This video talks about some of the important things to consider when using precut applique shapes in your machine embroidery designs. Using precut shapes with applique designs in the Embrilliance programs allow you to get creative when selecting or creating your applique finishing stitch - you are not restricted to just a satin finishing stitch! So many other options such as the blanket stitch or E-stitch that are included in the Embrilliance Essentials AccuQuilt Edition die libraries. I need to find some of this HBL Stretch! Haven't seen it anywhere but I will definitely look for it. Sounds like it will sew easier and softer than regular HBL. I am surprised to not see a bit of scotch tape on that stem to hold it in place ;) This makes me want to get on with experimenting with my applique inflation and bring my number down from 1mm. Hi Lisa, thank you for your explanation but I have a question! What happens when the newer accuquilt dies don't exist in the embrillience essentials accuquilt die section? In particular new shapes from designer dies like "laundry basket" aren't available yet. How can I still utilize those shapes and stitch around in my embroidery machine? Is there a technique to bring those shapes in embrillience software by possibly scanning already cut fabric shapes - can you do a video on that? Also will there be any new updates in the module with new shapes anytime soon?

Lisa, I'm looking forward to being able to use the Acu quilt shapes when they are made available to existing Embrilliance owners, but in the mean time could you advise me as to how much to inflate my designs when using my Brother Scan'nCut machine.

I am confused. It looks like all of your placement stitches were placed all at the same time, then you place your fabric all at once. Usually a placement stitch is done, then an fabric is placed, then another placement stitch and then fabric. Is it the Embrilliane A

Is it the Embrilliance Accuquilt program that does all the placement stitches at the same time! Then, you add the Accuquilt cuts. Because, usually, each individual placement stitch is usually followed by placing the fabric before the next placement stitch is done. Please reply and thank you.

DIANE LIDYOFF You don’t have to do placement, fabric, placement, fabric - it depends on the project. In her example, the shapes were separated, so it makes sense to stitch all the placement lines, add the fabric, then do all the blanket stitching. If the shapes had been overlapped, then she would have to do placement, fabric (bottommost shape), placement, fabric (upper shape), etc.

@@schisandra I am doing my first applique design cut on my Silhouette. I have been told to do the placement stitch, add the fabric applique, then do the tacking stitch followed by the finishing stitch. I turned my applique design into a cut file in Embrilliance and have tried to find the perfect "increase size". The tack down stitch is the stitch that either just misses the applique fabric, or goes just inside enough to show with the finishing stitch. Can you please give me a bit of advice? I'd love to skip the pesky tackdown stitch!
