Doug, I love your videos, have watched many of them, some several times. I do have a question about auto chart live... How do you adjust the depths you've recorded to actual depth in lakes that have fluxuating nominal depth... For example... My home lake, lake of the Ozarks, depth varies about 6' or so from spring pool to summer pool... I'd think it would be best to record data in the early spring, when the lake is smooth, and use the recorded data thru the summer and fall... In that case there would be a dramatic change in water level.... Does the HB software automatically compensate for the shift, or is that something that I need to do manually? Thanks for the help.

Doug, I have been watching your videos for a few years now and have been subscribed for some time. I was a Johnson Outdoor fan until recently. I own a 36v terrova, ipilot, 1198, etc... I have loved them. I wanted to thank you for putting this videos out and helping the average guy like me to get full use out of my gear. It's awesome to see it in action. I don't know if you ever heard of Dr Depth. I hoping you might be able to help us with some of your contacts. I can be contacted at fixitrod at hotmail dot com and we can go from there. Humminbird bought DrDepth and up to this point have left all of us stranded. It does the live charting, 3d creation stuff with data you collect on your own, etc... I think they used it's technology to build this auto chart stuff. I purchased the software in the fall before the Johnson Outdoors bought DrDepth. By the time I actually got to use it in the spring Johnson acquired the software from the individual, I won't mention names here. The sold it to one user 2 weeks before the sale off. We were up in the air at first of who bought it. Once announced it all seemed just fine because were all told, on the official DrDepth Yahoo forums (consisting of 986 users) that everything would be taken care of. Well heck, one of the best outdoor companies in the world bought it, we should get upgraded or something right??? I kept asking about support and a guy from Lake master named Nick got on there and said it was stated we only have support during the transition. I asked how do we get support then. He never responded. That was a year ago. We can't get one lick of support from Johnson. They won't even respond. Our lifetime supported software is stuck at the version it was at. I can't update the firmware on my 1198 without breaking my live scan I need to make income. You'd think they'd want these users to be the first ones to touch the new software and tell everyone how great it is. This is shady. There are people that bought it two weeks before it was sold. The site was pretty much taken down, no contacts, nothing. I have emailed Johnson Outdoors on several occasions, posted on the official Dr Depth forum on yahoo to see if anyone has gotten support. We have tried. If they are going to purchase software or any product for that matter, that has a free upgrade support policy I feel they should support it. Maybe the lawyers say they don't have to but for regular guys like most of us 400 to 500 for software that we can't get support on after 2 weeks or 6 months or whatever the case may be is bad business. I hope in the long run they fix this. If not, I will personally avoid every single Johnson Outdoor product I can. I have waited over a year to get out and voice this publicly outside of the forum. You are the first and I'm hoping you have a contact that can help explain this.
I personally know nothing about the previous Dr Depth Product. But AutoChart Support is handled by Humminbird Customer Service if you have questions that is where I would start. Best of Luck and it's amazing what AutoChart Live can do on the ONIX. I see why you are passionate about the previous Dr Depth Program.
Do you have to do this everytime you go out fishing, and also what happens if my lake is low and it fills back up? Does the mapping compensate for it or do i have to redo it?
