Tips to Dial in Your Laser for Perfect Results

On a Fusion there is a spot for the target on the left side after removing side panel to tighten up mirrors 1 and 2 so then you only have to worry about mirror 3 for targeting the laser inside the bed. Top left - top right and middle right usually can show if there is anything off as it creates the triangle, but to be sure go right lower then left lower. If mirrors 1 and 2 are sorted in the previous step the 3rd one is the only one to adjust, once centered I tack the screws with crazy glue to hold the screw position Bed leveling I use the back vents as a visual guide and if it is off in the back then I do what you do in all corners. A test raster and cut in all 4 corners also gives you and idea if the level is off and that the laser if firing properly. I use a piece of cardboard for the entire bed do a test in all four corner and middle. If its not cutting in the far right corner through like in the other corner then you know you may have to level the bed in the front otherwise it is within tolerance and you should be good.

I've been wondering about some things with my laser, so this inspired me to finally go through all those checks, so huge thanks! Turned out that level/alignment was all good, but I did discover that my red pointer was off by a decent amount. Not sure how important it is to normal operation since it's never 100% accurate anyway, but something to note that you should also check when first starting up.

This is awesome info! I see no instructions in the material that this should be done in the beginning. After first 2 very small engravings & 1 Epilog canned cutting design, I could assess it was out of level. I got it level as i could with instructions. Also, I could see it was out of focus & out of beam alignment. I now know--never trust a turn-key machine. I will be tuning up camera, x/y, & beam alignment. I'm slow & careful. Is this in the right order? Learning the hard way, but getting an education! I appreciate your videos!

need advice, have a dealer who is selling me a demo unit fusion edge 12, 40 watt machine that he says is like new out of the box with approx 10 hours of use, with bofa filtration for $15,500. Is that a good deal, only will give 1 year warranty. Or should i push for new out of the box?>

How do you adjust the Auto Focus if it does not match the newly adjusted manual gauge?

Hey Trevor, just picked up my Edge 24 80 Watt over the weekend and got it up and running. I am noticing that the settings required to CUT through simple materials are a lot higher than expected for even 1/8" birch or 1/8" acrylic. All mirrors cleaned and aligned. New 2" lens installed. bed is leveled. laser is in focus. Wondering if you have seen this happen with your machine, since you are also running an edge?

Hey Trevor. Any suggestions on why the lens on my fusion is getting dirty super fast after it has been cleaned and I am running air assis the whole time? I have to constantly clean and its actually damaging my lens cause its getting scratched from me constatly cleaning
