Tips for your kitten's first night home 

for my kitten she dint like the car ride home , so we let her drive, she got a speeding ticket. lol , also you and your cats are very cute.

Been thinking about getting a cat for a while. This morning I woke up and said “I’m going to adopt a cat today” and by 1pm made an adoption agreement for this cutest little male kitten. An hour later I decided to adopt his brother who he’s bonded with as well. At 7:30pm they were dropped off! They’ve spent most of the night behind my bed, the way my bed is built they can’t go underneath. Funny enough the brother who I wasn’t going to adopt originally is warming up to me a bit more. But they are both super sweet. They’ve come out to explore a bit when they think I’m not paying attention and then scurry off behind the bed when I make any movement lol they’ve eaten, drank their water and have used their litter boxes with no issues. I feel like they appreciate it lol they’ve also tested out a few of their toys and scratch pad a bit. They’re adorable and soo sweet and I have no doubt they’ll both come around in no time! ❤

I burrito wrapped mine in pee pads, threw her in a box, turned up some calming beyonce music, and we made it home just fine. Started eating and exploring as soon as we got home.

mine was so anxious for hours until i gave her a few dry food pellets from my hand and she completely switched up and was suddenly comfortable around the entire house

you should also mention that when you bring a cat home that you try and keep them away from any areas where there are loose electrical cords that they could bite/chew on--also keep any plants that could be toxic away from her if possible--it might also be a good idea to put secure fasteners to cupboards you want her to stay out of especially if you keep household cleaners etc in them

i'm probably getting a kitten for my birthday which is in january btw what are the first things to do when i get a kitten i know a little bit because my sister has a cat aswell but not that much if anyone could reply i would be thankful

So if we let the kitten come out whenever she is ready, what abt the food? Do you keep the food out with the water at feeding times and just let her come out in her own time? Or do we try to keep some food inside the carrier/crate?

Question about the water fountain you have - I bought the same one and I'm picking up my 8-week old kitten tomorrow. Where does the filter go, inside the unit? The instructions (showing the layers of pieces) make it look like it goes on the very top with the 4 squares facing up but I couldn't even see your filter in your video. Were you just not using it? I want to have it working when I bring him home tomorrow.

Hi, we’re getting two kittens on the weekend; they are 9 weeks old. I’m wonder how tidy do you need your apartment to be? Like will they knock things off the shelves and tables? Also we have decided to keep them as indoor cats because there is a busy road nearby; does this mean you never let them into the garden at all (the garden at the back of the house is not near the road). What about grass? Don’t they need to eat grass? So do we cut some and bring it in?

Picked up a cat today at Petco, I think I accidentally overwhelmed her cause I let her out in the living room instead of a smaller area. I had brought her into a smaller area now but she's just been under the furniture, about to feed her, I'm hoping I didn't mess up her first impression of me 😭

Brought 2 kitten siblings home, they’re not coming to me at all & hiding from me, actively avoiding me, they pooped on my hoodie that was on the floor & peed on the floor, super overwhemed & not sure what to do, worried they’ll pee or poo on my bedroom carpet so i’ve left them in the main room, they aren’t eating or drinking either not sure what to do :(

my downstairs literally is completely open and has no "seperated" rooms. can i put up a small enclosure and have our cat walk around in that enclosure first for some time?? or is it ok to just let her walk around freely as we dont have many doors downstairs. only to the master bedroom.
