Thanks. Good info... Having moved from Chicago to Arizona recently and now being a home owner here, I was wondering where the filters go and what's best to use. The filters are always at the furnace back in the Midwest, so the in-ceiling filters threw me for a loop when I was trying to find it. I also found your water softener, when to add salt very informative too. Thanks for the videos.

Yes I'm from The Chi can identify lol. I just brought a Merv 11 filter by Best Air. The maintenance guy had the cheap green one in. I've been watching a few videos and they are saying that the more expensive ones make your units work harder and to use like an 8 or the cheap ones and change out monthly. I dunno but w give this 11 a try. We have carpet and allergies in my home, so we will see.

But the cheaper one let the system breath away better and it wont freeze up in the summer. You forgot to mention that.Just change it every 30 to 40 days or so you will get the best effectiveness out of your system

Good info, but no link to the filter is provided. Also, why did you show a 1" filter install when you recommend a 3" (the latter being better for both filtration and air flow?)?

Same question. I'm a bit confused about whether to use a 1" or a 3". When we took our old filter out it was a 3", so we thought that's what we had to use.

Can you change the ac filter that goes inside the unit itself to the vent that is on the outside of the wall and if yes what steps need to be done

my new handler in the garage has a filter box and my hvac guy said to change out this filter but stop using the filter box that is in the home. he said to never put a filter in both of them as that would cause too much restriction and ice the coils. is this true? i feel uneasy not having a filter on the living room box.

Does it matter if I use a 2” to a 1” filter thickness? I have a 20x36x2 but can’t really find in my local stores so is it safe to use the 1” filters?

I was never told I have to turn off my hvac unit when replacing the air filter. I'm not very Happy w several things when they installed our hvac. So please tell me if I need to turn it off and what happens if I never turned it off. They installed it like 5 months ago. Thank you for the information 😢😢

You turn it off just so you're not inhaling any blow back. Other than that, it doesnt matter if you turn it off or not.

Only where u see where a filter should go.You will only have maybe 2 filter spots if you shouldnt have one by the furnace that's what these are.up by the ceiling

@@johnhsconiers3308 is the location here because the unit is up in the attic, and not in a convenient and easy access location to replace the filter? I was always lost whenever I see video of how the filter was always right next to the air handler, but mine was no where near there.

Did you ever get an answer? My filters are like yours but one keeps coming loose and sits on top of the other one.

Is your home a 2 story? Do you have 2 separate condenser unit outside your home. If so, it's for each system as your ducting runs independently from each other, thus the reason why have 2 opening that pulls filtered air through it. At least that's how my system is ran. Correct me if I am wrong, but I'm that's how it makes sense to me.
