I had a 2010 and just traded it in on a 2014 and you actually taught me a few things about the 10 that I didn't know and thought it was just new on the 14. I love the Crosstour so much and that is why I bought a second one even though it is 10 years old .. Wish Honda would make a new one.
Definitely was one of the finest machines Honda ever made. I’m keeping mine as long as it’ll have me lol Congrats on the upgraded model. The features it has over the 2010-12 are enviable.

OMG I've had my cross to a little over a year and I love it even though it's got a lot of miles and I'm starting have to do a little work on it , But that's besides the point. This is such a great video because buying a used there's a lot of features you don't really know exist or how do use them or how to activate them. Thank you for the video

@@xelawash hi there i was looking into buying a 1 owner 2012 crosstour with almost 200k as a 2nd car. Great service history at honda dealership. I know its ridiculous miles. What are some potential issues at this year and mialage if i purchase? Does this year have issues with transmission?
Thanks for the information, I found a 2015 I hope to buy tomorrow and wanted see some of the features people like, and make sure they work on the used vehicle. These look like great cars to drive, I’m hopeful it’s in good condition and not a lemon 🍋. Thanks again, I read a lot of the comments and you had some thoughtful replies. Take care
I appreciate the comments. I currently have 230k miles on my 2011 and it has been very reliable to date, which is due to the first owner keeping it up so well, then I did my best to keep up the maintenance as well. Just trust yourself while you’re testing the one you’re considering. If some doesn’t seem or feel right, question it and be willing to scrutinize it. Trust your gut 👍 If you decide to purchase it, consider biting the bullet and having a Honda dealership go over it to tell you the things it needs to have done and be willing to spend some money getting it up to specifications. That way you’ll be able to feel confident that it will remain reliable during your ownership. Good luck and consider going out Facebook group Crosstour Nation. Loads of good info in that group 😉

@@kirashaw3541I also got a 2010 crosstour from my grandma after she passed and have had it for the last 2 years and it has 220,000 miles on it but it drives like the day it rolled off the lot just keep up on the maintenance on it and it will take you anywhere
Hi. I love my 2012 CROSSTOUR. Enjoyed your informative video. I only just learned about flipping over the rear cargo covers. I have Nav in my car and there is NO clock button on radio controls to adjust time. It must be adjusted through Nav settings. Even the dealer did not know this.
@@kellyotero1899 Hi Kelly! Depending on what you’re hearing, yes, the Crosstour run a little loud and due to it’s heft, can be sluggish especially if it’s the 4 cylinder. Which engine does your Crosstour have…4 cylinder or is it a V6?
XelaWash, what a great job you did identifying some of the cool features of this overlooked gem of a car. I'm adding this comment, late to the party, to help anyone who is considering purchasing a used CrossTour. This is an absolutely amazing vehicle. Either you like the look, or you don't, or you don't care; Frankly, I really like the bubble look of this car. I'd encourge anyone to stick with the 3.5 Liter V6, J35Y engine. At 70 mph with cruise, I can get 30 mpg but usually I'm about 20 around town and 27 on the highway for mpg unless I'm on trip, cruising on the highway and then I'm pushing 30 mph. For me AWD is the way to go. I've made a number of mods, mostly cosmetic but one very rewarding mod was replacing the rear sway bar with one from an Acura AWD TLX, which was substantially larger in diameter. This eliminated the understeer I was experiencing. My guess is that if you bought the 4 cylinder, FWD version, which would be lighter, you wouldn't need to do this. And you may not be as fussy about handling as am I. I've always chased handling rather than speed, as this is what makes the car fun to drive on a curvy road using the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Many parts are exchanageable with the Accord, many are not. I look at new cars every day and just can't find any car out there that I'd rather have than this one. The primary reason this car failed as a model is that people couldn't get past the look; but if you focus on the utlity and think of it as a "jacked up accord with AWD and a hatch" you will not find a better value for utility. On a prior car, I had 236,000 on this version of engine and transmisson when I got rid of that car, for other reasons. I had zero issues with either the engine or the transmission, changing oil every $10,000 with Mobil 1 and transmission fluid every 100,000 miles, along with the timing belt (very important with an interference engine). After the current insanity in the used car market dies down, if you can find a 2015 V6 EXL with AWD, think hard about getting it. And, like always, have fun and stay awesome.

Very nice vedio appreciated, if possible can you make a vedio on time setting in Honda accord exl 2010. Which You shown in vedio, same car I am using now TQ 👍
Hello! I’ve been recently looking into putting in better headlight bulbs for my 2010 Crosstour, i can’t find any videos in depth of how to do this. Do you have any tips?
@XelaWash - Good info Bro. My next car will be a Crosstour. Decided that a while ago, that's how I ended up here. My question is, what's the mileage like? I have a 50 mile commute one way to work daily. Gas is brutal in the Lincoln MKT I can't wait to get rid of. LOL
Glad to hear you’re going with a Crosstour. Also join the group I admin on Facebook (Crosstour Nation) we have over 1700 members and there’s tons of great info shared in that group. I’m averaging 24 mpg mixed driving and my commute to work is about 40 miles one way. 👍

Pro Tip: Turn off the digital beeping when filming a RU-vid video. My gawdddd. lol. Other than that, this is a great video. Tysm for the tips and tricks!
Awesome! Congrats on the purchase. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I’m enjoying mine. I would recommend Goodyear Wrangler Fortitude HT in 18” if you can find in the 225/60 R18 or H18 size since that’s what Jeep Grand Cherokee’s use for some off-roading and also highway drive ability.
Thanks man I’ve learned a lot about my crosstour from your videos… I do have a question tho how do you set the clock I’ve seen other accords with the clock button which makes it easier but my particular model doesn’t have that button
Good morning Phil and Happy New Year! I appreciate your question… The clock is set using the “SETUP” button to the right of the large ENTER knob. Once your screen is on the nav map, push setup and use the large “ENTER” knob to jump to the “Other” selection at the top right of the screen by flicking the enter knob quickly. Clock Adjustment is item #4 👍
What’s up EJ. I bought mine in 2018 with 98k miles on it. It now has 210k miles and has been solid, so yes I recommend it for a first car as long as the one you’re looking to buy hasn’t been poorly maintained by the previous owner. If you know anyone who has a great eye for inspecting preowned cars, I advise you to do that before committing to a purchase. I always tell anyone buying a car that is 10-15 years old to be prepared to have some maintenance or repairs done to it, shortly after you buy it. It’s inevitable that it’ll need something done when they’re that old. It may be inexpensive or pricey, but either way, it’ll definitely need something done, so be prepared for that. Good luck on your purchase and thank you for the question. 👊
I love the video im thinking of getting a 2010 for 12k it has 139k miles or a 2014 it has 64k miles for 21k which year is better or it doesn't really matter thank you
Wow..that’s a tough decision. If it were me, I would go for the least expensive option, especially if in great condition, but I would recommend the 2014 because it has a six speed automatic with sport mode and the proximity key is cool. You dont have to use the key or the fob to unlock the door or start the engine while the proximity key is in your pocket or purse. There are also a bunch of other upgrades the 2014 has over the 2010 (too many to list) and it has fewer miles. Unless you’re not ok with spending the 21k, I suggest getting the newer model. I hop that helps…
Honda recommends timing belt changes at 100k, but the age of the car can also determine when you should have the timing service performed. With your car being 10 years old, now is as good of a time as any. I held off on doing mine until there was 150k on mine. Probably should have changed it a lot sooner, but decided to roll the dice and wait. The cost is $1200-1500 depending on where you have it done, but I recommend only allowing a Honda dealership perform that particular service.
What’s up Jazazamon. Yep it sure does have a backup cam and there are blind spots as well (out the split rear window & on the right rear side of the car, but you get used to them pretty quickly.
I have a Honda crosstour ex-L need help on how to turn off the eco light that goes on and off while driving does not matter how slow or fast I’m going it stilt goes on and ofd

It only takes 10 minutes and is super easy👍
Aw man, thank you Bartholomew! 👊 I appreciate the kind words. I hope you get your hands on a good one! The 2012 ?? Ok cool! The 2012 is the first year Honda deleted the Accord badge from the Crosstour. I searched for months and months until I found the one that hat met all my picky criteria. Mine is an “11

@@xelawash hey i had another quick question. Is the steering feel of your crosstour lighter than a regular honda? Ive heard some reviews saying the steering is too light and doesnt feel like the typical heavier steering feel of honda.
I’ve gotten used to the steering feel now, but initially, I did notice the steering is more like a Buick or Cadillac, than the tight sporty feel that Honda’s usually have
I would, but I’d take it to a Honda dealership to get all the needed services done for that mileage so I would feel confident the car would be reliable for me.
It sounds on the second push. If it doesn’t, then try these steps 👍 Horn Operation You can program the remote transmitter to have the horn beep when you lock and unlock the doors. It will beep once when you lock the doors, and twice when you unlock them. To turn this feature on and off, press the OPTION and LOCK buttons at the same time for two seconds. If you are turning the horn on, the remote transmitter's LED will come on for one second. If you are turning the horn off, the LED will blink twice. Release the buttons after the LED goes out. The horn feature will be off after you install a new battery in the remote transmitter. Use the above procedure to turn it on again.
@XelaWash. I am looking at a 2011 Crosstour EX-L with 89,000 miles on it. Any suggestions on what to look out for? It caught my eye and the Carfax doesnt show anything weird, plus the miles are pretty low considering it should be closer to 150,000.
Hey Sparkle! That sounds like the perfect one to buy. The most important thing you will want to immediately prepare to have performed on that vehicle, if you decide to purchase it, is the 100k mile service. Since it’s already 10 years old, I wouldn’t wait for it to reach 100k because it’s already so close. Age and/or mileage determines when certain services should be done. The MOST important aspect of this service is the timing belt. 105,000-mile service Replace engine oil and filter Rotate tires Visually inspect front and rear brakes; Check pads and discs for wear Visually inspect calipers for leaks Visually inspect wheel cylinders for leaks Visually inspect tie-rod ends, steering gearbox, and rack boots Visually inspect suspension components for damage; Check ball joint boots for deterioration and damage Visually inspect driveshaft boots for cracks, and check boot bands for tightness Visually inspect brake hoses and lines; Visually check the master cylinder, proportioning control valve, and ABS modulator for damage and leakage Visually inspect cooling system hoses and connections for damage, leaks and deterioration Visually check all fluid levels, condition of fluids Lubricate all locks, latches, and hinges Check parking brake adjustment Visually inspect exhaust system (catalytic converter heat shield, exhaust pipe, and muffler) Visually inspect fuel lines and connections for looseness, cracks, deterioration, and leaks Check operation of all lights and controls, check headlight position Inspect the vehicle underbody; Check frame and panels for damage Fuel injection service Cooling system service Replace spark plugs Check idle speed Replace timing belt, if applicable Replace outer belts Visually inspect water pump Clean & lube caliper slide pins
Well, it didn’t work out. They were kinda sketchy, wouldn’t give me much info, the car was dirty and my gut was saying “leave”. It’s unfortunate. I will keep looking.
I have a 2010 Honda Cross tour you know Vix V6 but my navigation is not working in it every time I turn it on he say popped up in the screen say please consult the dealer but the DVD is in it but it’s not working
What’s up MJ! First try cleaning the disc with a cd cleaner and if that doesn’t do the trick, try this… hondanavi.navigation.com/models/Catalog/Catalog_Crosstour/en_US/HondaNA/USD
Aiden Suh I hope they can be ordered from the dealer, though I read in the comments of other posts that they may not be available. I was fortunate that the former owner of my car kept them.
That’s a fair deal, but if possible, put aside a couple thousand dollars to prepare for any hidden issues the car may have or services it may be due to have done. Then plan to have a mechanic you can trust look it over to inform you of items you should address in order to keep the car reliable.
So I have a 2011 crosstour and the road noise I get is horrible even when I bought new tires what can I do for this love this car but the interior road noise sucks
What’s up Brandon! Unfortunately, the road noise is a bit loud in Crosstours, but Michelin tires are great for quieting down the sound. The wind drag against the windshield and A-pillars are sort of loud as well, so other than fitting it with a set of Michelin’s, there’s not a lot you can do. @@soniapettiford cool! Be sure to turn the volume way up when you’re connected to the Aux. The volume control for aux is separate from the volume control for the radio. Sometimes you have to turn the volume up loud to hear the auxiliary music play
Just looked it up on Kelly Blue Book and saw the value of a 2011 Crosstour with 155k on it in good condition still has a value between $6800-$8700, so if you want, you make an offer to them for $8700 or you can pay $9k, which isn’t terrible either.
Have you had an emissions light come on and the car shaking? Just happened to me 😭. I’ve dumped so much money into this beauty… 😫 every 3 weeks it’s something… spark plugs/alternator/battery/you name it it’s been done and I’m spent. 🤪
I’m sorry to hear you’re having these issues. The only thing I can think of, try having an OEM Honda alternator installed. I’ve been told that the Hondas do not take well to the remanufactured versions. Also, use the NGK brand spark plugs, if those weren’t the ones that were installed. Get the alternator from Honda dealership, but the NGK Laser Iridium spark plugs you can get from Amazon or any/every auto store. Honda didn’t make the audio system in their cars connect wirelessly until recently. Unfortunately, the Bluetooth is solely for making phone calls wirelessly. The aux cord is the only way to play music from our phones in these cars. There’s also a connection in the armrest console to connect a thumb drive.
Also, be sure to turn the volume knob way up. That’s what I had to do to make mine work since the volume control for the Aux is separate from the radio volume. Sometimes you have to turn the volume all the way up for Aux to be heard.
I replaced the vtec solenoid gasket a few years ago and haven’t had the annoying leak into my alternator since. 👍 $15 gasket saved me a ton of money and a whole lot of headaches. I love how easy these engines are to work on

@@_PARADOX_Fy ahh lol yes, well I can tell you that it’s been an amazing machine. Man I love it more and more each year and wish I could keep it for another 10 years (although I know that’s unrealistic due to parts availability) The list of pros would be long and, as far as cons, that list would only contain my dislike for the annoying, occasional vibration that occurs when accelerating between 20-40 mph( which I eliminated from mine by installing a S-VCM module that prevents the car from deactivating 2-3 cylinders when driving at low speeds) Now mine stays in 6 cylinder mode at all times. Other than the cylinder deactivation, which is designed to save fuel (so annoying 😖), the Crosstour was one of the most intelligently engined vehicles Honda has made, in my humble opinion. I LOVE IT!!!
