I was going the wrong way because I was hurt..... I have this book but couldn't even read it because I was justifying sleeping around with hurt.....this message is for me...thank you John and your team
Lord increase our Faith. I admit that I am hurt by people continuing to make plans, promises to spend time with me or voice their love for me but don't want to spend time with me, show me any courtesy, and the list goes. I'm hurting because I don't understand why noone wants to hang out, visit me, spend time with me, say I don't need prayer, say mean things, cancel plans with me and abandon the relationship at every offense. I've prayed for help, wisdom to overcome offense before and you did it. I'm back again because I'm struggling again to forgive, trust, that things will turn around for the better with these same family members and friends. They give no reason for their actions but treat others differently. I wanted your love to flourish in my relationships. Deliver my relationships from demonic attacks and curses. Jesus help. It is so painful to keep going through this because my love and presence keeps being rejected or castaway. Lord please do a new thing in my heart. Do a new thing in their heart. Offense, hatred, pride, arrogance, reasoning will not have a hold on me. Get behind me Satan. Help me Holy Spirit to resist the temptation to be offended. I will not be offended.

I’m praying that you will receive the support you are seeking from the lord and from relatives and friends. I pray those demonic attacks cease and you win over the dark forces triumphantly. I’m taking these lonely times to get closer to Jesus, to understand his love and sacrifice for me. Where is room for being hurt in all this? Are we supposed to numb ourselves? What about mourning and sorrow? Scriptures say many places to seek justice and that it is wrong for a sinner to get away with it. Where do these things fit in? Do you even get to tell people they're wrong? There has to be more to it than just not being offended. I'm not a robot. You give plenty of examples of how you failed to do what you teach but what are some ways you handle being hurt now that's different?

I am so glad I stumbled on this message. I thought I have dealt with those who have offended me but realized I still hold them in my heart and have not truly forgiven them. Lord please grant me the grace to let go. Thank you Pastor John Bevere for this insightful and liberating message. Will go through the rest of the lessons.

My husband told me I was a stronghold so he decided to cheat on me and walk away from our marriage. He came back asking me to forgive me Him and so I did and now 7 months later he’s back to his same patterns except I’m not sure if there is someone else. He’s cold distant and leaves me behind and only takes the kids and leaves me home. He asked for the divorce once again and this came out of nowhere. We were not fighting at all, just keeps telling me that it’s my fault he cheated tells brings up past mistakes and finds any excuse to want to walk out of the marriage. I am asking for prayer if you are reading this. 😢
So, how is one to deal with offense when in a church in which another member of the congregation has been abusive and that behavior has been excused simply because he or she is in a leadership position?
Forgiveness is still needed, but there would need to be some accountability in place as well. I would suggest going to the overseers of your church and report the matter. Let them know what's going on and what you've done to try to get resolve. Also pray and see what Holy Spirit would have you to do. Stay or leave. You do not have to Subject yourself to abuse. On the other side of this, you might need counseling to process and heal. In the end, you still need to forgive. It doesn't mean you agree with what was done, but you want to release your heart from the bondage of unforgiveness, release the offender, and obey the Word that tells us if we forgive others then God will forgive us. If - then. We personally know how much we need to be forgiven, daily. Right? I can't let anything or someone else hinder me from receiving the forgiveness from God that I desperately need. I'm speaking from experience. I've had a similar situation. It's difficult and painful but it's worth it. Praying for you!!!

I thank you for the insights into how we are trapped through unforgiveness by the enemy. My problem is that I can forgive this one sibling and what they had done to me, but it is the cruel, evil she has and continues to do to others I have been struggling with.. I understand forgiving an individual, but are we to forgive evil?? Are we forgiving THEM or the evil spirits behind their behaviour?? Someone/thing would have to be responsible for their behaviour right? I know the spiritual realm is real and we can open doors to the demonic. How do we forgive EVIL, I mean EVIL, when it is wearing the face of a family member??? Please help me understand this? I WANT and am WILLING to forgive, I am asking Jesus to take the reigns of my heart in this, but are we to forgive Hitler or anyone who has been given over to a debased mind BY God? It didn’t make sense that God would say that and in my disbelief I ran to the Bible to double check and what I read in the Bible is completely different than what you have been preaching. You are purposely misinterpreting what God said about ‘offenses’. I am posting here the exact scripture: LUKE 17; 1-4 ”Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.” How could anyone not see the obvious? So God is warning against Shepherds who lead His flock astray. Jesus is clearly warning False preachers who prey on his Sheep and has even called them Ravenous Wolves. Mind you people in the pews don’t have the platform to preach to people but it’s the one on the Pulpit that has the platform to reach multitudes and spread false teachings. You are misleading people by misinterpreting God’s word! You are only saying the first line of the scripture because the next line is very telling who God is pointing at. It’s quite astonishing to see people can be so gullible to believe such blatant nonsense! Can’t believe these books are so readily accepted and pushed in all Churches.
