Hey everyone! Welcome back to another video - here I cover some updated tips on becoming a nail tech in 2023 including costs of courses/insurance etc. I hope you find this helpful! Speak soon, Gee x
i recently qualified in acrylic and gel nails in december and i’m taking a biab course this weekend. I just found your channel and it’s so helpful and now i’m currently watching all your videos. I just quit my full time job because i wasn’t happy and now i’m putting everything i have into nails and slowly starting to see clients build. i agree it’s quite hard to find advice and things like that with uk based nail techs online! so thank you for these videos they’re super helpful ❤️
Same girl SAMW! I hate my job & really want to quit & throw my all into nails bc I really really enjoy them! So hang in there❤️ your business will blossom 🌺
I’m 21 and want to become a nail tech but I can’t afford the courses so I’m trying to look around for different options. I also think my niche is extremely niche 😂 I love art and horror and all things spooky and gothic so I wanted that to be reflected in my nails. I currently do my own and it’s so much fun
@@thenailroombygee Thank you! I'm an artist anyway but I don't think I've ever worked on a canvas that small before. I have some practise nails so I'm going to familiarise myself with working on a smaller scale by painting on them with acrylic paint to see if I can do it 🥰
@@thenailroombygee thank you so much! I’ve wanted to do it for so long but I was never in the position to. I now have an opportunity and I can’t pass it up for being scared of the unknown. So excited!
@@AaBb-sn3ji that’s the thoughts I had when I started and I’m now nearly 3 years down the line and don’t regret one decision I’ve made! I love it🥰 and I’m sure you will too! Good luck! And if you need anything, I’m always a message away❤️
I’ve been working as a credit controller for the last 6 years and am thinking it’s finally time to pursue something I’m passionate about, I’m finding your videos very helpful & inspiring! I remember from a previous video you said you did a 4 day course to become qualified, is this all you need to be self employed? A lot of places don’t seem to take anyone on without an NVQ Level 2 qualification?
Hey lovely! Omg how amazing🥰 I hope you go for it! Yes I did a four day course over 2 weeks. Some salons (if employing you) will have different criteria you have to meet as any other job. But if your self employed you just need to be qualified🥰
@@thenailroombygee ahh that’s great to know, thank you! I think I’m just going to get loads of practice & research in before I qualify & then just go from there! Also followed your insta for some inspiration 🥰
Hi, so ive just qualified in BIAB and doing my acrylic course in march. Im currently trying to sort insurance with ABT but am confused to what sort of insurance to get theres an option of nails tanning and makeup insurance which covers manicure pedicure nail extensions and nail art which sounds about right but does that include biab? is this the right insurance?
Hi i just found your channel and i love all of your advices, i am just starting out with nails, and if i may ask, do i need an insurance if i am planning on working in salons for someone else? Would love to work at home but i just don’t have space for it.
Hey lovely! Would have hard to give a figure without knowing the brand. I suppose you could make it as cheap or expensive as you like. But I’d say at least a couple of hundred xxx
Hello lovely, I’m a new BIAB technician, when is comes to nail files do you sanitise them after each client or do you dispose and use a new one? I’ve heard mixed things when it comes to this so I’m not sure which one is necessary, would appreciate your reply 🫶🏼
@thenailroombygee A good idea is to have a personal file for each client ,in a bag with their name on it till the next time they come back. My clients love this
Hey lovely! I’ve heard good things about bio sculpture! They have a soft gel range which I assume is their version of BIAB. But I am not 100% as I haven’t tried their brand just yet 🥰
