I was upgraded once for an international flight back in the '90's. The seats were larger but what was noticeably different was the food: the portions were twice the size and the meals were multi-course. Every half hour or so a stewardess approached me with an assortment of Swiss chocolate - and not small, complimentary sizes but family blocks. I walked off the plane with two dozen bars..

That happened to me once. I was booked to fly on the left engine. But smiled and got an upgrade to first class. A smile goes a long way guys.

Me: Give me an upgrade Them: No Me: Someones filming... Them: We upgraded you to first class with an in flight butler.

They only gave her “complimentary upgrades” because it’s Lisa Guerrero...

He didn’t say “we gave you a better seat.” He said “we’ll give you a better seat” 😂

So I use these tips and bring my camera crew.... got it!

The only tip I learned, is if you're hot and have a television crew following you, you get an upgrade. So what about the rest of us (the other 99.9999%)? About that Hilton "upgrade." A couple years ago I stayed at a Hilton in San Francisco. They offered me a "free" upgrade when I checked in. I couldn't say no to that. On the morning I left, they slipped a note/bill under the door showing my charges. They charged me an extra $125 a night for the room because I "upgraded." I called the front desk saying I didn't authorize any extra charge. They called me back a short time later saying I signed for the upgrade. I insisted I did not, saying again the front desk said it was a free upgrade, and show me something saying I signed for the extra charge (I'm careful in what I sign). They finally gave in and reversed the charges.

That happend to me on a flight. I got upgraded from economy 2 front row of business.. I had a 6 hour flight so I was happy

When I was 17 many moons ago, I guess I was considered a minor. I got upgraded to business class on a flight from Korea to Hawaii on MAS. I thought they wouldn’t treat me like a business class flyer because I was only upgraded but I was wrong. I got all the perks by way of food and free stuff. Time of my life.

I sat in an exit row on a flight and I didn’t realize it at the time but I had so much extra leg room.

Getting on a 16 hour flight at 3am. The last thing on my mind is “complimentary upgrades”. All I be wanting is just sleep.

I am a Hilton Honors Gold Member and I don’t remember being upgraded to a Suite. They will usually offer this Suite upgrade to a Platinum member. The best I have got so far would be upgrades to executive rooms with executive benefits.

When she showed off her “complementary seat” I just laughed cause on all delta and capital one flights they give you an outlet to charge your phone, free drinks as long as you show I’d, and a tv screen in all the seats. That is in a standard seat so I kind of doubt that she got a huge upgrade.
