I would love to say some wonderful happy,… “ it worked for me “ kind of comments , but it is without any place to direct us to go! Unless I am mistaken?!
I don't know why minidiscs didn't win out over DVD/Compact Discs, because they come in a housing, like a floppy disc, that protects the disc. Too bad they didn't stick around. In the U.S. market, I think they only managed to survive about 5 years before they fizzled out.
I remember when cds (music) came out in the early 80s here and they said the discs would still work even if you spread jam on them 😅😅😅😅😅😅 that was true..
Digital recording quality was as high as 720p by the time this video was originally made (2006), but sometimes people rendered video in only 144p-360p. Back then, one gigabyte was sizeable, and many HD (at least 720p) videos could fill up a hard drive rather quickly. Storage was expensive back then, too. For reference, a 1GB SD card was $500 back in 2004--and not much had changed from when this video was made. Videos at 360p quality or lower took up much less space (this is akin to the compromise of MP3s over WAVs). So, sub-360p was often a convenient compromise for rendering, storage, and uploads. Although this particular upload is marked December 11, 2020, the original could've been before 2008, which was before RU-vid supported 480p video quality.
I would recommend against 99% or 100% alcohol. I used 99% to clean off some sticky debris on the artwork side of a disc and stripped some of the paint, causing it to fade. Start with 70% and see if that works.
It was true what they said but bollox they didn't work... I tried it so I took the disc back to the shop and got a refund and continued to play vynl records.
