me making them wait so I can make my hijab a little better 😂 my mom said that I can wear scarves for now and wear the “dupatta” when I’m a bit older I guess 😭😂

Hi Bushra I'm a 15 year old and I really felt bad for not wearing the hijab. So I wore it on a Wednesday in the middle of last semester of freshmen year. It's my first summer with the hijab and I feel very demotivated rn :( especially for going to the community gym I usually wear short sleeves Advices???

I am 15 years old . I wear hijab in school but not in family gatherings and etc . My mom always tell me that I don't look good in hijab and I should not wear it in school . I really want to start wearing hijab out but I am scared that I cannot do this and I'm also scared of my mom , my cousin started wearing hijab fulltime Ma sha Allah really happy for her but if I start wearing hijab now my mom will say that I just copy her and she will yell at me . Ppl don't know how much effort it could be to put it on for some individuals who are strugglig with their families, work, community... All the people that may want to take her down because she's wearing a hijab. But, indeed Allah is always near and See our efforts. Nobody is perfect, so let's not judge the sisters who are not "wearing it properly" because she's not respecting the conditions. They are humans too ! Advise her maybe, make du'aas... But never tell her to remove it. Because that is something that is only between her and her Lord. My advice sisters, is to seek knowledge abt WHY you're wearing it, what does it represents ('cause that's not only a piece of fabric) and HOW can we please Our Lord by wearing it as He told us. Not society, not fashion standars, not even your folks... Him and only Him ❤
