Stanley is one of the most musical drummers I've ever heard and that's got to be why he grooves so perfect with Stevie. His skill and precision are blatantly obvious and his years of dedication come through but he retains this musicality in his drumming. It's organic. His ability to stack notes into his grooves and beats without them feeling too busy or cluttered is singular. So musical! Plays the kit like it's an instrument....like a horn or piano,ya know? Tasty!!!!

Stanley nicely done. Clear, Articulate, focused on providing solid content, engaged and "into it" I stumbled on this video and ended up watching the whole thing. Funny, I'm not even a drummer but i took away alot from it! Nice Job.

He should explain that at around 26:00 he is using his left foot on the hi-hat and secondary bass drum pedal at the same time to get a pre-hit on the bass because I tried doing it on a single bass drum( lot tougher)

These days, gospel has more to do with Extreme Metal than other styles of music.

***** His sound is kind of reminiscent of the 'gospel chops' drummers, and some of his fills are clearly inspired by that kind of playing, but his beats are just plain old greasy funky groove that I absolutely love :). That being said, doesn't really matter what category he fits - he just sounds awesome.

+Kacper Iwo Matuszewski lol you guys don't understand what "gospel drumming" is if you think all gospel drummers think it's all about chops. Instead of watching shed sessions (which are practice sessions overall: yes the word shed is a Jazz term meaning to practice) buy gospel albums (live and studio recordings ) and you'll hear how musical a lot of these drummers are. The only reason why you hear super busy guys is because of the demand of the artist or music director on the gospel gig wanting the drummer to practically play with tons of energy in a gospel setting.

+Crimson Sunrise inaccurate. A lot of "gospel" drummers are working on these tours and TV shows is because they're flexible while being musical. But people are only concentrating on their practice sessions aka shed sessions or them playing to tracks .

looks like the camera on the kick was mirrored because the video makes it look he is using his left foot for the kick drum pedal when it is actually reversed.

Nah, that is his right foot. You can see he is using a double kick setup but he has turned his entire body to the left to play the other half of his kit.

no its not mirrored..... his left foot is playing the hats and the right foot is playing the kick. its not mirrored

+Sulove Tripathee i see now. i didn't see at first but when he turns left to play on the left drumset , he plays his right foot on the left pedal of the double pedal. He switches back when he plays on the right drumset. That's a convenient setup
