Hi Andrew. Thanks for this excellent video with great tips I haven't really heard anywhere else. I'm going to Iceland in September and looking forward to flying my drone there. Cheers!
Awesome mate, it was fantastic working with you on this mate. A great excuse to revisit my time in Iceland, I'd recommend it to anyone thinking of going...and definitely bring a drone!👍
Some good tips for drone pilots. I like setting the camera setting before you take off, I'll have to practice that. I'm alway f'n around with exposure when I'm flying. Being respectful of others around you, an excellent tip and one that will pay us drone pilots back large. Thanks again for another interesting video.
Thanks Steve. With the air I don’t get much air time (ironic huh) so I try to do as much as possible when it’s on the ground or just getting it’s bearings! And the respect for others things is true... more people are learning to hate drones and I’m seeing more and more areas that are becoming drone restricted zones which is a shame. Gotta keep the punters happy though
Great tips and great talk, it's actually all applicable to any country/conditions, not just Iceland. I think myself I need to try and learn to fly lower to the ground.
I’ve been following you and Haylie (adventuringtwo 😉) for a while now and just wanted to say wooooow your drone footage is AMAZING. Planet Earth 3?! Lol. 🙌🏽
Thanks Maria! Really appreciate the feedback! You’re actually not the first to elevate the video the Plantet Earth 3 status 😂 I’m thinking about doing more but the limitations around national parks is incredibly difficult.
What colour space are you recording in? Any compression in the file format that you’ve setup? I know the dlog that comes out of the mavic is quite flat
Was in central australia and i just lost the redness of the soil. Havent really got the hang of it but shooting in raw so was hoping that i could pull it out in post.
If you’re shooting in raw it should be fine. If the scene isn’t too complex you can colour grade it to what It looked like previously too. I think I’ll do a video on colour grading the Iceland video next week if that might help give you some ideas to combat the colour shift you’re seeing
I am super excited to go back to Iceland this year and I'm bringing my drone this time. Just debating on the air2s or mini 2. Any thoughts on wind resistance importance in May? Last time I went it was November and it was a wild week
awesome guys ,love your work. Any chance of a video about how you edit/colour correct your videos. I have the Mavic 2 Pro which has a much better sensor than the Air but your video looks fantastic , any tips appreciated
Thanks Craig! Appreciate the feedback mate. I’m happy to give you some tips and I might actually do a video in the next fortnight now that you mention it. Are you colour grading in premiere?
Hey Paul! Thanks for tuning in. Andrew M’s filters are from Polar Pro, they are called the cinematic vivid series (with the polariser in each along with the ND), He got his from ebay, but there are plenty of places online where you can get them.
Good luck Alex! I highly recommend practise before hand. In particular switching modes to capture moments quickly and seemlessly. For example I was flying today and had to act very quick to capture a dust storm before it swallowed up the drone!
Amazing video! Thanks guys~! I'm going to Iceland in this March with my Mavic 2 pro. can you recommend nd filter brand? and do I need nd 32 and 64 ???? even PL filter?
You're welcome! That's awesome that you're heading to Iceland. VividPro filters are pretty good but just make sure you get the ND and PL in the single filter so you're not stacking them. I would take both a 32 and 64. Some of the ice is quite bright and can blow out a shot easily. Have you seen my Iceland drone video? that was filmed with no filters and there are a few scenes where you can definitely tell.
@@AndrewDawes yes I watched it! It was the freaking awesome video! I can't believe it was made without filters..! Actually, I thought that I just bring shutterpro of polar pro(nd 4,8, 16). do you think it's enough to make good quality shots??
Well if you think my video was good.... and I didn’t use filters... then any filter you use will give you a better result IMO 😁 so glad you enjoyed the video 🤘
Cool video witth great tips! And i like how each of you have your part as in "I look the the left and you look to the right when addressing each other" 🤗
