Tips - How to take good concert videos with the Samsung S22 Ultra

I'm a long time Apple user and I just got a Samsung S22 Ultra to film at concerts, so I'm not familiar with how it works. But I wanted to share my experience and observations from using this phone for 2 concerts. I hope this helps and do share your tips too if you have any!

Agree, EIS on camera smartphone make video so jittery and FOV are less wider. Actually it’s good to have 2 telephoto lens so you have option and don’t worry if you get seat that far form stage.

the no switching lens in UHD60 also applies for s23 and because of the flexibility of switching lens I also mostly use UHD30, also for zoom I shoot some ~1.5x and quality is horrible until in middle of video I switched back to 3x optical and it's so much better, so definitely on samsung use lens zoom do not try to adjust anything in between.

Thanks for this video! It's funny that you happen to be a Super Junior fan because I was looking up how to film a concert on my phone because I am attending a Super Junior D&E concert tomorrow evening and I don't have the best of seats!! I have been to many concerts before and I really don't know what I am doing filming wise - sometimes it is good, sometimes not so much! Sadly, I only have a S21 Ultra so likely I am already at a disadvantage but I am hoping that some of your tips will work for my phone as well even though the quality will probably not be as good. for korean 내가 보려고 정리 -콘서트 전까지는 핸드폰 꺼놓기(배터리절약) -uhd30으로 찍기 더 높은 해상도로 찍으면 줌이 제대로 안됨! -1x 3x 10x등 화면에있는 줌이 가장 깔끔한 해상도를 보여줌!(아마 렌즈가 달라져서 인 것 같음) 예를들어 8x로 찍는 것 보다 10x로 찍는게 더 고화질이라는 뜻 -화면 꾹 눌러서 노출점 나오면 왼쪽!!으로 밀어서 노출값 맞추기 -stabilizer(초점 자동,수동) 끄기 -너무 뜨거워지면 조금 식혀주기

Thanks for the helpful advice ! I hope it works for my S22 plus until now my concert films very often unsharp great tip about using the zoom only in 1 3 or 10 setting !

How is the recording quality in a noisy environment? Is the video sound good or is it sputtering? I used to use HTC U11 and HTC U12+ and was very happy with their Hi-Res Stereo recording option

Would I be able to do this with a regular S23? If I just end up using the 10x zoom?

you prob dont want to use 10x zoom on s23 since it will be digital zoom. just use 3x optical zoom on non-ultra

Thanks for the helpful tips! I'm having exposure issues which I assume is due to Pro Video mode so next chance I get I'll stay clear of that.. lol How do you counteract the concert lighting affecting your recording? Some of my videos the artist is literally all light purple due to lighting 😅

Hello. You just have to adjust the EV in Pro Mode and lock it. Shoot in UH30. Manual adjust before shooting during concert or before it starts but don't worry as it keeps the settings in Pro Video Mode. 😉 i have the S23U and used it at D&E's concert. :)

Do you think there is a difference between recording between 4k30fps and 4k60fps (i.e, the quality of your recordings are still acceptable to you)

Quality should be about the same, 60fps looks smoother but if you are a very shaky person, it will be more visible on 60fps. Also 60 does not allow for lens switching, which is really trouble some on concerts.

any tips for good sound quality? i have the s21 fe, every samsung phone i is VERY sensitive to loud music and bass, it ruins every video :/

hi, thx a lot for the information. I confused whether buy iphone 13 pro or samsung s22 ultra to go the concert. Did you have experience about video zoom in iphone? Is it good? I want to buy iphone because of their video is stabil but still confuse about its zoom. Btw, I'm elf too :) . The cellphone for go to supershow.

Hi fellow elf! I think it depends on where you are seated at the concert. If you’re at the standing zone right infront you may not need a far zoom, but if you’re on the stands you may need one. iPhone zoom is okay but the quality is not so good like S22 because S22 has a dedicated 10 times zoom. If you need a 10 times zoom definitely go for the S22. Hope this helps!

@@yuusj2919 Nice I see. Welcome to Android. I love the zoom capabilities. And capturing in good lighting conditions is not bad. Where the iPhone has an advantage currently is in low lighting but I'm willing to compromise as I get the other things I like about Android. I think I may trade in my S22 Ultra for the S23 Ultra as the low lighting will be further improved and Samsung always has a great trade-in program so usually you can get the newest for $200 if trading in previous year. If you think about it like you kept your S22 Ultra for 5 years but sold it for $1000 less you really are losing $200 per year (200x5=1000) so trading in for $200 to get the newest one is somewhat the same thing.
