Hey Michael, we talked on the phone 2 weeks ago , midland credit management agreed on $1100 as a settlement out of 3k but they totally refused to send any papers by mail but they sent me an email explaining the settlement details I scheduled a payment by card , do u think this OK not to send papers but I recorded everything I’m scared this might be a scam????
MCM proves settlement letters all day long, but they are not that great at it, I will say (letters experience long delays). But you should be fine with the recording and the email. Are they on your credit reports?
Okay. Tell me again who the original credit was, and when you stopped making payments on that? Look up whether your state is a single party, or two party state for recording phone calls. Single party state you are likely good with what you have should you need to hold a collectors feet to the fire.
I got a call saying that they were a law firm and they wanted a lot of personal information I didn’t give them anything and after they were asking if I got a letter from them i said not sure who are you? They kept saying sone law firm then my wife got a call too they left a message with law firm at the end they said debt agency. How did they get my wife’s number?
