We like IEW spelling (child does it with a CD player on his own), RU-vid PE video, and Teaching Textbooks for independent work for older kids OR the big kids can do a daily load of laundry/dishes with mom's phone and listen to an audiobook.

Ali Holdener Can I ask what you like about teaching textbooks? It seems like a large population of people I follow use it and I'm curious about why 😊 Personal experience is so much more helpful than the website!

Confession-I have never used it! Bought and plan to start this coming week. I'm due with baby #5 (so on the "1st day of school" I'll have 4 kids, 4 and under) and my big girl is 5 years older than everyone else due to miscarriages. With big sis in 4th grade I want her to keep up her skills. School is tough for her. Daily commitment to curriculum with a timer and chunks of quiet time works really well. For lack of wanting to find a math tutor (and keep myself and the house presentable for strangers-ah!) we're going to try it...

So if you don't get started till 9, do you skip morning time and go straight to table work or do you start with morning time for the hour and then do your table time till lunch and then that is when any left overs fall in to the after lunch block?
