When we moved to Aviano our dog flew with us in the luggage area. 75.00. They always did a two week class to get a new person or family somewhat accumulated. I remember them telling us hold onto your receipts when you leave a store, or restaurant. I was terrified of the Carabinera. It’s funny now, I hated the first year and then when we were on the Freedom Bird to leave, I cried so hard. I loved Italy and our little village so much. I lived in Dardago. I was there 86-89. The base was very small then. The commissary had like four registers. We would go to Vicenza and stock up. Italy will always be my favorite overseas assignment. So many memories, I know everything has changed and I probably wouldn’t recognize it.

How did it work with packing, I have over 300 pair of sneakers due to me collecting and all. I'm jsut scared on losing some or some getting stolen and all. Do you prefer to just sell our vehicles? Rather than bringing it over seas. My car is heavily modified.

When you move they will usually have you fill out a survey with how much stuff you have so they can accommodate!

I'm going to say it's 50/50 you can sell the car and buy a new one and take a $ loss (my experiences only cause cars depreciate in value and usually between taxes and fees all things being equil make , brand , year , mileage etc.) or you can ship your car over but then pay ruffly the same amount in rental car charges while you wait for it and hope it comes quickly. If I had to put a price tag on it, I'd guess about 2000-4000$ kick in the pants, but that depends on how fast you can find an apartment and how fast you can find a new car. My son bought a car the 2nd week after arrival and still needed the rental for about another 2 weeks to get it fully registered and legal. Unlike here were you can buy a car in the USA and typically drive it off the lot that day or pick it up tomorrow. Time is Money...
