In this weeks class talk, we discuss blending technique for beginners in oil painting. Which focuses on varying brush pressure and using simple rules of shading and light to achieve a realistic effect.
Going back to the basics of drawing, we draw on the darkest part of an object will be lighter on the opposite side due to light exposure, and that will translate to our brush strokes. Application of paint and blending it by varying pressure, wiping excess paint, and understanding how much paint is needed on the brush is key for learning technique.
