What a gem of a channel damn. So glad I found this! One quick editing tip: I would recommend trying to adjust the volume for each individual clip/audio source so that the master volume stays somewhat consistent throughout the video.

one thing to do when practicing dash + 5k is to assign a dash button in the settings instead of double tapping forward and risk getting a 6k btw W for the persona and danganronpa music

Great video! So one Chipp topic after the patch is his j2k. Leffen brought up the point that the change can put chipp in a worse position as it is easier for many people to respond with a throw before Chipp can follow up with a 2k into 2D. I am a newer player so sorry if this is common knowledge, but I was in the Dojo and tested a response. If I believe my opponent will try to throw me when I j.2k I can spam my back dash button while landing and still catch a counter hit with a 6HS. Some combo's I thought were good responses to this were [6HS -> 66 (push towards wall) -> 2S ->2HS -> 236K -> j.k -> 66 -> j.k -> j.D] or [6HS -> 66 -> c.S -> 6HS -> overdrive] Another thing If you think someone is going to throw on your j.2k landing is to do 236k on the j.2k hit confirm BEFORE landing, I was able to catch some people in their grab animation with air k alpha blade.

Nice vid as always man, I recently managed to get my 1st VIP with Chipp following your advice. Also for anyone wondering I was already copying Leffen's quick roman cancels to open my opponents up and it works wonderful and keeps your opponent on their toes. I will definitely try to add the dash tech you mentioned in the vid, I didn't even considered it when watching it myself during EVO, thanks for breaking it down.

I'm an old Chipp Head, and yeah that's kind of what I took from Strive; you are given the tools to accomplish the same thing as teleport, BUT! ...Nagoriyuki totally stole our shit. Also I think Chipp's j.D is far too slept on, and Leffen definitely uses it when jumping in.

Finally got time to sit down and give it a slow re-watch. Here are some thoughts/questions: 1. That FD fast fall stuff for ambigious overheads looks so busted; I'm definitely going to grind those in the dojo. 2. Do you think the dash->5K/2K/5S practice would be good to do with normal dash, instead of the dash macro? Like would it help clean up timings in general? 3. That dust button/5P burst bait detail was wild; I didn't even notice that. I gotta try and be more analytical when I watch high level Chipps 4. I gotta use F-RRC more for sure; I never viewed the distinction that way before. I kind of always just classfied it in my head as "fast is always better, it's just harder" but I never kind of took that thought further and came to the logical conclusions that you did here. Overall, I gotta say I'm impressed how much you're able to glean from these games, despite the fact that you're not like a top 8 EVO player, necessarily. That skill probably helps your improvement so much; I gotta try and emulate it as much as I can. Great video Straw; I look forward to the next one!

One thing I’ve noticed is fast Roman cancels also give/net you more damage, just a lil tip. I’m assuming they did this as a reward for doing fast rc combos rather than slower ones which may give you more corner carry.
